With or without the fish knife?
Lel nice meme lad, but nobody in Brazil can even dream to reach Rio de Janeiro regarding musical matters.
youtube.com
I bet the flattened head has something to do with improved musical production. It allows cangaceiros de favela to put musical books in their heads. LITERALLY
Lmao, tell me where you are from lad, so we can compare musicians from Rio to the ones from whatever dump you live in.

Pleb, but that was clear since your first post
Gilberto/Jobim/Pascoal are all great.
Buarque is also cool, but not really my taste, for some reason.

I'm not a huge fan of Portuguese rock, but I'm sure there's a fair bit.
They did some gigs in Portugal and Spain last year. They were very popular in the late 60s and 70s, this is their 70s formation, and the best one imo. Rita Lee was a pain to deal with according to Sérgio.
Faltou um pouco de samba e um pouco de sertanejo
I want some popular portuguese songs now
Most "Brazilian" music is Jazz played down tempo and with near Baroque flourish, theirt contemporary music sounds like 50's - 60's Americana, and this is me sticking to the tasteful stuff and not going into their tropical dance music
Yeah, with the regime we sort of skipped the 70's and 80's rock, but we do have a couple. It's mostly Bob-dylan-y intervention songs and whatnot.
This guy was pretty famous at the time, Id say: youtube.com
I can't really help you with that. The 2nd guys are fairly popular (and 3rd to a lesser extent), and they usually top charts here and there, but the very top are shitty pop-music, either american or just pimba songs that just suck.
Here's one where they sing in a Brazilian accent:

Do you guys still make Fado?
meh, at least our music is original
Your music can't hold a candle to Brazilian music
>our music is original
ni vos te creés esa, chavo
Que?
get rekted
Come on lad, we are trying to have serious a serious discussion here.
But our music is original
We have Samba, Forró, Sertanejo, Pagode, Axé, Baião, Choro and other rhythms and genres
Bossa Nova may not be original but we have original music
Yes.
In Coimbra, you have University student fado groups that still play and sing it, and so do some old people. There's concerts every week, and there's a huge serenade at the end of the school year.
In Lisbon you have fado houses, where (amateur) singers go and sing almost every night in a less ceremonial way. I imagine they compose their stuff, but the classics are still very present and popular.
Coimbra is a bit more stern and manly and heartfelt and people often cry, since it's about saying goodbye to your University days and friends, whereas Lisbon is a bit more mundane (in a good way), melodramatic and romantic and womanly, in a way. Both are pretty good.
Then you have those guys, Deolinda from here:
Where they use fado clichês and a bit of Jazz and make a happier/meta version of it and sort of deconstruct it, which seems to be popular, but they also have a couple of more traditional stuff as well:

This song is about Mary Poppins being blacked.
What do the dutch sjw think about that?
What's up with Holland and blackface?
>He is the primary source of the popular Christmas icon of Santa Claus
en.wikipedia.org
If Americans borrowed Santa Claus from us, then why did they rape it with such a boring theme?
The slave/swiss guard/spain/brazil theme is much better for Christmas.
91% of the population think it's not racist and should not be changed, so the media wants to change it.
>Mary Pooppins
Posting some random shit from Brazil that I happen to like.
