The top right word is "errinerung(en)" (memories).
Top line:
Zum ___ Errinerung. Can't read the rest.
... zur ?festen? Erinnerung an deinen...
I think the first half of the middle word is "Jung"? Handwriting is worse than mine.
Thanks
Last word ist "Gruß!" i think (used to be spelled differently)
After looking at it further, middle word could be "Jung Genießen"? My german is rusty though so it may not help
i think the middle word spells 'Jagerbua'. Could be bavarian or austrian Dialect
Yeah, your suggestion looks much more likely than mine to be fair
My memories of our childhood remain with me.
this might help
That is useful, good find
That makes sense, and is kinda sad
my gf can read and write Sütterlin font, but she is not here
What I have so far on second like "um dri _ nen". Could be to go indoors?
Is the middle word on top line "Hartem"? Maybe it's "___ Harsh Memories"?
A relation of yours OP?
So my best bet is "Zur steten Erinnerung an deinen Jagerbua Gea"
don't know what Gea means, might be an abbreviation of some name.
was soll Jagerbua heißen? Jägerbub,Jägerjunge, junger Jäger oder so was?
Nah, I bought the photo to display with a tobacco pipe from a german bunker in Stalingrad.
That looks like arab writing. I guess you were right to call the germans to decipher it.
Ja Jägerbub heist in Tirol Jagerbua
The photo was labled as 1942. He looks like a young Wehrmacht soldier, think it's worth persuing to see if he's still alive?
even if he was 18 or 16 in 1942, he would be over 90 now
That's interesting

this sign looks like some kind of shorthand, but there were a least 3 big shorthand systems and dozens of smaller shorthand systems is use in the beginning of the 20th century. In modern german shorthand this would means something like "sochte" or "sechte"
ok I was wrong with "sochte" or "sechte". This signs doesn't exist in mordern german shorthand. However it still looks like shorthand.
this is just the number 26
Jäger is hunter in german and means following >Lowest Rank for Guard Wehrmacht soldiers
Bub= Old name for a young boy
