Ur a fucking nigger u know that right?

what do you think about cryogenics? or rather cooling technologys that can reduce the oxygen need of cells as a potential extremely useful medical application? also do you thinks cryogenicly freezeing peoples brains or bodys could viably retreive the min the future?

also what do you think about consciousness? do you believe it resides just in the brain? or is the brain a filter?

pic related its what ive been doing video game level design but im very interested in the human brain and cryonics.

bump. These used to be pretty popular.

Will my gandpa live hea 72 with open heart surgery Tuesday

How hard is it OP? Also, best way to avoid cancer, or are you just a operator? Does the body give any early hints of cancer?

News to me.

We cool transplants and people s/p cardiac arrest all the time. Not sure how well we can freeze and thaw whole people yet.

Consciousness is probably a meshwork of brain processes. Doesn't mean it's not remarkable.

Probably. No surgeon really offers elective surgery unless he thinks the patient will live.

Will smoking give me cancer?
.5 packs a day.

My job is difficult physically, mentally, and emotionally. My big operations last >15 hours. I work on the most complex anatomy of the body (head and neck). And of the new patients that meet me, 50% will be dead of their disease within 3 years.

Avoid cancer? Don't smoke, take it easy on the booze, don't suck strange dick or eat strange pussy (HPV).

i'm starting work at MSK in radiology 7/5. Is it depressing talking to your patients, knowing they will likely die in months?

how do you see shit here?

Can be. Often my job to tell them that. But it's balanced by the wins.

Study. Knowing every millimeter of head and neck anatomy and anatomic variations. Things get hard when distorted by tumors or prior radiation. Clean necks like the quoted are not too bad.

Worst medical mistake you or an associate made?

Why they did that to the poor man?

How long until he gets an implant to replace the lost bone?

Personally, hard to say. I haven't killed anyone on table or anything. Some operations that didn't go great with positive margins or aborting intraoperatively.

Cancer. The tumor has GOT to go.

So I smoke 2-3 cigars per year. How much higher is my cancer risk?

I've been smoking a pack per weekend since I was 15 (I'm 18 now).
Am I likely to have cancer?
Also, your job is awesome man

But he died? I can see an artery there, and his face got fucked up badly.

woul've never guessed he had surgery
hope youre a good medic OP

Immediately. Pic related.

Minimal.

Quit now. You never want to meet me.

There's literally a pic of the patient one year later. He lived.

Anyone ever leave your table prettier than they started?

What are the metallic-looking things?

Coming from a pharmacyfag, I like you surgeons.

You tend to stick to what you know and don't try to be experts in things you're not as familiar with.

What percent of your patients were smokers?

Rarely, but some of my operations are cosmetic/functional operations to correct issues after prior cancer surgeries. E.g. excessive scarring and tethering from prior neck dissections.

It's a fibula that's been sawn into small pieces and plated (the metal pieces) into a jawbone.

My fibulas looks a lot better than this. I use pre-templated cuts and plates to create perfect reconstructions. Tech these days is unbelieveable.

That's true. I'm a hyper-specialist (head and neck cancer surgery and reconstruction) and I know it.

75%.

Im interested in becoming a surgical tech/assistant.

I cant handle anything I'll even hold a bloody open wound with my bare hand if i have to. My only weakness is smells. Are there putrid scents in the air while operating?

What duties does a surg tech have besides preparing/sanitizing the proper tools for a surgery?

I meant to say i CAN handle anything

Have u ever tried to secretly kill someone?

I'm a chem student wanting to go into pharmacy. How hard is it compared to a regular B.Sc?

Dem trips boi

how the fuck do you put the face back together?

Tips for college and med school?

So basically. Fun = cancer.

Meh

what's all the black stuff, dried blood? It looks like roasted pork to me.

With his hands

How do you get paid? Is it per-surgery?

it's cancer

Have a lump behind nipple in my breast (male) do I have the cancers

Hurts to touch and is about 5 milameters wide and tall, only in one

If it's of a consistent shape, has well defined/feelable edges, and there's no changes to skin or nipple, then it's almost definitely benign

Have you operated on a person with synovial sarcoma? I ask because I had a tumor the size of a grapefruit removed from my back almost a year ago.

Well I have that then, thanks man

Learn how to find/feel your lymph nodes under armpit and down to side of breast as well. Just have a feel of the lump once a month or so and your lymph nodes in that area. If changes then obviously bad

what do you spend your money on?

are women more attracted to you once they learn you're an educated and wealthy man, or is the shallow whoreness of women a myth?

>hot gif for your trouble.

What procedure are you doing on this picture? Also does smoking weed cause cancer?

according to r/trees, smoking weed gives you genius level intelligence, cures cancer, AIDS, and makes your dick grow two extra inches.

What if you don't have a dick?

then you can birth twins in parallel and give them genius level brains.

If you're still here op...have a friend who developed a thyroid nodule. He is 28, doesn't smoke (not even weed), healthy, drinks occasionally. Why did he get it? Biopsy is negative. Prognosis?

Has he blown any niggers in the past 2 years?

one or two...

why are people missing a lateral aspect of maxillary between foramen mentale to retro-parotid somethin something something

i've had heartburn nearly every day for 12 years. its probably oesophageal cancer, right?

are you a maxillo-faciliary surgeon?

Do you make like ~300k?

Medfag here too

I'm 28. Have smoked about 3/4-1 pack a day for 10 years. Smoked an occasional cig before that but like 5 or less a week maybe. Also had parents who heavy smoked indoors and in cars for 20 years of my life. Also am a firefighter. Also both grandpa's died of lung cancer. How fucked am I cancer wise even if I quit smoking today and try my hardest to avoid second hand smoke in life?

They removed because it most likely was abscessed, damaged or had a large tumor attached to it.

fucking kek.

stop eating junk food and soda you poor nigger.

non acidic veggies and water will cure your ass in 2 to 3 weeks.

also, dont eat before you sleep. cause gravity.

So what's happening in that pic

guy swallowed a penny. they're looking for it.

You have 5 weeks.

Cheek has been opened, section of jaw removed because there was a tumor on the maxillary.

i rarely eat junk, never soda (/fit/fag)

Mega fucked.

Stop now.

What was your undergrad in, your MCAT score, specific medical specialization and how long was your residency?

...

...

How do you make the patients in the middle of the surgery not to bleed a gallon per min and last >15 hours? The blood still pumps but doesnt lgfrjdldnxoso all over the place does it?

How do cigars affect my likelyhood of getting cancer ?

Here's another to add to your collection OP

You ever play with somebody's tits while they were asleep and nobody was watching?

>pic related. those are tits.

Ive been smoking a pack of camels a day for roughly 15 years. How long till i should seriously start thinking about cancer?

How many HPV-related ailments do you see? I've heard of it involved with cervical cancer, but not mouth, jaw, or throat.

did anjelina jolie did the right thing?

Its definately been linked to throat cancer. Google, faggot

Do you have HPV?

Not OP, but you should quit while you can. Cancer is a bitch.

Just so hard

Premed here, I want to do surgery, what specialty do you recommend

I know. I smoked for a good 10-ish years before I looked into all the negative side-effects and such.

You'll look like a tool if you do it in public, but I've heard people get good results with a vape pen with vape juice that has nicotine in it.

Thanks. What do the sinuses do (besides get infected)?

Based on the expected Sup Forums demographic, I'd say you probably don't have cancer. See:
kidshealth.org/en/teens/expert-guy-breast.html

that's fucking complicated.

You can't there is at least four other people in the room with you, circulating nurse, anesthesia, surgical tech, and PA/Nurse/Resident, there is also sometimes someone who goes and gets different sized parts.

u grow one

thats how trap girls are made

bioscience is hell on earth user.

But does he have gynecomastia, that is the real question

i have ridiculous tatts i never show any1
>they COMPLETELY ruined my life

I had an operation years ago, u think all the docs/nurses kek'd at them while i was gone?

What do you do/suggest others do to avoid cancer?

They probably wouldn't say anything unless you pissed them off.

Eat lots of fruits/vegetables, don't do any drugs (include smoking/alcohol) and exercise a t least 30 minutes a day (can be just walking)

Can you fix Tjornborn's turrets?

I had an ENT cut out part of my tongue when I was 25. Lucky I didn't lose my tongue. Thanks for your work.

What's this on my neck, OP

guy fell on horse shit neck first.

faggotry

probably fapped to too many trap threads

jokes on you user, you already got cancer

what the fuck is that

I have a slight underbite and have been told it can be corrected with jaw surgery. It would be purely cosmetic I have no health issue otherwise. Would it be worth it?

lol same here. I'm planning on doing it to avoid tmj, plus my smile always looks creepy
