I was a very liberal person before I discovered John Maus

After hearing him, I became a national socialist

It just seems to make sense to me some how

Wait, how is John Maus natsoc?

yeah he changed my life
>lets kill all the cops tonite
the fucking madman

His music induces genocidal thoughts

he's actually a hipster marxist

>liberal
>Nazi
what's the difference?

Nah. He's a portmodern, metamodern artist who addresses leftist thought with an individualistic yet collective approach; tolerance personafied. The kind of person we forget about each election cycle essentially (on face value alone). He jumbles up conservative ideas and even religious ideas with liberal ones in practice, and althought there is room for "deeper meaning", ultimately it just sounds like lib shit. A simple contrast is a song like "tenebrae", versus something like "rights for gays". Something a true believer would never preach for - in favor of. He is a good musician, but I perceive him as someone in conflict, not with authenticity, but with core values he either unknowingly, or deliberaely denies himself, to leave room for possibility (see postmodernism).

I guess a lot of us can probably identify with him to some extent, maybe not not all of us in this context, but whatever.

shut the fuck up faggot

John pls

is there anything I'm misunderstanding? Maybe you guys can expand on his work.

I still like a lot of his work, beside the point I've made. "And heaven turned to her weeping" and "the river" are some of my favorites, I respect his work, but I don't perceive it as something fully conservative, just..mostly?

He's definitely affected my life. The song bashing soros is in my 2013 top 5

which song?

he complicates things he could otherwise simply accept. this is why his personality is something I feel is in conflict. a simple yes or no answer becomes a postmodern ramble about distancing oneself from what is created while still accepting it is what it is. I've seen this interview before. But you know, with passing time I can truly appreciate artists that are about one thing and they don't drift from the one thing even to try and explain it or themselves. poatmodernism is a wall imo.

this
the one about the holocaust being fake was a banger too

I actually enjoy that he complicates thing(Shows he's being sincere). sick of these artist who talk in vague motives without being clear if they understand anything at all.
I feel like john is more new sincerity than postmodern tbqh
would be cool seeing john + DFW rant

still vague how some of his songs appear so pro lib in practice though

not saying "it's a stain on his record" or no gay shit like that, nobodies perfect, I wouldn't condemn the guy, but I feel he could be more blunt in saying, "i support faggots" or "i do not support faggots", i feel like that song (rights for gays) is more of a joke than something serious, but the authenticity strikes again, and I wonder.

Apparently someone is writing he was on MDE bein all pro Trump, which is nice. But do you think it's a recent thing (his blunt approval of Trump) or something he always agreed with?

Last I heard he was real anti-capitalism? i dunno, feel like there is too much not being said.

I think hes in the trump is just a placeholder until somebody better comes along. but you could be right about him being anti-capitalism

which implies socialism, not a fan of that, not even a little bit.

>What we really want to do is to be left alone. We don't want Negroes around. We don't need Negroes around. We're not asking -- you know, we don't want to have them, you know, for our culture. We simply want our own country and our own society. That's in no way exploitive at all. We want our own society, our own nation.

What did he mean by this?

He was on MDE but didn't do anything pro-Trump. He did the "Cop Killer" song.

he also stood next to charls as he pointed at his trump beanie and yelled "vote trump" into the camera

top kek

OOOHHH
so fucking what
It's your fault for taking bullshit politics seriously
Believe what you want but I know MDE through a mutual friend and they're just chaotic in terms of politics and they just like to offend people in any way possible
They're all really apolitical

just saying, no need to be rude

What a scumbag. Can't be he would support a racist, xenophobic, homophobic candidate
