Name some artists that did heroin, I'm doing a research project on different drugs and their associations with bands and I'm struggling to think of many for heroin (outside of Ministry).

You instantly feel no pain, mental or otherwise. You feel euphoria instead. You drift between being awake and a dreamlike state. When it wears off you feel like complete shit, are depressed and anxious and in physical pain, thus you go get more heroin. The cycle continues.

A little bit under the radar, but Josh Brown of Full Devil Jacket had an overdose while on tour. He quit music for a while and cleaned up, starting Day of Fire before finally reforming FDJ a few years ago.
Phil Anselmo had an OD while on tour.

Steven Drozd, Flaming Lips drummer, was really into heroine. He ended up getting an infection in his hand and had to go to the hospital so he wouldn't lose it. He told Wayne that it was a spider bite and the resulting lyrics were entirely genuine but now that wayne lnows they are tounge-in-cheek.

Damon Albarn did a lot of heroin in the late 90's while recording 13 and Gorillaz self-titled album. He's talked in a few interviews about his habit and schedules during that time, and how it changed his life. He claims it made him much more creative, and though he stopped doing it and doesn't really encourage it, he can't deny it changed his life for the better.
