Joanna Newsom - Only Skin
One of Bardo Pond's long improv pieces:

this one always just hit me right
By the band that Deftones modeled their sound after. Perfect alt-rock.

idioteque- radiohead
I like Hum a lot. But I have to be autistic and tell you that Deftones started in 1988 and Hum in 1989.
You're right, I phrased that wrong. YPAA was cited by Chino Moreno as a source for inspiration for the guitar tones on White Pony, among other things. I'd pull up the interview on Quietus' website, but the website seems to be down for me.
It was mainly because Knife Party reminds me so much of Little Dipper.
It would be neat if these old bands who were really creative and advanced for there time would do a tour together. I'd love to see Deftones, Hum and Failure playing together.

It saddens me really. I wish the bands I like had more popularity so they could do bigger and better tours.
Christmas with the Channellers from Create Christ, Sailor Boy
Very nearly had a spiritual experience listening to it whilst walking home in the dark the other night
Hum and Failure played shows together, and once Hum finishes their new album they'll probably go on a bigger tour. I just wish more younger bands used big guitar sounds like Deftones/Hum/Failure/Pumpkins.
I really just want a tour of everyone you listed playing together in a tour next year. I wonder how well it would sell.
Failure seems to be doing well for themselves.
Billy Corgan needs to figure out how to make good music again, though.

>YMO
I like Sakamoto's soundtrack work, but I've never given YMO a serious listen. I should get around to that.
To Me it's Cosmia, But the whole Album is quite special
The Beatles - Let It Be
Fela Kuti - International Thief Thief
Julia Holter - Betsy on the Roof
Marvin Gaye - What's Going On?
Bjork - Unison
Arcade Fire - Afterlife/Supersymmetry
Robbie Basho - Venus In Cancer
Kamasi Washington - Leroy & Lanisha
Greatest Album of the 90's hands down
Brand New - Untitled
perfectly looped and woven guitars
long hallway and fumbled mic.
an elevator door opening at 0:21?
a woman sobbing at 0:47?
“I can never listen” (?)
“I could never kiss her” (?)
all beautiful and sad and unsettling.

Honest review time here
Doesn't sound bad but sounds generic. Nothing stands out as special to me.
This song is odd. I like it. I feel like if I listened to it a few more time I would come to love it but as is it was hard to follow because of it's unique stylization.
Another not bad, but feels generic to me song.
It's a, it's an improv alright.
wtf this song sucks.
Nice. But yet again feels generic. Nothing makes it stand out to me.
I like the soft aquatic sound in this one
(((radiohead)))
Meh. Looooongggg and booorrrrinnngggggggg.
Meh. Generic again.
Now that is what I was hoping to see when I entered the thread. What a delightfully interesting sound.
Oh yeah, this one is interesting too. I really like it!
I can't tell if this is good or bad. By my logic that means it is in fact amazing.
Another masterpiece that also happens to sound like every other generic rock song I have ever heard. Yawn.
Great song.
First few seconds in I can already tell this will be a good one. Me again just having finished it. Fantastic!
Anyway here is my contribution
Count Zero - Cure of a Kiss

Shine on you crazy diamond, parts 1-5, by Ponk Floyd. The other 4 parts are good as well, but the beauty of this song is unmatched so far, imo, by any other song I've heard.
