I would label stuff like Big Black and Early Swans and Brainbombs noise rock but not Sonic Youth, they are too easy on the ear.
The Stooges sounds more like noise rock than what i heard of these albums

There is plenty of crossover between genres. Not all noise music has to sound like Albini-core. I would easily call early Dino-jr. noise rock, even though not every song is a feedback drenched noise experiment.
