Was spock a Sanders-esque socialist?

was spock a Sanders-esque socialist?

>socialist
>bad

fuck off back to russia, commie

Socialism as a concept is not bad. Just as social justice as a concept is not bad.
In practice they're the shit stains of humanity though

implying Sanders, the manipulating card-playing lazy slob would sacrifice anything of his own for anyone.

Were you born retarded? The entire federation was a socialist utopia, you moronic fuckwad. Did you ever even watch Star Trek, or just heard that quote and got triggered like a bitch?
What a dumb sack of shit, fuck you.

>using fiction to support your beliefs

wat

>socialist utopia
like venezuela???

He is extremely intelligent so probably.

For the tenth time, you can't describe a post-scarcity society as 'socialist'

He thinks logically, so yes.

That's Benthamism

If he was, it was Kirk's capitalism that saved his ass.

Leanord Nimoy directed a movie that was all about Spock's ideology getting BTFO. Then he appeared in the 2009 Abrams film just so he could tell the new Spock "don't listen to logic all the time."

What I wanna know is, who does the cleaning on the Enterprise, why do we never see the cleaning lady?...Somebody has to mop those floors, they're always so shiny and clean

>magic machine that can replicate anything
Literally the only way socialism/communism would work.

Basically anything with the word "social" in it is a red flag.

Hardly.

In a universe were all labor is mechanized and you can materialize resources, socialism is the best choice.

it most definitely is

>socialism
>logic

>In a universe were all labor is mechanized and you can materialize resources, socialism is the best choice.
But then nobody actually works so nobody gets anything because it's not their own labor. Except for the robots I guess.

socialism should be the end goal of any economy but what many don't realise is capitalism is the best way of achieving it. a good example would be the basic universal income which could and should be something we work towards while machines continue to take traditionally working class jobs.

>But then nobody actually works so nobody gets anything because it's not their own labor. Except for the robots I guess.
Anyone gets everything because you can literally create anything you want out of thin air.

>nobody actually works
Most people in the Federation work. They do for self-fulfillment and the betterment of the Federation.

Thank Christ the US never had to stand in line for basic supplies
oh wait....

This is what I keep trying to tell this retards who are trying to apply the word 'socialist' to a society without scarcity. Socialism as it exists in contrast to capitalism or communism has to do with treatment of redistribution and government control.
When you can replicate food and shelter almost effortlessly there is no need to 'redistribute' anything or have taxes at all. It would be a waste to NOT give the free stuff to anyone who wanted it.

This.

I started reading this thread in disappointment but then you showed up. Good to know you exist. You go, you.

>government mandated thievery by means of force, violence and coercion
>good

Capitalism allows the needs of the few to be fulfilled by having them fulfill the needs of the many.

Go home, Ayn - you're drunk!!
