Blair Witch is one of my favorite movies of all time actually
havent seen a found footage movie I have liked since.

you need to see more of them. people like more than just blair witch.

I have seen plenty, bud. Recommend some that you consider great.

Have you seen The Borderlands?

What the fuck happened to the sequels?

was that the one where they were investigating some Church that somehow turned into a batshit maze? If its that one then it was alright.

The sequels had their good points, I liked the Magician one in the VHS 3, and the Zombie and spoopy Alien ones in 2,

are they making a 4th one?

What's the best found footage film on Netflix right now?

Grave Encounters is my second favorite found footage first being Cloverfield, too bad the ruined it with sequel.
The second one was the best

the cult segment in 2 was solid, otherwise everything in the sequels was p bad

reminder that poughkeepsie tapes is complete garbage

also reminder that op has severe autism and used to make this thread near-constantly despite literally nobody caring

Nobody cares about Shitflix. We torrent.

Creep was fantastic! Easily one of my top found footage movies

Noroi: The Curse is an alright watch.

fuck you I liked VHS Viral.

The extended segment is good

Sorry but you are in the minority there.

Do people legitimately like Grave Encounters?

I thought it was rotten shit, and the sequel was even worse

>that horrible wraparound story in viral

at least it was unintrusive in 1 and 2

It wasn't bad

It's in that bad, but still enjoyable category for me.

REC was the only legit good one I saw.

>night vision shot of dark room
>human figure or child sitting in corner with back turned
>turns head, spooky face

when will this cliche end? jump scare horror is cancer. they keep making them because new generations of young people keep seeing them. movies like that are literally "BOO" stretched out into a movie. it's horror for 5 year olds.

Literally Sup Forums: the found footage movie

>Be My Cat: A Film for Anne is a 2015 English-language Romanian found footage horror movie directed, produced and written by Adrian Čšofei, about a young man going to shocking extremes to convince Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway to play in his film

vimeo.com/117598537

And it's actually supposed to be good.

VHS viral might be the worst movie I have ever seen. I'm not even exaggerating. That movie was so fucking insulting, stupid and pointless. Fuck that movie

There's far worse out there.

I loved that

wtf is this shit

same

Found footage films are mostly a Cancer on horror movies desu

Anyone seen Monsters? It's not exactly spooky but it's probably the prettiest found footage movie iv ever seen

I laughed out loud throughout most of the movie, especially after the girl in the corner.

The effects were so bad.

That stock sound dinosaur roar I've heard since cartoons in the 80s...

lake mungo is surprisingly decent

horror movies are mostly a cancer on horror movies. the entire genre is 72% garbage.

lake mungo is found footage done right. good acting, believable context for the 'footage', and constantly unnerving atmosphere. it's the first horror movie that actually gave me trouble sleeping

Finally, smart people who appreciate Lake Mungo. I can't believe some people think it's bad because of the lack of jumpscares.

>Be My Cat: A Film for Anne
holy shit that trailer

I liked it

>the lack of jumpscares.
and that's half the reason it works so well. it maintains a steadily rising sense of unease with intermittent creepy shit. all the way through to the end of the credits.

>Blair Witch
>REC
>Monsters
>VHS
VHS was so so, but I add it to the list for the weird succubus'ish short.

Blair Witch though was amazing. I saw it when it came out, but before they dropped the hype campaign. BW is easily the best marketing campaign for a movie I've ever seen and heard.

I thought Unfriended was one of the most retarded movies I'd ever seen until I read that they essentially did the entire move as a long take, with everyone being in the same house.

I actually thought Unfriended ended up being much better than I expected.

The sequel surprised me in a good way with its fantasy elements. And when the guy gets his camera back and starts trying to do his show. Lots of shit but some moments were solid

oh great yet another general for redditors

Bump

I don't think they ruined it, just wasted the potential, it was still decent for what it was.

I can't wait for this.

Unfriended was an excellent use of the computers etc, the story was too simple though.

Glad to see there's another one up. I have so much watching to do and discuss.

I have, I don't remember it being all that compelling, but it had some really nice scenery.

>vimeo.com/117598537
HOLY FUCK

Just remembered something sort of interesting. It's called Final Flesh and the idea behind it was writing into custom porn companies and requesting the most inane things possible, meant to be more comedy than horror, but I imagine some comes off intensely creepy. Should be able to find a torrent somewhere.

sounds stupid

I can't imagine there's much to be gained from it, but at least it's different.

There was a short film on youtube a few years ago about a group of guys driving a car at night. At some point they notice that when they drive further down the road in a certain direction, they are sent back to the beginning of the road.

Does anyone know the name of that movie?

No Through Road.

i know right?

...

I'm gonna try and watch this soon.

Adrian pls go

me too

Im working on a found footage film. It's about the salem witch trials.

they had cameras back then? Sick.

What the FUCK is her problem?

Ran out of brownies.

That's all this board is. It's this horrible intersection of Reddit and /r9k/.

Are you retarded?

tell us more

I am addicted to these. Wish I could get all of the good ones and watch them back to back.

nerve gas

kek

>walking in the woods with a few friends on a long hike
>someone finds an old camera, VHS kind with those mini-tapes still in it
>we leave it behind because found footage is shit

Best found footage movie coming through

youtube.com/watch?v=tJbR_ase5fY&ab_channel=MovieclipsFilmFestivals&IndieFilms

>2 million views

I wonder if the thumbnail had something to do with that

Probably been asked a lot, but is there any stuff similar to marble hornets? Disjointed and clearly amateur work

Yeah I thought that was funny considering hardly anyone even knows about this movie

sounds neat, yall convinced me to dl it

also no quarantine yet?
i fucking love that movie. theres a few things that happen in the background that absolutely make the movie for me.

>implying you have to be smart to enjoy that piece of shit

m8, i like slow burning horror films, but this film was shit

one of few remakes that is better than the original

quarantine was worse than the original

...

Lake Mungo is awful. People only pretend to like it because of that meme scene.

Lake Mungo is basically a litmus test for intelligence. Only idiots hate it.

>says the retard

>hurr durr Lake munger isn't gud cuz thurs nuh jump scurz! I luv jump scurz!!!!!!

I marathoned the first 10 minutes of Diary of the Dead and it seemed pretty good.

Ya'll niggas seen noroi: The Curse? It's probably my favorite Found Footage movie, and i've seen a lot.

I thought VHS 2 was far superior to the first film.

Viral though, was shocking. I couldn't believe how much they fucked up.

This. V/H/S 1 is a solid flick but the stories are very twist heavy and while effective, only really work once. Tuesday the 17th is the only bad one (because its just a worse slenderman) but on the whole it's a flick you watch once, maybe twice.

2 however is just fantastic. Safe Haven is by far the best short in the series and could easily be adapted into a fuller story. Slumber Party Alien Abduction was deceptively spooky despite it's title and Clinical Trials is interesting and engaging. Walk In The park is the only bad one and even then it's a good idea that just comes out boring.

Viral is trash. Parallel Monsters is the only interesting one and even then it's very obvious hat the twist will be and only works because it has that weird sex thing going on. The other two are too comical to be scary or tense and while that would be fine for one of them, it's half of the film not even trying to be scary.

who here followed this shit till the end?

Marble Hornets was pretty good. It was breaking new ground for the youtube horror community and while it ended up abandoning it's monster for a crazy guy and ruining it's narrative in the process, it still has a lot of good spooks.

dis jawn iz da bess

>I marathoned the first 10 minutes

You're retarded.

I remember getting into the series in the early 2010s but I never kept up with it. Basically everything I've heard about the movie about it has been bad.

the movie is fucking awful, but it has no connection to the series other than the name. Like, i don't think anyone who made the series was involved in the movie.

The Borderlands confirmed from best found footage film since TBWP.

As voted fro by me
Roger Ebert
That black fag
and your mum

the dirties is the best found footage movie ever made. Pure kino. Debate me.

Still the best found footage kino.

But Noroi The Curse exists

Just watched this some hours ago, pretty good

tfw norwegian and seeing the movie bizz pick up norwegians left and right, also for using our word for cinema.

too much CGI for found footage

Would have been more interesting if you could actually see shit underground

Should I get really drunk and watch Grave Encounters? Those kind of movies scare the fuck out of when sober, but when I'm drunk as a skunk they are actually enjoyable and I'm not scared.
