Sciencefags please help

If water (H2O) contains oxygen, why can't humans breathe underwater?

pic somewhat related

You can't?
Fucking pleb

H2O got an ass

it looks like a butt in a red swimsuit xD xD xD

Why not post in science you fucking mefftoid

We inhale O2 not O

same way if you breath CO2, which also has oxygen, same way if you breath Ozone, which is like super oxygen, O3.

Because it CONTAINS, oxygen it's not oxygen, air you breathe contains oxygen and some other shit.

because the hydrogen and oxygen share a molecular bond and our lungs can't separate them.

Shit contains some of your lunch, why don't you eat it?

Molecules =/= Atoms

Every Molecule has its own interactions.

Molecules are combinations of atoms.

Water is H2O very different molecule than O2 the stuff you breath.

However, H2O is a very good solvent and also contains O2 in small quantities, this is filtered by fishes to breath. Humans and most mammals use a lot of oxygen, the lungs are very efficient and have a lot of surface area to get as much oxygen as possible.

Because we can breath only gasses

Get some basic chemistry courses and you will understand.
Water is (besides carbon dioxide) the final product of oxygen uptake while you breathe.
Your idea of breathing under water has it's equivalent in the idea of constantly eating your shit and never suffer from hunger.

Pasta.

We have no way to separate the hydrogen from the oxygen

(Excuse my english, frenchfag here)
Respiration work with one simple interaction : when you have a thin wall and two thing at both sides of the wall but not the same amount of thing at both sides, they tend to equilibrate that amount by moving to a the side of the wall that countain the less thing.
So you have the pulmonar membrane, oxygen at both sides but the blood contain less oxygen than the air, so the oxygen move trough the pulmonar membrane and go to your blood.
The point is that oxygen is not the smae thing as Water, even if water do contain some atoms of oxygen, it doesn't act the same way.
That's why you can't breath water.

Because god made us that way.

so would you believe the ugly guys losers when the ugly guys losers is better then the popular people that is ugly as shit and smell like shit like beyonce well thats what the ugly guys losers and the ugly people losers do that is ugly as shit and is lame as shit and smell like shit like beyonce and is ugly and try to be better then everybody and the popular people and thats another proof the popular people proved the ugly people losers like the ugly guys losers that smell like shit like beyonce is pathatic and got rejected by the popular people and is ugly as shit with there ugly as shit faces and is lame and is ugly

This pretty much.

Most chemical reactions either produce energy or consume energy.

Burning produces heat energy.

Cooking food requires energy

Electrolysis is a process of using electrical energy, in water what happens is you produce Oxygen gas (O2) hydrogen gas. Thus there is a way of splitting molecules, but some reactions take energy.

If air contains oxygen why can fish not breathe in air ?
