First for goats.

Moving this in here then.

I just finished with Arkhtinn I - III and I've to say it was really good. When hearing them in a row you feel how the music developes, with III clearly being the climax.
It's been a very comfy ride.
Anyone got something similar?

i wish i would have a brain aneurysm in my sleep, someone fucking kill me

>tfw want to draw your own covers but are so shit at drawing that you don't want it to end up looking like hedge wizards album cover

Varg and Euronymous most likely experimented with each other. Get over it.

Spanish and Portuguese scenes and also closer listening to Woddrea Mylenstede which is a bit like Dead C noise rock applied to black metal.

I'll get off over it. That's literally the hottest "ship" I can think of

Seventh for French Nationalistic Black Metal

ofc they did. Varg killed him so Euro could never tell anyone.
Dead once found a shitcovered dildo in Euros room, he knew aswell. That's why Varg sent him the ammo for his rifle

also the most romantic, two lovers, one ends up killing the other and spending his life regretting his choice because of the life they could have had

I know this feel. A tape cover I tried to make (to be fair, this was 6 years ago, but it's not like I've improved significantly).

I ship black metal artists and kpop idols and don't give a shit what anyone else thinks of it.

Too bad fair if you made everything darker and grimmer it'd probably work for a old obscure BM tape

that ship isn't as hot as oystein and varg though because it probably really happened

Not a big black metal fan here but I'm wondering whether you guys feel happiness or a particularly broad range of emotions in general listening to black metal? There's so much negative emotion in all the stuff I've heard which can be really great catharsis but I can't picture myself listening to a whole month of it, I'd be so down.

im always pretty depressed, /nbbmn/ is really the happiest time of the year for me

You can make them look a bit better if you mess around with a photo editor but you still have to have something to go on

I'm always down though it's not much different because otherwise i'd listen to 90% bm and some various other negative genres.

>Forteresse, DsO, Orannsi Pazuzu, Behexen

Great records. I dismissed Anicon as boring when I listened to them, but now I've seen so many people lauding them. I guess I have to give them another chance.

Depends what you go in looking for, there's black metal for everything.
It's a diverse genre, for sure.

Do you write any slash fic?

Sehnflucht? Netter Neologismus. Kann man sich das irgendwo anhören?

Varg is so defensive about it. I doubt he will ever spill the beans about his more intimate and private moments with Euronymous.

that makes it even better, a forbidden love if you will

Thanks man. Next time, I should also draw this stuff while sitting at a table instead of riding a bus through the Spanish countryside (at least I think that's what I did). At the moment, I just take pictures and edit them a little since the music isn't that grim anyway (for the cover and music see sehnflucht.bandcamp.com ). But I definitely want to make the logo happen at some point.

shill your music /nbbmn/

>shitty black metal

you can't really constrain the spectrum of experience for the interpretation for any given music (or art in general). I wish I still had this article I read years ago but it was something along the lines of metal listeners preferring 'traditionally viewed' loud, abrasive music in hospital stays over generic radio music to soothe them. The gist is that once a person has aligned their mental framework, people can find beauty in (ostensible) 'ugliness'.

hey this isnt shitty, you posted it yesterday. i think it's good man

Kann man.
Funkenflug wird wohl erst die nächste Demo, aber Liedideen von damals sind dabei

sehnflucht.bandcamp.com
It's a mixture of atmospheric black metal and whatever I feel like doing.

140 pages and mostly VargxEunha FenrisxTaeyeon.

if i didnt know better i would think this is actually a bm artist

link pls

I'm my own harshest critic, I should really just shit out albums

Do you figure that's cause of the cool community here or the music?
Tbf, if I had depression, I probably would too.
Any recs for stuff you'd call overtly happy? Doesn't necessarily have to be all major chords and no distortion but I'm curious to see how it'd be done with this sort of aesthetic.
This is an answer I was expecting and kinda hoping I'd get. When I was younger I listened to mostly pop and rock but gradually started getting into jazz and then classical. My first experiences with both of them were similar to how a lot of people hear them: boring and everything sounding the same. I kinda just acclimatised after listening to crossover stuff and trying more stuff out every so often and now I much prefer both of them.
To my ears, the black metal I've heard sounds either aggressive or downcast but I figured that might be partially because I'm unfamiliar with the language.

well seeing as i always listen to black metal and its always alone, the community

Just take photos in the dark and then greyscale them

Klingt ganz brauchbar. Bin zwar nicht unbedingt ein Fan von Cleargesang im BM, aber hier passts.
Kommt auch leicht Neofolklastig rüber

/nbbmn/ should probably make an essential happy/uplifting bm chart

here's a track that is a bit more 'happy' and goofy as fuck

youtube.com/watch?v=KeRKgp-qc-k

Can't name any overtly "happy" albums myself, sure someone else can assist there
More of an atmosphere guy myself

Say what you want about Kanwulf, but his music is just great. And while Frühling is uplifting, Herbst is one of the most melancholic pices I've heared, he perfectly covered the seasons.

Happy Black Metal?
gotchu senpai
Even tho the lyrics aren't happy at all

not bad. but what's with the creative song titles?

I think language is a decent metaphor for interpretation here and feel that appreciation for any genre can only be positively supplemented by getting an idea of the base history and ethos (of which aesthetics are necessarily a function of) to get where the art is coming from. I think raw exposure works as well but I was always big on ultimately framing stuff somehow for reference to context. You seem tactful so there's probably black metal out there you'd like if you tried hard enough.

drugs

That Necromancy cover is the bee's knees phamalam

oh yeah, I love Nargaroth. Jahreszeiten is a great album. Some parts always feel goofy to me though, like the absurd double-bass drum action on some of the tracks.

November's almost over. Soon we can stop pretending to like metal's most mediocre subgenre.

Post these

Honestly man this is very well done. Put out a fucking album.

you can go back now, you've got my (you)

It's honestly my opinion. I promise you.

(___)

Here's my blackened noise again.

great plaga album

Oops forgot link

demagogueproductions.bandcamp.com/album/axis-ov-death

Holy shit this isn't what I expected. I'm here crying laughing at this trying not to wake my flat mates up. Thanks user!
Cool. Sounds like it nearly could have been a Ramones cover or something.
>appreciation for any genre can only be positively supplemented by getting an idea of the base history and ethos
That's certainly been my experience in other genres aswell. Might go look into band histories and take in a few more classics. If there's more backstories half as interesting as Mayhem's I'd say it'd be a fun thing to research.
>there's probably black metal out there you'd like if you tried hard enough.
Oh I like most of what I've heard but I usually only listen to it when I've had a frustrating day or something though.
The only thing I can think of that I've actively disliked was Transilvanian Hunger. I listened through it twice a long while ago but I remember it hitting me like a brick to the face. Might give it another try though.

I'll try and put out a demo before the year ends, no promises though

>the Jews fear the samurai: the album art

*after intense love making*
Oystein : Kristian, will you marry me?
"Varg" : I don't know Oystein, what will they think of us?
Oystein : who cares what they think, lets move far away and leave behind this black metal
Kristian : *panics at the thought of ditching out on his side-lover Abbath* Oystein....I don't know
Oystein : come on, we'll be so happy *grabs kristians ass*
Kristian : *after thinking about how little he would make from his record, panics and stabs Oystein as he knows he would tell the other members of the Norge scene about their little love affair*
and that, /nbbmn/ is what really happened that night. of course Snorre was in the corner wanking thinking about E.Ts but that is a whole other story

great Moonblood

>Snorre was in the corner wanking thinking about E.Ts
flashbacks of that wierd E.T. porn, thanks

>music for this feel?

>Snorre was in the corner wanking thinking about E.Ts but that is a whole other story

THORNS

Do you guys know of any black metal influenced folk projects? Wardruna is the only one I know, started by Gorgoroth's old drummer Kvitrafn. I love this, it's like the atmosphere of black metal but with folk instruments.

that one fenriz did

ahulabrum - magonia
literally bm about ufos

Fuck yeah

I think at least half of this compilation (which is the GOAT comp imho desu) has bm influences or is by bands that have done bm (e.g., Ulver).

Essential listening for folk.

Why is that so kvlt
But yeah basic edits like these have gotten me far

Thanks I'll check it out

theres a face in the middle...

Yeah it's mine, making that probably the most kvlt selfie ever

i think it's more likely he killed him for some complicated pseudo-lovers' reason. they were obviously life partners, soulmates of a sort. that kind of shit goes very sour for unsophisticated young homoerotic friendships

>Yeah it's mine

thats horrifying

>tfw this is the best picture of me
Actually untrue. I posted a pic of myself earlier this month

were you the user who took the pic in helvete?

Uhh maybe
>inb4 yea is the more flattering pic

lol im not going to be a fag and say you looked like a poser like that other user did

I like to think I look like your average bm fan I dunno. Anyway all this talk of vargXeuro is making me sense/imagine homoeroticism everywhere so henceforth we're no longer discussing my appearance. MAN STUFF HURGGH BLASPHEMY IS THE BEST BAND

post G O A T S

you negroes are doing it wrong. You're supposed to crop out sections of woodcuts that are so old there are no copyright issues

whats not manly about wanting to see varg and oystein loving one another?

any good sources /sites for that

some say there is a lo-fi video of it that went around the black circle.

woops that isn't a woodcut, it's just a horror vacui work
I just google image search "woodcut." Gustave Dore did some great ones for Dante's Inferno but there are many more artists idk

uh......you wouldn't happen to have a link? not for anything degenerate, i just want to see that its real.....

Dat cover fucking slaps boi

ah, forgot about ketzer. wouldn't call them goats, but that album is definitely high up in the black/thrash rankings. shame the path they took with their new album.

Hey ihr BM-Typen. Wie untrue sind eigentlich Firtan? Kenn mich da nicht so aus...

Right on brothers of metal. its so cold that black metal is the only thing you can listen too haha.

(___)
take it and leave faggot

thanks for posting. filtered.

FUCKING SHIT FUCK. I JUST LISTENED TO BLACKENED PROGRESSIVE NOISE JAZZ, DID I LOSE THE GAME?

Goats the animal dude

Well the propaganda artists back in the day deserve most of the praise for that. I drew up both logos at least

kek

This is definitely the shittiest NBBMN thread of all time. Hopefully this is the final nail in the coffin.
