So I've read over these and cant help but feel it could apply quite well to F1. In what way is it unpredictable? Yes you can't predict a first corner crash or an engine blowout but car performance is very easy to predict and you can bet on qualifying too which takes the random factor out a bit more. I read something from James Allens blog a while ago about the strategists and the sheer size of data set they have to predict things. Surely that could be applied to betting as well no?

Just the nature of F1 betting. I dont think it lends itself to model-based betting. Even if you had all the data the engineers had, translating it into odds and finding value is impossible.
