any blackened djent?
DSBM sux
>xasthur
>blackened djent
Off to a great start here, keep it going. You've only got a week left of pretending like you listen to black metal anyway.
...
...
Depression is a serious issue. I hope my black metal brothers well through this dark winter. Smile once for rob
put your trip back on cuckpolice
>be cuckpolice
>spend all day putting cucks like you into labor camps
thank you this sounds great and they even got the new album
Grindcore > Black Metal
What's spinning /nbbmn/?
My personal AOTY

>Wrong
Blackened Grind > Black Metal > Grindcore
literally liturgy

...
what are some out-there moments in bm?
the intro imo:
...
black metal forever
BLACK TACOOO
ew are you diseased
in the mind
This album is amazing and very underrated imo
Wigrid is my favorite German black metal.
youtube.com
Might be my all-time favourite BM record.
Wigrid is best Burzum worship
8/10 - they really need to cut down the time on the dreamy "filler" tracks - the first song is 2 minutes longer than it needed to be.
But i did like it.
this is 13 minutes long you might as well just go listen to it right now
my stack is buzzing like a heck for whatever reason so nothing is spinning
GGUW is good shit
Evilfeast is also really good Burzum worship.
I have Lost Horizons of Wisdom, what else should i look at from them?
Lost Horizons of Wisdom is probably his best full album, but Wolves of Hyperborean Frost is my favorite thing he's ever done. It really feels like early Burzum, with part of the last song being a cover from Hliðskjálf. His whole discography is pretty consistent though, Mysteries of the Nocturnal Forest is also really nice.
cool man. Just the title of Wolves of the Hypoborean Forest sounds sick. I'llbe checking it out
>mfw someone says black metal is not the best metal
Sorry but the best subgenre is and will always be Heavy Metal
only good post this month quite honestly
Today I am thankful for black metal and for /nbbmn/
:)
What's up with this album?
It's so unlike any other Xasthur album. The album has much shorter songs than the rest of his discography, with Intros and Outros tossed around everywhere and seemingly no actual structure. Yet it flows well and creates a unique atmosphere compared to everything else he's done. Malefics vocals seem more human than before and even comprehensible at times. Dimensions of the Blackest Dark is what I imagine the Doomgrass sound was supposed to sound like on his newer stuff.
Definitely one of the more underrated Xasthur albums.
this.
I reckon a very small percentage of DSBM musicians are actually depressed, they're the ones that make the best music anyways.
>makes genre of music with the word "depressed" in it
>isnt actually depressed
Name some trve depressed bm bands/artists
Now I'm curious
I don't know, I feel like most are when they first start off but as relative success builds up they probably feel better. It would explain why all early albums from DSBM are good, while the quality fades as they get more and more popular.
name 1(one) popular dsbm that has gotten bad over time
which black metal album has the best drumming?
Post 'em!
Shining and Forgotten Tomb
thats two, opinion discarded
"No"
The topic of this thread, Xasthur.
They've basically became the same bland-sounding band though
t. striborg
Maybe I exaggerated a bit. But Scott from Xasthur legit has depression, although his last few DSBM albums were pretty average and not great.
Striborg as well. This Suffocating Existence was pretty bad. If we're talking about everyone from the Documentary though, then even Leviathan has lost it. Scar Sighted was pretty bad, and everything after the Speed of Darkness just isn't the same.
>inb4 Scar Sighted was good
He asked for one (1) you idiot, not two (2).
Agreed.
...
Striborg was the most consistent out of the Big Autistic Three in terms of music quality
This
I liked Scar Sighed it just wasn't DSBM
>implying they were any good to begin with
lifelover's last album sucked.
LITERALLY name a better DSBM album.
okay
I don't know, both Xasthur and Striborg had a great run of albums. Xasthur from 2000-2006 and Striborg from 2004-2008. Xasthur had a higher peak in 2004, while Striborg always released good albums but would get pretty similar to each other eventually.
Telepathic with the Deceased is the greatest DSBM album of all time.
easy, even the same band
>Telepathic with the Deceased is the greatest DSBM album of all time.
>liking weak vocals
Such fucking shitty album art
Easy
High energy vocals on this one.
all these plebs itt
youtube.com
amazing choice
yes, but i can't get a bunch of fellows to listen to nothing but it for a month, now can i
my man. this is my favorite dsbm album/artist too.
>"black" metal
>they're all white
...
...
>when you DSBM band member uses a fedora
fucking this
OFFICIAL BEST RIFFS IN DSBM
>Thy Light - A Crawling Worm in a World of Lies
>Trist - Nostalgie I
>Ghost Bath - Golden Number
ok.
>Ghost Bath
The vocals are goddamn amazing.
Wish I knew how to do those types of vocals.
Ghost Meme is goofy but the riff that kicks in on Golden Number is one of the best placed I have ever heard.
>the guitar starting at 1:46 on Golden Number
Gets me fucking every time
>Nostalgie II
>not the 1 note variation of II and III
but still, it's Trist.
Step 1
Say goodbye to your vocal chords
I will establish the metaphysical ecofascist pagan ethnostate
shit, I meant Nostalgie I on the first line obviously.
literally a u2 riff
>he wants to keep his vocal chords
fuckin pleb as shit
best blackened post punk riff ever
And?
That bad, eh?
>/"nothing but """black""" """"""metal""""""""""""" november"/
unironically one of the best USBM bands
>tfw you own Nostalgie I and II on vinyl
i want to die
