The ending of And You and I by Yes. It sounds so sweet and simple while acknowledging having reached some sort of peak while at the same time sounding vaguely ominous and foreboding, like it can't last. I think it's something about the way the song ends on a kind of unresolved note after ten minutes of constantly changing while still retaining the same melody. It really is one of the most emotionally effective tracks I've ever heard. It goes through seasons and goes from sounding like springtime in the beginning to sounding more seasoned and wooden, so you develop a sort of emotional connection with that piece. I feel like most music isn't made that thoughtfully. And You and I has the same thoughtfulness and development that would be given to like a novel or something.
