Von LMO - Cosmic Interception

...

I was never a big fan of scenery, but minor threat and comus are great
if you liked minor threat you might like Too Many Humans - No trend
Sailing the seagoat - spacious mind

It really isn't, though.

posting in the comfy chart thread

Does Sup Forums like good music ?

Rate Me and all that junk.

Like a lot of stuff towards the bottom

Some good stuff here.
I recently gave 'A Love Supreme' a listen and I really enjoyed it.

+++++Herbie Hancock
+++++That you chose Headhunters
---That you chose Sextant.

...

Yes but there's only 1 or 2 good musics on that chart.

Terry Riley - In C
Earl Sweatshirt - Solace
Son Lux - Lanterns
Timbre - Sun and Moon
Pharaoh Sanders - Karma

Sweet Trip - Velocity: Design: Comfort (if you haven't listened to this already, I'd be surprised, because it seems to check all the right boxes on your chart)
Oren Ambarchi - Grapes from the Estate
Heat Wave - I'm Fuckin You Tonight
Aoki Takamasa + Tujiko Noriko - 28

heyy i remember your chart
you should give that lil ugly mane album on my chart a listen, you might enjoy it quite a bit

>lil ugly mane
Is he a trap rapper? I don't typically like trap beats. But it MIGHT be an exception.

Don't really know why we're posting here, but sure.

Fantastic chart. Probably the best taste I've seen on Sup Forums.

nah, he's not a part of that whole meme rap/trap sound

hes an experimental memphis hip hop artist, works with these jazzy beats and dark and intense vocals/lyrics

i'd recommend starting with his ep Uneven Compromise

DUDE BLEEPS LMAO

Have you ever listened to Herbie Hancock?

is this the crosley cruiser starter kit?

I've only listened to Head Hunters which was trash. Others have recommended me to his earlier post-bop stuff so I might check those out.

...

>Head Hunters
>trash.

Ouchie. That hurt my soul.

Why didn't you like Headhunters?

Some of the most soulless jazz funk tripe I've heard, tbqh. Sounds like porno music.

>soulless jazz funk tripe
I respectfully disagree.

>Sounds like porno music.
Why does everyone say that??

Oh well, respect you for stating your P.O.V., to each his/her own.

This is pretty damn good.

yousa have a good taste
Karen Dalton
mogwai-young team
alice coltrane- world galaxy
herbie hancock-head hunters
grant green-idle moments
kero kero bonito
anyone got any film recs

i tried to make a new chart but it never stops rendering wtf

is that gambino album even out yet lmao
also kkb a shit

filmwise, obviously jadarowskys holy mountain and luis bunuel exterminating angel if you havent seen them

bretty good
Wrong Ash Ra Tempel album though
Urdog - Eyelid of the Moon
Liquid Visions - Endless Plasmic Childhood Overdose
Cosmic Circus Music - Wiesbaden 1973
I've seen worse here
Lol

>having Olivia Tremor Control as one of your top bands above The Zombies, and without inclusion of any top-tier classic psyche acts

This is cringe.

It's like if your favorite movie is the inferior remake to a sequel to a classic film you never even knew about.

I love how you organized it by shades. Very tasteful.

Good taste too.

but olivia tremor control is objectively better desu

Not him, but neo-psychedelia is fundamentally an improvement on traditional psych pop/rock.

Good taste except for The Meemees: Memey Time and Stereolab

Need recommendation

>a very long and comprehensive chart that starts almost entirely with mu-core in the top ten

Hmm... but if that's truly your taste then I'm glad.

...

...

90% of the chart is mucore

memein' taste my brother

...

>in the top ten

Facts lad

Nice meme
Great taste, can't think of any recs that you wouldn't probably know about
Dirty Three - Ocean Songs
You might like the Cardiacs - Sing to God if you haven't heard it already
Destroyer - Streethawk: a Seduction
Going out on a limb here but try Isis - Panopticon
Alpha Male Tea Party - Droids
Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat - An Interlude to the Outermost

The list is honestly my taste. There are days where I wish my Top 10 looked different, but I can't deny myself the fact that those are my favourite albums.
>I've heard the album, therefore it's Sup Forumscore
I guess every album in the RYM Top 10,000 is Sup Forumscore, right?
Been meaning to check that one out.

lol you have issues

I wouldn't agree but Olivia Tremor Control barely qualifies as even neo-psychedelia. They were trying their hardest to sound like the old stuff without innovating. It's mainly just a mish-mash of old tropes from the classics. lol

...

Olivia Tremor Control is 60s psych pop through a neo-psych lens, in the same sense that Tame Impala is 60s psych rock through the same lense. OTC improved upon the sound.

shuttle358 - frame

Fuck, Topsters 2 isn't working.

Use topsters 1 then, it works now.

...

The guy likes what he likes. Most Sup Forumscore is Sup Forumscore for a reason (that being, its good or at least interesting)

If you need to listen to purposely obscure music to feel better about yourself though, then you go on right ahead

What's the top ten!

Alexander Tcherepnin - Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 3; Festmusik; Symphonic March (Singapore Symphony Orchestra/Lan Shui; Noriko Ogawa)

Hayden - Skyscraper National Park

>mu core is mu core for a reason (that being, its good or at least interesting)
the whole point of the chart is frequently discussed albums, not quality.

also why are you insulting someone for exploring deeper into music? you cant just circlejerk over the same albums forever.

Fall Put Boy - Folie A Deux

While you're absolutely correct and I appreciate it, I don't really need your help. Being an inadvertent troll is quite entertaining, especially considering how many other people that frequently post charts have just as much Sup Forums shillings as I do, yet going after me gives them some sense of accomplishment.
>the whole point of the chart is frequently discussed albums, not quality.
>pic related

Frequently discussed albums are usually frequently discussed because a lot of people find value in them, or they have interesting qualities... I don't understand what point you are trying to make.

I'm not insulting people who look into deeper, more obscure music. I'm insulting people who think that there is something wrong with enjoying Sup Forumscore. My whole point is that people can enjoy whatever the hell they want, be it Sup Forumscore, obscure shit, whatever. But if they are only listening to obscure music to feel better about themselves, and to feel superior to people who openly enjoy Sup Forumscore, then they are fags.

Thank God, I'm not the only one that posts here with this mindset. I like you, user.

It didn't do any improving. I've played their songs to people and they always say something along the lines of, "So this is one of The Beatles' lesser tracks?"

Stop justifying your opinion just because admitting you prefer The Beatles is too mainstream.

pic related

>people cant enjoy whatever the hell they want, be it mu core, obscure shit, whatever
exactly
>if they are listening to obscure music to feel better about themselves
how do you know that they're doing this? maybe they really prefer all the albums on their chart.

I wasn't responding to people who posted charts... I was responding to people who were making fun of GrimesCuck for posting a chart with lots of Sup Forumscore on it. Are you legitimately autistic?

Look at my chart before you start making wild assumptions. Also, you know The Beatles weren't the only psych pop band in the late 60s, right?
Still not too sure what your point is.

i actually hate it, seems really tacky instead of letting the aesthetic come organically

hey

does this pass your test ?

youtube.com/watch?v=bKfF_sw61EI

plase respond
thanks in advance
tanks

Alright, whatever. Prefer Topsters 2 though.
Expanded the previous one.

I guess I don't really have one. I guess I just want people to explore beyond mu core and it seemed like the discussion was dismissing that?

Black Foliage is better than pretty much any Beatles album tbqh

wow ok

hey

hi, mr bown

does this pass your test ?

youtube.com/watch?v=jQnmnxOTsf8

youtube.com/watch?v=wAt-cAnrgjE

all well
god bless
thanks in advance
hope you can respond

I don't have much time left
take care
stay safe

see you on the other side

nice and funky, I dig it. Plus I'm a huge sucker for that 70s organ sound. Pretty fantastic, reminds me of some of Herbie's finer works

You might like Cortex - Troupeau Bleu

Just because I have Sup Forumscore on my chart doesn't mean I don't explore more obscure music.

well no duh I dont think that

What obscure music do you like?

You're just trying to trigger people with Sup Forums-core in your top ten. Since Sup Forums-core is considered to be so disdained you put it there to be the ultimate contrarian.

lol nope

what started as a promising beginning to a fruitful friendship descended into a catastrophe of a mediocre recommendation

try again mr. brown
I am sorry
mr. gown oh
mr. bown

godspeed

I haven't been on Sup Forums in months & forgot everybody had the exact same taste.

Albert Ayler - Ghosts

Oh my God so humorous.

Squarepusher - Go Plastic
The Optic Cruz - s/t

hey heya

hi yeah

nifty

you got a lot of musics on there, what do you say

do you approve of this one?

youtu.be/Dyf2naIPD9g

take care, you know
be careful, the world can be cruel

but remember, there's always people to fuck up

godspeed

gladly taking recs

Listen to:
The State Secedes - s/t
Pele - The Nudes
Good Night & Good Morning - Narrowing Type

Listen to:
Rhetoric Disguise - Gun

Don't know what part of my chart you based that rec on, but I like it. Thanks.

relationships are based on a fine balance of give and take

so, give me a rec first

I've loved BTBAM and Mastodon for years before I knew what Sup Forums was. I was a Grimes fan before coming on here. Guys on a prog Facebook group turned me onto Radiohead years before and I was already a King Crimson fan at that point. I listened to Sunbather when it came out. I was already a Kanye fan and people comparing Yeezus to Death Grips turned me onto them which, in turn, lead me to Sup Forums. Literally the only album in my Top 10 that I took from this site was Strawberry Jam.
Car Bomb, Frontierer, Dun, Premonitions of War, Ahab, Schlippenbach Trio, The Dillards, Shiina Ringo, Sir Richard Bishop, Cloud Rat, Voices, Admiral Angry, Austere, Snot, Lightning Bug, Buried Inside, Grotesque Through Incoherence, Vampire Rodents, Infidel?/Castro!, Spectral Lore, the list goes on.

>Schlippenbach Trio

lol...

>Spectral Lore

Pffft...

>H-hey, I know ONE of those. That's not obscure at all.
You guys are pathetic.

>GrimesCuck

oh wow...

No I'm saying that because Schlippenbach is really bad. Why do you think I care about how obscure they are?

How the fuck is Schlippenbach bad? I'm intrigued.

He constantly tries to make up for being a bad improviser by mixing post-bop flair to his solos which really just do not work in the context of his trio work at least, I think he lags behind Evan and Paul in terms of exploration and creativity in the trio.

Although I will admit I haven't heard much solo work of his.

>It's another GrimesCuck derails the thread with his shitty taste anx opinions episode..

If you're referring to Pakistani Pomade, I think it's obvious that Evan Parker steals the show throughout the majority of the record and Paul Lovens is no slack either, but I disagree with your thoughts on Schlippenbach. I think he adds flavour to the mix and I've yet to hear a more bonechilling example of free jazz.
Suck a pen15.

Havukruunu - Havulinnaan
Tigra Hamasyan - Mockroot
Simon Finn - Pass the Distance

>Tigra Hamasyan - Mockroot
Don't listen to him, user. That album is terrible.

oh boy, looks like I'm in a pickle

what should I listen to?

The other two he suggested are alright

I'd suggest you try Acting Trio is you want "bonechilling free jazz"
clyp.it/qrrvz42d

But I do agree with you on the Parker part, but I guess I'll save my convincing for later

Okay, cool. I'll check it.

hmm, alright

thanks
