I want to learn Son guitar, how should I go about doing this?
Luis Taylor
There's no reason to play guitar
Jaxson Wright
>Superstrat Is Best Strat Edition
That's wrong, this is actually the Designated Shitposting Edition
Adam Phillips
Only if its scalloped like Blackmore's guitar
Camden Phillips
They don't do anything that other brands can't do better and cheaper
Luke Ward
Sadly he passed away last year so yeah they had to replace him.
Sorry user. At least he didn't live to see Roundabout become a fucking meme.
Jace Phillips
by Son I mean the music genre played in Cuba, however anything similar is fine too
please excuse my English
Julian Stewart
>he doesn't want to upgrade from being a squire to being a knight Where is your honor?
Tyler Rogers
Are you cuban? Do you know this music well?
Chase Ramirez
I'd say "name this "crazyaga gigging in his home"" but everyone knows tripfags can't play
Landon Ortiz
Guitars brings you joy.
Comparing guitars with other musical instruments, they are both polyphonic and incredibly expressive. i mean, if you look at piano, it's polyphonic but not as expressive as a guitar. if you look at a violin, it's very expressive but sucks at polyphony. a guitar in the other hand, excels at both categories
Thomas Allen
That's a trash can, not a litter box
Oliver Harris
I played to someone from /gg/ at the discord group yesterday. he called himself "Pete".
His response to me playing was "Well done, you are good"
Jeremiah Williams
No
Landon Martin
Same as with any style
1. Listen to people play the style you like 2. Find transcriptions 3. Learn the songs 4. Get comfortable with the techniques 5. Mimic the style 6. If you get good enough, the mimicry becomes originality
Kevin Gray
pete is a weird name for a jew
Ian Peterson
You are being incredibly silly right now user.
Isaiah Long
Pete says that to everybody. Good ol' Pete
Colton Ramirez
Petes a really nice guy, he'll say whatever he needs to when he wants to motivate players to get good.
Jaxon Jenkins
>Japo strat like sting thing
Make America Great Again
Jayden Walker
thoughts?
Zachary Phillips
I'm curious, it seems interesting, but the price is offputting for something so niche. Local shop is fucking stupid so I'll probably never be able to try it out in person.
Isaac Davis
I found a deal for $79.99 (CAD) which is why im curious. Normally goes for $200+
im guessing its worth it regardless as I can resell it for higher later, but just wanted to know if anyone has had experience with it
Nolan Turner
it seems pretty gay
I don't get the appeal of it when you can just get a DD-7 and get more shit than you'll ever need in one pedal
Nathaniel Lopez
at this price I'd jump on it personally.
It's not exactly a delay so much imo, and from what I gather it seems more focused on modulation and "ambiance" rather than being just a pure delay like the DD7. Plus the prices of each are rather similar, at least where I live.
Matthew Lopez
I've read through some of the Hal Leonard bass one.
Jacob Peterson
Got this 1984 Tokai Breezysound (TTE50?) about a month ago and I'm curious about the neck.
There is an M stamped on it and I have no clue what it means. I've seen the 35, 85, D stamps before but not M.
The neck is one piece flamed maple as well which is strange as far as I can tell. Haven't seen another vintage tokai tele with a flamed neck.
Anyone know anything about this thing? I've spent hours researching...
I play guitar for 9 years. I am actually a good and experienced player
Brandon Lee
Here's a pic of the stamp.
Juan Rodriguez
stands for Moron
so go buy it!!! its perfect for you!!!
Gavin Richardson
I'm sure you keep your guitars in a case under your bed and never play them.
Go away I'm just asking a question to stir discussion.
Ryder Wood
How do you know it's not a W?
William Jenkins
I keep my guitar in a case under your mom's bed ya fruit.
Justin Reyes
>I am actually a good and experienced player You just made a monster Pete
Aiden Martinez
for Wumbo?
Jason Cox
I bought Goodrick's book in my second year of playing out of overtouted ego about 8 years ago and only recently decided to sit down with it properly.
It's alright.
Mason Morris
I have the other one that is based on the same tracking tech and released at the same time, the MO-2 Multi-Overtone. That one is sort of halfway between a synth pedal and an octaver, similar sound to the EHX POG.
Tracking is good. I like the sound of the synth tones it makes. No complaints. So i guess check the tera echo thing out. $80 Can. is a good price.
Benjamin Allen
I've been playing guitar for 10 years but stopped around 2 years ago for stupid reasons. What is the fastest way to get to my former level again?
Jonathan Nelson
Post some pretty looking guitars
Blake Moore
Warm-up exercises. Your standard chromatics all up and down the neck, scales. Your muscle memory for chords comes back very quickly but the speed and accuracy takes a little while.
Been using this crappy Yamaha acoustic for years, am more than ready for an upgrade.
Eli Ross
Can I get some band recs? Modern groove chugga metal stuff like mastadon and lamb of god and the modern bands theyve inspired?
Adam Martin
thanks if you want
Carter Williams
i dont know but i want one now
Dylan Johnson
Nice choice with the tonewood
Josiah Robinson
Hopefully this is the right place for this.
I'm a beginner and I've finished all the way through the intermediate lessons on Justinguitar. I'm not entirely sure where to go next/ what to learn. I've basically been focusing on transcribing and learning songs but I know there's definitely more out there. Could anyone possibly point me in the right direction? Thanks
Dominic Moore
How long is your hair?
Jace Carter
Baroness is pretty great, prog metal but really tasteful and sweet
Elijah Adams
>guild m-20 oh shit that the bryter layter guitar aint it?
join a band/play with people better with you. read more books.
Jeremiah Parker
Thanks, any recommended books? And I will try to play with my friends more often :)
David Roberts
Glenn Jones - This is the wind that blows it out
Lincoln Young
I play at my best when i'm playing alone.
The truth is, that if you are going to play with others, it's very likely you will end up playing more generic things because both of you need to have a common ground.
You have more freedom to be adventurous when you are alone. try to compose from your imagination
Carson Hughes
Noted. I find that I play worse around others because I get too nervous but I usually learn a decent amount because all my friends are better than me.
Brody Martinez
reach out and find people trying to better themselves as musicians, if your friends don't fit that description i'd recommend craigslist and your local music store. to try and find "the community" have you taken a look at the advancing guitarist link in the sticky? its humbling as fuck.
any jazz guitar theory based book will teach you things you didn't think you needed to know as well. jazz guitar theory applies across most if not all genres as well so i'd look into that
Julian Gomez
Playing with people better than you is the best thing you can do if you have that option available
Juan Torres
Somehow I missed that first time looking at the sticky, thank you very much, I will check that out.
Brody Powell
regarding your post about fuzz and ss distortion: its not that they dislike the tone, the dislike the fact that there is no way to switch it off. frig off aga
Anthony Long
what is the purpose of the part that sticks up in the middle of the bridge?
Brandon Sanchez
>songs on guitar are just variations of scales
woah
Evan Martinez
>want to buy a strat >fender is overpriced garbage >everything on reverb is overpriced garbage
Brandon Cooper
It's a thumb support for lefty players :^)
Luke Myers
Listening to this song again, gave me a better realization of how genuinely talented i am as a musician. the beauty of my own art is not less than the beauty of this song, in my honest opinion
I also never met another person in real life that could compose music as beautiful as the music i am composing by myself. I really, really need to record my music professionally
Henry Davis
>I want to buy an f150 >ford is overpriced garbage >everything on the used lot is overpriced garbage I think you're a cheap ass with bad taste
Robert Edwards
are you Wata
Cameron Diaz
90's mexican strats are 400-600 despite being pure ass, just because they are "vintage". Squires are pure ass, low end usa strats are pure ass. What am I supposed to do?
Joseph Hughes
If you're so good how about you post something to see if it holds up
Aiden Cruz
I can record something on my cheap microphone for you, and let you hear it.
It's not a terrible microphone, just cheap.
Angel Turner
Good question. My only guess would be a support for a string dampener
