Y'know what, that actually brings up a good notation on why we avatar in the first place. Everyone I've seen so far that has a single main OC to use has been shown to be really representative of their true personalities. Stunningly, it's like they don't 100% feel in tune with their real bodies, until they bother to draw their own selves.
In fact, this could probably be traced throughout world history, where we show what we want of ourselves.
