Question of the day to liven up this thread:

Who made you learn your first instument?
A band you liked/an album/your mother who told you to get a hobby you fat lazy shit/etc?

hodegetria-our-lady-of-the-way.bandcamp.com/releases

>ambient
>noise
>industrial
>Christian-themed

in my elementary school you had to play an instrument. I saw a very proficient Asian student play the flute at a recital and I was really moved by it so I excitedly picked it up. I was *godawful* at it.
Then I picked up guitar because I wanted to play meal
Then my mom bought me a keyboard for Christmas and here I am
I like your aesthetic and there are some really neat chime/bell sounds but maybe I'm just not into instrumental hip-hop...
great cover art
even for ambient/drone there really is not a lot going on here... I think you could liven things up, more changes, more sounds, more layers, more textures... something to make this more engaging
also this is not dark ambient

Your stuff is great, really good production. Very jeff rosenstock-y in a great way. And my guitar playing was kind of shaped by listening to Weezer growing up too

QOTD :

my first instrument was tuba in the school band because it was the "easiest" to play i.e. the mouthpiece let me blow air into it the easist. i joined the school band because i was really young and had a fascination with old "big band" artists like frank sinatra etc.

this me

I'm pretty sure I reviewed this before, but I didn't listen to it all the way through then. This is definitely strange enough to pull off the amateurish sound.

From what I've heard so far, this is REALLY patience testing. The piano track was nice, is that you playing it live? Don't get why track 6 is just track 5 backwards though.

will leave more feedback when thread needs bumping

this is alright, though it doesn't take itself too seriously. it's fun in some ways though.
i don't know how to feel about this
It's pretty beautiful in some parts, interesting that it's christian-themed as well. seems very dark at the same time though
pretty fuckin good, the first track is alright but the rest is great. was actually looking for some idm to listen to today, good that i decided to listen to this.
i like the darkness of it that appears from time to time, the hip hop instrumentals seem somewhat out of place though

Its like a tween girl discovered vocaloids and a drum machine and started streaming right into my ears.

neat

Yeah, that was my first thought. I wanted minimal, but not boring. This was my first attempt and I definitely agree that I need more in the way of texture and colour and stuff. I have been working on that. Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, I know, as I said in the previous comment, a lot of what I was aiming for just turned out kind of boring, and I hate myself for it. And yes, the piano track is live. I'm glad you liked it. I'm definitely building on what you and the other guy said to produce a more fully-fleshed, realised LP. More instruments, more changes, more expression. Thank you heaps for the feedback though, I didn't think I'd get any.
