.....yes? the maple leaf has always been a symbol of Canada. The old flag had multiple leaves. It's as Canadian as can be, and always has been.
We even have an old (unofficial) anthem about it. The only reason it isn't the anthem is because it's hilariously British focused which pissed off French Canadians.
