Your favourite piece of art

Your favourite piece of art.

Show me that at least some faggots here care about more than traps and drawings of little girls.

Nothing is better than that, you little piece of faggot.

Sorry bro, it's a painting of a little girl.

Klimt is for normies

...

...

...

lol probably a reference to the quaaba muslims worship (check dat black cornerstone)

This is the art equivalent of a fluffy-abuse pic.

Since we're on topic, can someone please explain to me the meaning of this?

Picasso when he isn't cubes and clowns.

why are all the naked ones boys
faggot

...

Also this one is pretty badass.

I've always found the Calling of Saint Matthew by Caravaggio to be a splendid piece. So full of life, emotion, and extreme contrasts.

There is none. It's minimalistic abstract shit. Aesthetic relativism is such cancer.

:^)

...

they're meant to be girls but the guy who drew them was so backwards he didn't realise girls didn't have penises

there you go

I literally failed art class for not being able to explain the meaning of that crap. Like it literally took no effort to be done. I could just grab a piece of paper and say voilà

It's an album cover, but I like it.

the goals of creative work and meanings of art shifted going into the modern period, Malevich announces this break and participates in it.

Unreal City, 60
Under the brown fog of a winter dawn,
A crowd flowed over London Bridge, so many,
I had not thought death had undone so many.
Sighs, short and infrequent, were exhaled,
And each man fixed his eyes before his feet. 65
Flowed up the hill and down King William Street,
To where Saint Mary Woolnoth kept the hours
With a dead sound on the final stroke of nine.
There I saw one I knew, and stopped him, crying “Stetson!
You who were with me in the ships at Mylae! 70
That corpse you planted last year in your garden,
Has it begun to sprout? Will it bloom this year?
Or has the sudden frost disturbed its bed?
Oh keep the Dog far hence, that’s friend to men,
Or with his nails he’ll dig it up again! 75
You! hypocrite lecteur!—mon semblable,—mon frère!”

I cried that day

Dude, liberal arts classes are all about pretending to appeal to whatever that particular professor gets a hardon over. Feminism? You're a feminist for that class. Marxism? Ok, Comrade. Nazi? Sieg Heil, motherfucker.

It's a shit eating contest. If you couldn't google some bullshit to appease her then, that's your problem. College isn't about learning unless you're in a core STEM field. It's about learning how to kiss ass and conform.

even if a retard could do it doesnt mean that the retard thought of doing it

He painted Salford's smokey tops
On cardboard boxes from the shops
And parts of Ancoats where I used to play
I'm sure he once walked down our street
Cause he painted kids who had nowt on their feet
The clothes we wore had all seen better days.

Now they said his works of art were dull
No room, all round the walls are full
But Lowry didn't care much anyway
They said he just paints cats and dogs
And matchstalk men in boots and clogs
And Lowry said that's just the way they'll stay

And he painted matchstalk men and matchstalk cats and dogs
He painted kids on the corner of the street with the sparking clogs
Now he takes his brush and he waits outside them factory gates
To paint his matchstalk men and matchstalk cats and dogs

This is sometimes the case but I found it to be the exception, not the rule.

There are a few professors who see their educator roles as bound up in a broader political activist role, but they're usually also very aware of the unfairness of grading students in proportion to how much they agree. If you're doing all your work and reading, not being provocative or arrogant, and arguing your points while sticking to the readings, you can definitely get by with a dissenting opinion.

I saw a cool documentary about that guy.

He was really fucking autistic.

I think they said he wrote what's probably the biggest novel ever? Though it's probably impossible to actually read for more than 5 minutes.

Pretty cool still.

Andrew Bacon

By the way, if anyone has some more surrealistic horror paintings, they would be much appreciated.

I guess you already know about Beksiński Zdzisław ?

I don't have any paintings on my HD though.

...

I fucking love this painting.

...

Absolutely no clue who that is.

Have a porcelain sculpture of it, it's made by Goebel, love it. Aso:

Kek, nice

...

Guy bellow me actually posted some.

Are you honestly defending this tripe? You can't be serious m8. The "artist" even had the gall to call it "white-on-white".

Guy in the middle looks like Viktor Orban

I do love my Gustav Klimt, Picasso, Monets and Rembrandts.
But I like the Modern Artists I feel it reflects our generation

...

lol, tree of life is over my bed and two of his other paintings are in my living room.

they have some of that guy's work at the museum in my city, shit is pretty shocking.

check out edward keinholz

It's a totally different format/style but the mood created is similar to me

...

...

I like this one

This is one of my favorites by beksinski.

francis bacon you mean

Upon a google search, he's definitely my speed. Thanks for the name.
That's Picasso, right? Old Guitarist is a lovely piece.

kek, thanks for the correction. mb.

it's suprematism and there is meaning to it

it's painted though, not blank

Pretty much anything from El Bosco.
Even more so once you read up on the symbology of the elements he uses.

The Solar Sinter
markuskayser.com/work/solarsinter/

that is one of my favorites.
i also like some of Kadinsky, much of van gogh and some edward munch

who is this? it looks like bakst

It all started with the fucking impressionists, Renoir is one of my favorites... But he and his buddies sure cucked things up in the long run.

First actual piece of art I saw, not sure why I like it not really a fan of modern art.

...

One I bought.

...

Can you please explain this picture to me? I haven't understood it, but saw it for the first time like in grade 8 or 9

Always thought this was badass

Very well, explain. It sounds like a pretentious term for an absolutely vapid creation with nothing of substance to back it up, only arrogance and elitist delusion.

his fucking eyes, gg bro

kind of surprised actually. a few pleb picks here and there but otherwise a good mix

my nigga, this dude was fucking prophetically creative

check out William Blake (poetry or engravings are both insane, especially The Marriage of Heaven and Hell)

Those two and El Greco strike me as being basically centuries ahead of their time, creatively.
