Second for listen to my project

Whoops, new thread. Okay.

Here's the chart I attempted to post in the last thread; stuff I've been enjoying lately. Fishing shamelessly for recs.

Bruce Haack - The Electric Lucifer
Doris Norton - Personal Computer
Dadawah - s/t

(dadawah s/t aka Peace and Love)

The Upsetters - Return of the Super Ape

Klaus Schulze - Moondawn

jangle you sick fuck

don't play me like this

I should listen to Songs About My Cats
if you like plantasia you might like Tim Story's Glass Green, it's some beautiful ambient synth music from the late 80s.
Here's a sample, also your options to listen to it are on youtube or soulseek it.

The /daily/ website has calendar charts under the /daily/ related files, they're a year out of date but you can edit them to fit the current month of the current year. Or you could just google a calendar and stick the album covers on the blank spaces if you want something quicker.

watch something good

anything i think i should recommend i think you've already heard (Amorphous Androgynous, Camberwell Now, The Books, Günter Schickert, that one Congos album featuring Sun Araw)
hmm pic related because of VSnares; Tipographica/Unbeltipo maybe, MC Maguire

also wrong thread but its not like we've got anything better to do

I got two (2) bitter natkingcole™ (you)'s out of it though. ;8)

ehh

No actually, I haven't heard any of those. I think I'm a lot more naive than you think; note that MPP is on my chart. (Also, are you saying you guys don't generally do the whole "rec" thing here? Is it more of a "review" thing around these parts?)

Yeah, Songs About My Cats is the bomb. Highly recommended.

Thanks, everyone!

Luciano Cilio - Dialoghi Del Presente
Nana Vasconcelos - Saudades
Sun Ra - Cosmic Tones for Mental Therapy

Most of us get a semi when people ask for recs; you're in the right place.
Trans is just being a frustrated little boi.

>note that MPP is on my chart
that already makes you more patrician than sdc
>are you saying you guys don't generally do the whole "rec" thing here?
yes but it's more like forcing your own favorites down other people's throats and sharing the love or getting mad at one another depending on their feedback. all under the guise of venturing out of your comfort zone
fine distinction between that and just recommending stuff vaguely similar to what you already like

At this point I've already gone through the discographies of Mayhem, Darkthrone, Burzum, Immortal, Emperor, Venom, Bathory, and Xasthur.

I would like to get some lesser known black metal recommendations from those of you who enjoy it, if it were possible.

Thanks in advance.

Don't listen to transgod, he's always a downer especially to newfolks

tfw your friends are plebs who cant into dark chocolate

Negative Plane, Funereal Presence, Tukaaria, Nagelfar, Nox Intempesta and S.V.E.S.T. have compact discographies & are pretty good

tru tho

Milk chocolate sucks 90% of the time, but white > dark

Wow, racist.

>No votes for Debord

You've failed me, Cunt

Vampyr it is I guess

this is just as pleb

more music like wil wagner - laika pls

>white "chocolate"

have you listened to his demo tape I Hope I Don't Come Across Intense? Dinosaur Bones and Feel All The Feelings are some pretty great tracks on there

dark chocolate is not milk chocolate you newb (also why aren't there more /fit/izsens on /ck/ like there's so much false info there fr ; and also how many calories you guyise think you get from a shower? does anyone into thermodynamics here)
no i have not but i will. man i know he's here somewhere he just stinks of Sup Forums

Got this album on a christmas chart last thread.

Intro and outro are bad. liked Silent Nutcracker and A Mad Russian's Christmas because the song has a castlevania vibe. First snow is good too. Faith Noel would be better if they choose to put this song after a more acoustic song. In the album's sequence you get a very metaly song then Faith Noel follows up and end up being too much metal.

So I found out today that the big pile of free-improv and weird stuff at my record store was dropped off by Canadian artist Clive Robertson.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clive_Robertson_(artist)
Pretty cool. I took a video flipping through most of the collection when he first got it in that I might post if there's some interest.
Here's the record I grabbed today.

shit taste

>he just stinks of Sup Forums
what makes you say that...

well duh
white > dark > milk

milk > dark > white

sometimes dark > milk tho, depending on the %. Like 70% is p great.

either way white sucks dick

Does anything on there come close to Sarajevo?

v/a - Soul Christmas
>Christmas Music, Soul

Hit-or-miss. The soul style doesn't really translate very well into the more mellow Christmas music, so the album's gimmick does not feel as natural as it could - still, this does stop the likes of Otis Redding from making great songs regardless.

Oh, and the songs that are just normal soul songs with Santa innuendos need to die.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra is more of a live spectacle than anything, so I've heard.

Hello,
what's first?

arrayed

Even Oxen

I haven't seen Bear in a few weeks but you are assured at least one (You) regardless of your opinion on it

>someone in this general who's heard less music than i have
never thought i'd see the day

All of it at the same time, but turn Tim Buckley up the loudest.

This is true, and a Bear (you) is worth about 6 Hampus (you)'s, or 183 Fish (you)'s.

approx 3326 sdc (you)'s

>Gabriel Le Mar - Stripped
Lots of dubby beatless techno; this album is extremely lush. I haven't listened to much off Carpe Sonum but now i'm eager to try more. 11 tracks of very similar style but each one is different.
9/10 (would give it 10 but i hesitate to do so... maybe i would if it was a mixed album?)

found The Bay by chance, turns out the album is great

Could you make an infographic of the /daily/ (You) economy?

>implying a sdc (you) is worth anything

Save Swordfishtrombones for last because it's the best

GET IIIINNNN!!!!

plug.dj/sdc-room-3-the-sequel

I was raised strictly on milk chocolate because my parents hated dark.

Now I can't eat anything under 80% pure cacao.

Also DDX-10 new Sup Forums champion

I'm more of a word memer, you'll have to ask our chief infographic memer Hampus.

How does one of mine stack up?

p badly they're as easy to get as sondre lerche is shit

Could you not be had in the same way, but substituting Sondre for that Hunter guy from liturgy?

true and i think rod and jangle are p much the same too

Nyar (you)'s are a pretty valuable and steady commodity, I'd estimate it's current worth at about 35 user (you)'s.

>Fish (you) is intrinsically worthless
gee hope you didn't like being told "love you" cause that's not happening any fricking time soon >:^(

Thanks for the (you), I'll put it in the garbage where it belongs ;^)
Jokes aside, a Fish (you) is about 20 user (you)'s unless you use the word 'flip' then they're worth 38 user (you)'s.

Who has the most desirable (You) then?

who here /wouldliketowritemorebuthasnotime/

lame onion
This is a pretty sicc reviewing style. Cool score for the album btw.

IT FEELS SO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD

DELET

a rare oldfag probably

update

die antwoord's mount ninji was 2 good rave songs (one of which they didn't write) and hot garbage punctuated by a baffling and ill-conceived Jack Black feature.
it makes me mad. I could write a lot about how die antwoord is just getting worse and worse, but they've said many times that when they get 5 albums, DA will be over and they will move on.
i'm just waiting for that now. i'm sure Watkin has another Ziggurat or Songs From the Mall in his head somewhere.

I liked Delaware a lot initially, but it got dull quick. and then it carried on.
Barlow does this better.

Undercurrents was stupid good, fuck!
playful like quaraldi, but just as serious at heart. the dialogue between their piano and guitar is compelling, soothing, and gratifying.
I really do adore this, and after only one listen. not sure what else I could want from a jazz record.
Who the hell was it that recommended me this? It was a good while ago- I recommended Vince Guaraldi to someone and they recd me this in response.

what more could a man with a girl's taste in music want

>be fish
>turn on computer
>spill hamburger while waiting for tubes to warm up
>ketchup all over the duvet
>"flippin heck"
>dial up connection establishes after 28 pizza deliveries and 7 zappa posthumous releases
>visit the buddies on four chan
>get btfo by their superior hot onions and belittling remarks
>can't be mad because they have great taste
how do you do it, fish? you're so strong, you have such perseverance to come back every day to get blown the flip out

>tfw realized I didn't rate The English Riviera on RYM yet

not a 9/10 imo but still probably a favorite

Of current posters, either Bear, Dog or Aqam.

didnt you read my post?
you can't be mad because our taste is so good
stop pretending to be mad

>do Memeye next pls
this took me a while to understand.
maybe I will

...

Congrats, your (you)'s are now worth effectively zero.

Haha wtf how stupid can you get

btw i don't see much music discussion here?

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard put together a festival for Australia and I'm going to see the shittiest incarnation of it because I live in Perth but that's ok It's still an 8 hour gig

Will post a meme if any are taken (they will be)

>btw i don't see much music discussion here?
HE'S ON TO US BOYS, EVACUATE THREAD!

seriously though, have you heard Voices of North American Owls? great record.

what sort of memery is this

it's /daily/'s favorite album. in fact, i'm due for a relisten. I remember barn owl and great horned owl were my favorite parts.

Sleepy John Estes - I Ain't Gonna Be Worried No More 1929-1941 (1992)
>country blues, delta blues

Good, rock-solid blues. He's got the same warm, welcoming quality Mississippi John Hurt or Elizabeth Cotten has but his music is a bit more jaunty and danceable. I never really like piano in blues (like, blues blues, not Tom Waits' Closing Time "blues") so the piano-driven tracks here don't really appeal to me, but Estes is a talented guitar player and a great, emotive singer so I've got very few complaints about the guitar-based tracks. This comp doesn't reinvent the blues, but this is a damn solid addition to any blues fan's collection.

3.0+

anxious to hear your thoughts on MBDTF, i don't think i've ever heard a "new" opinion on that album. i'm a big fan of it but i don't ever really shout that from the hills.

I've never really got into rock of any sort, can someone rec me some good classic rock or something similar

put the s/t Penguin Cafe Orchestra on the next one, it's more focused and based on your review I think you'll prefer it to Music From
and yeah thisll be my first kanye record, I only know like 3 of his songs

zappa- freak out!

Ween - God Ween Satan: The Oneness (1990)
>experimental rock, lo-fi indie, alternative rock

Not gonna lie, it's really impressive that Dean and Gene were only 20 when this came out. It's juvenile and stupid as hell, but like any Ween album there's a genuinely large amount of songwriting and instrumental talent here. That being said, the humor here does irritate me somewhat. Not to the same extent the humor on Chocolate & Cheese does, mainly because this album doesn't have that consummate professional sheen C&C does, but the excessive vulgarity is overdone, and "L.M.L.Y.P" is downright uncomfortable. When they focus more on making actual, genuine music, they put out some of their best stuff. "Birthday Boy" could work its way into becoming one of my favorite Ween songs, and "Nicole" is a lovely, fucked-up 9-minute excursion into reggae that occasionally manages to sound like chopped & screwed, somehow. It's obviously a massive mixed bag, but the songwriting here is tight as hell and it's never anything less than enjoyable.

i'm glad you think lmlyp is bad though, I couldnt stand that record and that song was a main offender

hmm, looks cool

WARNING: HOT TAKES APLENTY

Rush - 2112 (1976)
>progressive rock, hard rock

Fucking garbage. I've always had a thing for Rush, their biggest songs were played for me a lot when I was little, I saw them live when I was in middle school, and I still can really appreciate their poppy, streamlined take on prog. The title track here was the one big Rush song I've never heard up until this day, and it's just /really/ bad. It's an emotionless, calculated attempt at prog rock with jarring, awfully done transitions and absolutely terrible politics. The instrumental performances are all good, sure, and I've always liked Lee's vocals, but the actual music is just so uninteresting and overdone, it's tiring to listen to. The b-side isn't special. Well, they use the stereotypical "oriential" melody on "A Passage to Bangkok" which is one of the most bafflingly awful things I've heard in a while, but other than that it's totally forgettable. In being forgettable and focusing less on praising Ayn Fucking Rand with every single lyric, every single track on the b-side is markedly better than the entire a-side, but it's still the most emotionless, tedious, flat-out irritating prog I've ever heard. For how much I can normally appreciate Rush, I'm confident in saying this is one of the worst albums I've heard in quite some time.

0.5

creedence clearwater revival - green river
jimi hendrix experience - electric ladyland

will do!

shhshshshshshs

i think LMLYP would be okay as an instrumental, but the vocals and lyrics are just fucking dreadful, i could safely say that it's the only track i really didn't enjoy.

so yeah, discrepancies lol

Name one /daily/ trip that doesn't have shit taste.

PROTIP: You can't.

term's dick tastes good

thx, will listen

hi boys its 9 am, ive been up for about 36 hours spending the last 6 convincing my friend to not kill myself after he got all depressed somehow after he half beat a guy to death while we were rolling at some mad casino watching match of the day.

i have just one question and that is, how retarded would it be to put a gy!be photo as my cover photo on facebook be?

>maybe pic related, who knosw

Was your friend depressed because he couldn't beat the guy to death proper?
