Which is why you're here

Sadness and anger is a put-on.
We talk indirectly about what we like by talking about what we don't like.

Brit/pol/ is always very flip-floppy. On le other chan they were even worse, it was the NEET brigade with a handful of trannies.
They were like the US "Alt-Right" before that took off. They put all their faith in the centre-right meme party too, for all the good it will do them. I think their newest thing is praising Teresa May, who manages to be even slimier than Cameron, who radiated it.

>mfw I used to post there and be sympathetic

I'm talking about sincere emotion and "proper Irishmen". Bitching about the weather or what yer wan over there was wearing isn't true emotion, and "muh heart bleeds listen to this song there's a tin whistle in the background guys muh heritage okay when's the next ticket back to London" artsy-farty "artist" types aren't true Irish"men".

You can't take me out.
This is my home now

but i thought we were friends

>tfw no slightly dominant older polish fugitive gf

/whylive/

everyone is welcome in /éire/
except for the swissyank

Actually learning to play the tin whistle.
I get what he's saying. Always being in the emotional rollercoster is tough and dulls your senses towards truly meaningful feelings.

I try to be like that and i usually thrive to not vent about things but i feel too much.
I guess you could call me an artsy-farty but i don't like those kind of "aloof" artists if you get me

>everyone is welcome in /éire/
That's where you're wrong.

watching blade runner

People who suppress their emotions to a bare minimum are more Irish than those who do not.

>American audiences clap and whoop and go to tears over fucking Star Wars

got the final cut for christmas, it's really good and comfy.

/éire/ why did you side with the eternal Anglo in the Turbot war? We thought we were friends ;_;7

>non-ironical emoticons

are you a girl or a genuine homosexual?

I wonder what sort of SJW monstrosity the new one will be.

It's debatable whether Americans are more emotive than people from other parts of the world, but they are certainly more expressive about every single emotion that they experience than anybody in Northern Europe would be (Southern Europe is a bit of a mixed bag).

Stop stealing our fucking fish!

>sitting aside as your catholic brethren were oppressed, starved, and scattered for hundreds of years
fuck off pablo

It's all over youtube.

Emoticons are alright.
Emojis are the real enemy.

It has the original director IIRC, and Ryan Gosling. It might surprise.

I think you're an emotionally repressed guy talking some amount of shite to justify himself.

What makes you think some people are "putting on" their emotional reactions? What gives you a monopoly on who is sincere and who is not?

You can have opinion on society, but stop delivering your statements with such profound certainty

>mfw people talk about the conversations they have with their non-Irish-American families
>mfw they ask questions about their romantic/dating lives and stuff
It's fucking true. Non-Irish are much more open and emotionally accessible about everything and it's gross.

won't watch it
>remakes

>Stop stealing our fucking fish!

Spainiards steal your fish too?

Talking about emotions and shit is gay, stop bitching.

People at the Star Wars Celebration are hardly an accurate representation of the average viewing audience. And you must know that. And I question why you would even post that.

>SJW monstrosity
There's literally none, I'm so sick of this "ess jay double yew boogeyman" shit, take it to Sup Forums.

>Emoticons are alright.
>Emojis are the real enemy.
Both are cancer, fuck off.

>I think you're an emotionally repressed guy talking some amount of shite to justify himself.
Nah, in my experience he's largely correct. People feel obliged to exaggerate their emotions in situations in which they feel socially compelled to be emotional. The emotion may indeed be sincere, but it's being exaggerated in a form of emotional virtue signalling.

Of course, this isn't true every time an Irish person expresses an emotion, but it's certainly more common than you would think. I'm convinced that it's caused by American influence.

Yes - thievin' bastards.

gotta agree with the burger here

fun fact: killing basques was not illegal in westfjords in iceland until very recently

NO.

>What makes you think some people are "putting on" their emotional reactions?
Maybe you can't read when people are faking or exaggerating emotion, but I believe I can.

>What gives you a monopoly on who is sincere and who is not?
It doesn't matter what my opinion is on whether another person's feeling an emotion that's real or not, in terms of whether that emotion IS real or not. It would only matter if they WERE going out of their way to show themselves to be "THE only true emotional deep souled inner indigo child in touch with their feminine side in the room".

I specifically distinguished American nerds from foreign nerds.

> sitting aside

Looks like the e. A. propaganda has taken a toll.

American proliferation of over-exaggerated emotional reactions to absolutely anything is an infestation that will plague us for the rest of eternity.

This is a method of acquiring women, since the days of bards. I'm having a think now.

The "emotional virtue signalling" the other user spoke of occurs when we want emotional responses from other people in order to manipulate them.

What you prefer is an emotionally repressed state where our griefs, pleasure, angers and sorrows react purely to extraordinary material circumstances (such as the death of a loved one). Am I right?

You are literally posting on a website based off a Japanese imageboard called 2chan.

you mean George de Valero from New York?

hey can i post here, our general is getting spammed by a german cuckposter

you are literally posting on technology made for the military

no fuck off

o-okay...

There was a time when that was true, but now it has been appropriated by normies as a medium for American over-expression of emotions online.

vocaroo.com/i/s1HElsseNca4

No. Muslims are not allowed

How is that any different from reaction images on Sup Forums to express your emotion?

yes of course my northern brother

feeling a bit uncomfortable at the amount of foreign flags in the thread

Not crying (in public) but i would like to experience love if that isn't too much to ask for of course

This is a board for cultural exchange :3

*emotionally snuggles next to you in an American fashion*

UwU

nope sorry

can the anglos, moors, snowniggers and krauts fuck off

>This is a method of acquiring women, since the days of bards. I'm having a think now.

No, no, no.
I know the difference between "oh no, muh feels, it would be nice if I had a similarly deep and soulful lady nearby to soothe my spontaneous emotional turmoil", and living the lie as a way of life.
There's a difference between playing that (rarely pulled-off) game to get women, and just being like a woman in being an emotion-driven emotion-seeker. If one has no "charm" extraneous to the "trick", then that fake "laying your heart bare" will only stand a chance of working if the girl is retarded/up for a shag anyway and willing to play along or if the guy is actually feeling that way.

>What you prefer is an emotionally repressed state where our griefs, pleasure, angers and sorrows react purely to extraordinary material circumstances (such as the death of a loved one). Am I right?

Well, let's examine what you said there.

You said that people should express those feelings only when they are given cause to. That is what I am saying.
I am also decrying the fact that people seem to think that "emotionally repressed" is where people are called out when they are putting on their emotions, whether it be for others' benefit or their own.

no
but can you

Anime is normie repellent so it could never be accused of aiding them in spreading their cancer.

>There's a difference between playing that (rarely pulled-off) game to get women, and just being like a woman in being an emotion-driven emotion-seeker. ah yes
dead /éire/

The hierarchy of attitudes to emotion is as follows:

Fake < Repressed < Authentic

Of course, "fake" emotions (what I was complaining about - an American phenomenon) is a state where life and the emotions it causes are shallow, but also deliberately sifted through like an animal redigesting its own shit in order to make the "content" stretch. That's what women have a tendency to be, and it's what people become in a "romantic" culture, especially one like nowadays where deep-cutting hardships are rare or easily glossed over.
"Repressed" as generally understood is generally a relic of different social conditions, such as you'd get in anti-Irish, anti-rural "works" like they threw up all through the leaving cert in "Sive" and "An Triail", which were a deliberate West Brit exaggeration and (((subversion))) of legitimate problems from that type of "everyone knows everyone" environment.
In modern times, it's generally I would say more often a transition state or a "Limbo" for people who don't feel and don't WANT to feel "fake" emotion, but who don't have enough self-understanding or experience or courage or what have you to feel their emotions authentically, but no further.
The "authentic" state is only ever going to be had by a minority of people, and for them, "authenticity" is of course by no means a "perfect" state. The notion that "authenticity = good" is part of the American problem with sentimentality that I was talking about.
Authenticity is more like recognising the flaws of both "fake" emotion and "repressed" emotion. You aren't sacrificing the truth of what you feel for the sake of fear, or for a "high" you get from feeling emotion (eg: "outrage porn" like Sup Forums would have). You have to struggle using your experience, learning, and judgement, to learn the best balance of expression versus restraint, both within your head and your actions.
Might sound a bit vague, but it's wot I think.

why would you say no unless you were an anglo, kraut, snownigger or moor? very suspicious

do you literally only post high effort comments?

I see your point, thanks for the Ryuukos

Final wall of text /smartpost/:

There's an intro to an edition of Brave New World where Huxley talks all about American attitudes along some of the lines I have, more or less. I'd recommend reading those if you can, though the book by itself is great if you haven't already read it or digested it properly yet.

What do you mean by that greentext quote + reaction image?

Do you have trouble parsing that, or did it cut close to home?

because /éire/ is half dead most days and more posts (except for you) is a good thing

Mostly.

"High effort" is relative anyway.
I just write these things as they come into my head, and I'm a fast typer.

Trinity?

/éire/ hasn't been dead in a long long time
i remember when i'd make an /éire/ when i got up, i'd bump it a couple times during the day and then it would die. and this would happen quite regularly
please go back to /brit/
MR. TRUMP I'M TIRED OF WINNING

I can't do that. When i'm trying to write a high effort post I usually end up rereading and deleting things or rephrasing it 3 or 4 times before I like it
don't know why I bother considering most people on Sup Forums just give a meme answer or huge strawman once they start losing an argument

Yes?

half dead as in slow
and anyway more people would post here if you weren't always pissing everyone off

>wanting the thread to be alive with foreigners rather than slow with only irish posters
Sounding awfully like a progressive there lad

you should try doing it on a phone. you can only read a small portion of what you read at a time, it takes ages to type shit and you get waay off track and forget what the fuck you were on about
you have Sup Forums tier standards for speed then.

I've been here for a lurker on /éire/ for literally two days and even I can tell that something absolutely needs to be done about that anime-posting "muh emotional lack of emotions" faggot.

he's clearly from (((a certain general which is faster than all the others on Sup Forums))) which is why 1) he loves foreigners and 2) he thinks /éire/ is ever slow these days
