Hey Ryan
Maldives
I have a geology degree.
I always thought our planet held as much if not more beauty than space.
Spacefags go home.
Auckland Island
i think theres more mystery to space.
and the fact that most of it is unreachable is what makes it so enticing.
sure earth has its mysteries too, but those mysteries are solvable or will be discovered sooner or later.
...
Exactly, almost all of space is unreachable. It consists of planets and stars we will never see, at least not in any detail at all.
Meanwhile, this planet we live on holds enough unique sights for hundreds of lifetimes.

i don't know why but this thread just made my day. Today op is not a fag
if you're a geologist, you must know of the law of uniformitarianism. We already know so much about planetary geology, but there is always the same level of uncertainty will drive scientists to search for more.
Where did you get your degree from btw
...
...
so op, whyd you get a geo degree? besides your love for the earth i mean.
what are your goals?

Something about this photo is just really awesome, even among the competition from this thread.
Anyway, I had a knack and an interest in the earth sciences in high school. I was just good at the class and willing to spend time on it. I'm going to get some kind of environmental job, like "water quality project manager" or what have you. Because of familial responsibilities, I can't travel too far for work. I might try to get in to Texas A&M or Florida Tech for ocean sciences (Master's programs)

Man, I think if I went here, I'd get a spooky vibe. The place isn't just uninhabited, it's abandoned. There's literally village ruins, and it's the best guess for where Amelia Earhardt died.
pretty cool dude.
ocean i think is way more mysterious than dry land. should provide a lifetime of discovery. good luck man.
Yeah, not much for miles, I ran right up it in my subaru and nearly nailed a rabbit near the top.
Pine Ridge, Nebraska you can see the Black hills of SD on the horizon.
Dude, can you gimme coords in case I'm ever up that way?
Thanks. It is pretty cool.

Chadron Nebraska.
It's just about 5 miles south of the town, and has a very nice road that winds through a lot of it. Then there's the trails that run around the area the picture was taken in, I've never even been on a lot of them, but it has a very nice lookout area where this picture was taken. A lot of people bash on Nebraska for being filled with corn fields and whatnot but the western half is rather untamed and quite beautiful.
No cops though right? Thanks btw.
