Why are the french so bad at war?

why are the french so bad at war?

because of eternal-anglo :^)

We won that war.

it did take you a hundred years though

it was a civil war involving two french houses over one crown

I doubt you know much about what really it was.

...

Why can't the English win a war by legitimate means?

and lose the war

here's your (You)

Cause it is hard to fight when sprinting away from your enemies.

because all they can do is wine

They are two different wars. The Peninsular War was a war that took the English almost 6 years to win when their only opponents were demoralized, under-supplied and outnumbered French soldiers, every relevant battle they won was through sheer numbers. Not to mention the war was only won because of the failed Invasion of Russia and the start of another Coalition.

The Hundred Days was won primarily through the efforts of Prussia, not to mention that most experienced Frenchmen were killed in Russia and they were outnumbered anyway.

Was it that battle there almost all french knights been killed by coward English archers with longbows? I think it was not very nice at that time.

>at that time
in those times

The first two of these """"victories"""" are minor skirmishes that took place during the French army's retreat.
The siege only ended because Wellington left to smash a french army that was supposed to surround him.
And the Battle of Quatre Bras was a British victory.

>took place during the French army's retreat.
The makes it even more of a humiliating defeat for the English also considering that the French army in Spain was a second-rate force

>Quatre Bras was a British victory.
Is that why the British ran away with their tails between their legs?

Le longbow meme

Why didn't the English fight on horseback?

>Is that why the British ran away with their tails between their legs?
It was the French that quit the field.
>The makes it even more of a humiliating defeat for the English
Nope it means that French were good at rear guard actions, presumably brought about their vast experience in retreating. Also the real reason is that Wellington wasn't willing to commit heavily to hounding the retreating French because they outnumbered him.

Too much effort getting horses across the channel in large enough numbers to compete with France. The English used loads of cavalry against us though.

>In this battle, the English employed the same methods used in the victories at Crécy in 1346 and Agincourt in 1415, deploying an army composed predominantly of longbowmen behind a barrier of sharpened stakes driven into the ground to obstruct any attack by cavalry.

EXCELLENT post

Fuck off kiwi, you don't even have a black watch.

Americans haven't fought a single war in which their opponent was on equal or superior footing. France has many times - and won.
