Depends on how you interpret them.
I can find meaning in most of his lyrics, he may not have intended them to mean these things but I still found profound and personal meaning in them.

This is true. However, even if you listen to the Devonshire mixes, which are more 'raw' and closer to what Kurt wanted, it is still very catchy. I think Nirvana went into the album with the intention to make it more mainstream leaning, they just didn't expect how massive it would get.
