Pitchfork has given all, but 2 Mountain Goat album shit reviews.
This has a 2.87 on RYM, how is this surprising?
Anyone who's listened to that album would probably come up with a similar score
incorrect, it was ahead of its time, pre justice.. brought back harder bedroom style production back to the mainstream (using bass synth wah pedals, heavy distortion etc...)
it was lazy, phoned in and repetitive. even the title track is basically the same thing looped over and over.
DP even admitted the bulk of it got made over the course of a few weeks
the kitty album is better desu senpai
that album really is shitty though
it's like an extremely lazy version of their previous two
you can literally hear the LACK of effort that went into it when you're listening by comparison
>tfw I'm 100% aware that a lot of HAA is phoned in and droning
>tfw I love it anyway
WE ARE HUMAN
It's almost as if reviews are ultimately meaningless.
Absolutely unappreciated
The only album of his that made BNA was Within and Without which most patricians hated. Fuck Pitchfork.
What, WaW is great. Why is it considered bad?
Do you people consider below 8 panned? What the fuck?
Well, a 7 implies that it's a good album but not great.
6 means good, 7 means great, 8 means amazing, 9 means masterpiece, 10 means all-time classic
What does Pitchfork have against them? The Champ was pretty good.
>6 means good, 7 means great, 8 means amazing, 9 means masterpiece, 10 means all-time classic
where the fuck are you getting these numbers
6 means not worth your time, 7 means average, 8 means good, 9 means amazing, and 10 is all time classic
you have a horribly inflated rating system
if 5 is average, 6 should be good. if 5 isn't average, then you are not rating on an out of 10 scale.
This, desu. Never really understood people that use the system like that.
>7 means average
>having only 3 numbers to distinguish between above average music
>having 6 whole numbers to distinguish between below average music
are you retarded?
NIN - The Fragile
>a fucking 2.0
This is what helped convince me Pitchfork is shit.
Sup
>albums you were surprised to find out you didn't like anymore
>made over the course of a few weeks
this isn't a criticism
masterpiece = all-time classic
move all your descriptors up one and it is accurate
