HACK

his films are too complicated and don't have the simplified qippy story-telling of marvel flicks

Alright...

*takes off specs*

Let me tell you what's wrong with Mr. Zack Snyder. To put it simply, his only problem is that he doesn't care about nerd culture. That's it. That's all. Satisfied? Good. Now run along and join the other sheep. Bye. Bye!

*sits there*

Oh, you're still here? Good, you've passed the test. The truth is yes, Zack IS too careless, but he's merely guilty of disregarding TOO much nerd culture. Alright, picture this- you're walking through the English countryside and see a cinema. In this cinema you see a film, a film very different from the Simon Pegg-esque upper middle class quip oriented flicks you're used to. Through seeing this film you are shown things- wondrous things. Now, up until this moment you're just a normal bloke. You watch Netlix on the weekend, talk to uni friends on facebook, have a joke and a share witty conversations between classes and generally get on with your life. But this moment changes the entire paradigm. It's something you genuinely never thought possible, but guess what? It happened. It happened and it can't unhappen. Deal with it.

So what do you do? That's the million dollar question, right? What do YOU do? Do you keep it to yourself? Sure, that would make things much easier, but why do that? Why keep it to yourself? Why do something simply because you're in fear of stepping out of the small, narrow box that society has put you in? That's the definition of, to use a much used modern phrase, a cuck. Yes, a cuck.

At the end of the day Zack Snyder is, at the very least, not a cuck. That's something he has over most people here. And that, I think, is something that must be said.

Should've just done campy Supes and typical Bats.

Fights were fine, just keep to the universal knowledge of the characters

Snyder directs in sweatpants and under armor wristbands.

If that's not badass I don't know what is. Nerds can't stand that an alpha auteur is in control of their products, and he's elevating them to heights their puny brains can't comprehend. They can't stand that someone who appears on the outside as a manchild with a comic book fetish, is pushing the medium further than they thought possible.

Snyder, Affleck, and Cavill get the bitches and gays all juicy. They are just ripe with raw sexual energy. This offends the virginal fanboi. MoS and BvS deal with emotional issues and belief systems in a mature way. This doubly offends the fanboi, who is stuck in perpetual adolescence. They can't process or register mature emotions. And people hate what they don't understand.

One hit wonder that got lucky at the beginning of the decade with his gay porn fantasy.

im not reading all that shit dccuck

Sup Forums is inhabited largely by 13-year old and beta men. Hence the proliferation of pedo, cu ck and bbc threads. Seeing an alpha male like Zack Snyder causes them to remember how they were bullied by an alpha male and uncomfortable and lash out the only way they know how -impotently typing out hateful words on a Japanese jpeg board. Some, like Ant-Man director Peyton Reed when shown a statement from a capeflick rumor monger saying "DC directors can physically beat up Marvel directors," choose to withdraw into safe spaces instead. It's little wonder why Sup Forums connects with Marvel more

that how i know you're a troll

The movie wasn't good. The plot remained good because of the source material.

MoS and BvS aren't direct adaptations so there's no saving grace.

I stepped out of the theater after watching Batman v Superman; Dawn of Justice™ and literally fell to my knees and thrust my arms into the air.

"SNYDER!!!!" I cried.

I cried so much for the first time in my life.

I went into the movies jaded and cynical after reading all the Sup Forums posts about how much Snyder was a hack, Man of Murder, Stop My Invincible Son, and expected absolute trash from the movie; but I was wrong. So wrong.

I couldn't believe the masterpiece I had just witnessed. I felt like throughout the entire film Snyder himself was speaking to me, through Metropolis and Gotham, his love and dedication were there. He assured me that a new era of cape movies had arrived, a new era to save us from these lackluster regurgitated capeshit movies we are accustomed to.

During the battle with Doomsday, the people around me were so enthralled and were convulsing and speaking in tongues, their spit and tears flying everywere, some landing on me, but I didn't care. I was already in full spasm from the orgasmic capekinography I was seeing.

As the movie ended, everyone in the cinema cried. Like wailing and sorrowful crying. Nobody said a word but everyone in there had the same feeling. "Forgive us Snyder for we do not know what we have done".

In all seriousness this a solid 12/10.

I'm still wiping my tears as I try to relive that moment, I'm afraid I will never experience this exhilarating joy and sadness ever again in my life.

Thank you Snyder... Thank you...

>MoS and BvS aren't direct adaptations

well there's one good fucking reason

What is the point of threads like this?
>prove to me that [x] is [y] without using [common and effective arguments for why x is y]

>doesn't know what a direct adaptation means

Snyderbots are the worst

People don't want to know what they really are.

it's the cool, in thing to do right now

personally, i wish he did more interesting things with his blocking and enabled his actors to play out the scene more

he has talked about kurosawa, and i hope that influences the way he shoots actors and relays information in the next movie

He attempts to translate comic book sensibilities literally to the screen by basically recreating comic frames with special effects and slow motion, disregarding what it is people enjoy about comic books and how to translate that quality so moviegoers will find the enjoyment equivalent to their medium

And here is a picture of an Alpha-male Director taken just before hammering out a set of reverse curls.

It even dealt with the same themes as BvS. Don't know why he felt compelled to go full retard

>Dawn of the Dead
Haven't Seen
>300
Could've been decent, but plagued by too much stupid shit. Still good action and mostly good visuals though
>Watchmen
Good movie, bad adaptation
>Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole
It's a movie about owls.
>Sucker Punch
Shit
>Man of Steel
Decent, enjoyable. Kinda dumb.
>Batman v Superman
Quite dumb, enjoyable, good visuals.

Retarded

You make terrible movies.

>Seeing an alpha male like Zack Snyder causes them to remember how they were bullied by an alpha male and uncomfortable and lash out the only way they know how

so fucking true

>mixed grip

Literally who.

I swear I've seen gay porn with that guy.

I hate you Zack because you are:

pretty much inept at working a script
your movies are all immature
you have no intellectual depth whatsoever
you are surrounded by yesmen, including your producer wife
your vocabulary is peaking at 250 words YOU KNOW

kek

He thinks edge means quality.

I don't.

Has he started the fire?

nailed it
alpha males succeed and pioneer, nu-males complain about petty shit and succumb to Feige's wishes

Because he's incompetent and lazy. All he's interested in is making neat looking shit that looks like other neat looking shit. When it comes to creative direction in post, he phones it in. When it comes to shooting dialogue, he goes out of his way to actually write hard scenes. He didn't feel comfortable shooting scenes where the characters spoke to each other in costume, so the characters barely spoke to each other. He wanted to tease "superman has to appear before some kind of court" in the trailer but didn't feel like following through on the actual character drama and just blew it all up.

He's fine with visuals but as a filmmaker and a storyteller he's gotten progressively sloppier and less coherent, while also becoming more self-important and """""smart""""" with his belligerent subtext. His last two movies he's been punching way above his weight class. He's trying to make Nolanesque scripts but he isn't capable of that level of "bigger picture" storytelling and creative editing.

He had a loosely organized ADHD style where his movies are just THIS HAPPENS NOW THIS HAPPENS. Very few scenes really lead into the next ones in BvS. He never focuses on one thing long enough for it to be compelling. In tdk almost every scene directly informed the next one. A series of WHICH LEADS TOs. Scenes had immediate, obvious consequences and a kinetic narrative and logical flow.

A well-made movie shouldn't force the audience to puzzle out why they are looking at what is happening, every fucking scene. "Ok so we're back with lex now, oh I guess this must be immediately after his meeting with Finch, they're in the same location as 10 mins ago, he's wearing the same clothes. Ok so he's talking to some guy. Who is this guy? Was he introduced ever? Oh he was in the background of the previous scene. Why is he so helpful? Oh wow so he just gave Lex access to everything he wanted. Why was Lex even talking to Finch? Wtf who was that?"

Sup Forums has shit taste since the reddit normie invasion i mean just take a look at the daily marvel quipshit threads this board is dead

I don't hate you. In fact, I think you're this generations' Malick who happens to work on big budget films.

pls post links or vids or pics

No he's a dogshit director. Put your glasses back on and watch the fucking movie, faggo.

>marvelcucks

why don't these people just use straps? if you want to circumvent grip strength, why would you do so using asymmetrical muscle employment? i guess they alternate which way their grip goes every set?

meant to say goes out of his way to avoid writing hard scenes

Every single thing he changed in Watchmen was for the worse. Entire movie was carried by source material. He tries to make "deep" movies but horrid overreliance on slow-motion(babys idea of "deep") and general shallowness of his ideas make him seem like edgy 13 years old, which is pretty pathetic since he's 50 years old.
He's retarded. There's no other way to put it, and I don't mean this in a joking manner. He's literally retarded. Maybe he stoped developing mentally at some point.
I would say that at least he can shoot pretty, but slow-motion every 5 seconds for no reason in every movie he directs makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

>tfw we failed to protect that smile

Yes

>A well-made movie shouldn't force the audience to puzzle out why they are looking at what is happening, every fucking scene.

this explains a lot

>spoon-feeding = good
>challenging the audience = bad

I hate all capeshit but this Marvel cocksucking is just singularly pathetic

Boards are not singular fucking opinions. Any OP that asserts such a statement is trolling and should be disregarded as such.

>>Sucker Punch
Sucker Punch was a treatise on the objectification of women as seen through the eyes of various nerd subcultures. The prism by which the movie is shown self reflects to the viewer their own ugliness.

It's a movie that literally hates its own audience and spits on them.

>"“I wanted to rub the human race in its own vomit, and force it to look in the mirror.”" - J.G. Ballard

It's a hypnotizing take on psychological trauma. It cleverly turns it into an esoteric, theatrical, fantasy extravaganza. Its own nakedness makes people feel shameful and uncomfortable.

If that isn't true kino, I don't fucking know what is. Plus, it has an abundance of sluts in it.

Because he attempts to say something with his movies, yet fails miserably, there is no consistent tone, narrative, or themes.

now that i stopped to think about it, his style actually is quite similar to malick's. good point.

m8 he didn't even mention Marvel. you Snyder apologists are a either a bunch of memers of serious retards. Probably both.

crappypasta is crap. stop reposting this shit ave seen it already twice today alone its not going to become a meme.

Glad to see we're on the same page.

Language of cinema, faggot. He isn't challenging, he's challenged. Great filmmakers don't force their audience to piece together the motivations behind every scene you desperate cherry picking faggot. If you were "challenged" by BvS, or think you're smart because you "were able to basically follow the plot," you're fucking retarded.

What was that characters name? Without looking it up, who gave lex access to everything, why, and what happened to him as a result? The answer to all 3 of those questions isn't ever explained in the movie. We've seen ONE other Lex scene where he lays out what he wants to a completely different character, 15 minutes earlier in the movie, then a few completely unrelated scenes happen, and now all that time and plot progression jumps back to immediately after the previous Lex scene, where some fucking dude just hands him everything for no reason. It's not that we weren't "spoon fed" it's that it's bad, boring, lazy fucking storytelling. When the characters don't "earn" their plot progression the audience doesn't give a shit.
>I hate all capeshit but this Marvel cocksucking is just singularly pathetic
Fuck your company wars faggotry you know nothing cunt. It's a bad film by ANY filmmaking standards. I don't give a shit about marvel movies. They're boring but generally competent. I've studied BvS because there's so much that can be learned from the amateur level mistakes and bad storytelling decisions.

>What was that characters name? Without looking it up, who did Zemo torture to get his info from?

These are such retarded games. "What's the name of the side character that's literally 2 minutes in the movie."

>The answer to all 3 of those questions isn't ever explained in the movie.
not true, btw
meanwhile, back at the ranch
>some fucking dude just hands him everything for no reason
not true, btw

look, i don't even think the movie is good but some of the things being said are pure bullshit

>These are such retarded games.
These are basic filmmaking and screenwriting questions m8. Who are these people and why are they here and how do they accomplish their goals? Zack just doesn't bother with the whole "narrative logic" because it doesn't look neat.
>"What's the name of the side character that's literally 2 minutes in the movie."
He's literally the most important character in the movie. And he's just a plot device to spoon feed the antagonist everything for nothing in the first act. Woulda been too hard to show The Smartest Man In The World do something crafty or cool or badass to earn access to everything. So fuck it, here's this dude, he gives lex the ship and the body with no setup or reason and then fucks off out of the movie with no consequence.
>What was that characters name? Without looking it up, who did Zemo torture to get his info from?
Idk haven't seen the movie. I'm not a company wars faggot and I don't give a shit about captain America. Nice diversion though.

Im not the guy you're replying to, but he has a point and you are dodging it kid. its a bad movie with an absence of cohesive storytelling. It's borderline absurd moviemaking, Its exactly the type of movie to show in cinema schools to teach what not to do. It really is that bad.

The character is never introduced. He appears with finch in the preceding scene. It's MAYBE implied that he's a senator. His only motivation given is "we can help each other out" or some other lazy vague bullshit.

Terrible, sloppily put together chucklefuck movies.
Wanting to be the wachowski girls and failing miserably.
In-movie ads.

>Watchmen was good.

>Nice diversion though.
You brought up the comparison.
>I don't give a shit about marvel movies. They're boring but generally competent.

They have the same "problem" but one is "competent", the other isn't.

SEEMS LEGIT

to all the Zack Snyder haters:

Has Marvel in any shape or form, created a serious / intellectual adaptation of a comic book story?

A movie that challenges the norms and makes you think, not those generic popcorn flicks that they churn out every couple of months.

Go on, I'll wait.

Neither company has achieved this.

The only thing that comes close is Unbreakable
All other capeshit is subpar

>Neither company has achieved this.

>300
>Watchmen
>Man of Steel
>BvS

your bait is pathetic

>You brought up the comparison
Are you really this delusional? I never mentioned civil war. I explicitly said I don't care about marvel movies.
>They have the same "problem" but one is "competent", the other isn't
Really going full ham on the diversionary shit now huh? At what part of "haven't seen it" did you get lost?

Goddamn Snyderfags are disconcerting

guaranteed replies

hey im sorry to break your bubble but i have hated snyder for years and i dont give a flying fuck about marvel you twat.
WTF is with all of you morons and company wars everywhere all the time anyway? is this all the counterargument you can muster in your childish mind?

Fuck snyder
Fuck DC
Fuck Marvel
FUCK YOU

In what way is BvS intellectual?

It's Clickbait: The Movie, with symbolism.

Wouldn't waste your time debating this man.

He thinks 300 is an example of a serious intellectual take on the comic book film despite it being nothing but oily men shouting in front of green screens as they perform a chads revisionist history lesson.

It was a meme goldmine though.

please tell me in what shape or form why 300 isn't a serious movie

>Why does Sup Forums hate me?

this is JUST one example

Do you think Snyder picked her?

It would make sense, seeing as he is clearly a closet homosexual.

>At what part of "haven't seen it" did you get lost?
Why do you make claims about movies you haven't seen?

I bet you've seen The Avengers, right? Written by Joss Whedon. What was the name of scientist working on the Tesseract played by Skarsgard?

These are retarded games that anyone can play on any movie.

You've seen The Godfather? What was the name of the person asking for a favor of the Don?

You've seen Blade Runner? What was the name of the bad female synth?

Retarded games proving nothing else than people don't remember names of side characters that had little to do with the plot.

Literally 10/10

Because he can't direct actors' performances to save his life.

He also focuses too much on trailer-bait scenesand neglects the story as a whole.

This. He would be a good director for music videos.

>to all the Zack Snyder haters:
I don't hate zack Snyder. I "hate" bad movies. And by "hate" I mean obsessively, masochistically study. Just happens that Snyder is 3/3 on hitting the brown note of bad.

>Has Marvel in any shape or form, created a serious / intellectual adaptation of a comic book story?
Can't talk about BvS without Marvel, can we?

And zack actually loses extra points for trying and failing so spectacularly. He's pretentiously shoving all these retarded metaphor sequences and references to Renaissance art, but can't even get basic narrative storytelling right. If BvS wasn't so up its own ass is wouldn't have been judged as harshly for being a sloppy piece of shit movie full of bafflingly stupid plot points.

>A movie that challenges the norms and makes you think,
It only makes you think about the direction, not the story. Constantly asking what is happening and why isn't the right kind of "think." Nobody gave a shit about what Flash says in the tease, just why the fuck it was presented like a dream. Poor direction repeatedly sabotages the story.

>not those generic popcorn flicks that they churn out every couple of months
It's certainly not "generic" I guess, other than totally jacking tdk's plot structure it's a big goofy self important mess. The LD kid in school that gets real into karate and ayn rand isn't "generic" either. He's "special." BvS is special too.

He originally wanted her as Faora in MoS, but she was pregnant. On the one hand, Antje was wasted in that role. On the other, without that role, she may have retired.

And another stupid thing is that for whatever reason Snyder really, really wanted Eisenberg and willingly gave out the role of Luthor just to have him.

She could have been Wonder Woman.

He also gave Flash to Ezra Miller because he actually auditioned for Lex

>Why do you make claims about movies you haven't seen?
What medication aren't you taking? Believe the extent of what I said was marvel generally makes boring but competent movies. They do. Deal with it faggot.

>What was the name of scientist working on the Tesseract played by Skarsgard?
Here's the thing I guess I didn't Snyder down enough to your level. It isn't about whether or not you remember his name, It's did the movie even say it? I guarantee to you that skarrsguardsman's character name is spoken, and why he was involved was established. You remembered what his job was. Can't do that for BvS spaceship enabler without looking up the actor's imdb credit.
>What was the name of the person asking for a favor of the Don?
Was it said in the movie?
>What was the name of the bad female synth?
was it said in the movie?
>Retarded games proving nothing else than people don't remember names of side characters that had little to do with the plot.
In order to remember you must first learn. All your "games" are answerable by watching the movie. Mine wasn't.

Hating Snyder is a meme.

It's a consensus that he's a great artist.

>I don't hate zack Snyder. I "hate" bad movies. And by "hate" I mean obsessively, masochistically study. Just happens that Snyder is 3/3 on hitting the brown note of bad.

Dawn of The Dead was good.
300 was good.
Owls of Ga'hool was good.
Watchmen was good.
MoS was okay.
BvS was okay.

3/3 ???

>Can't talk about BvS without Marvel, can we?
You're the one who brought them up.

> He's pretentiously shoving all these retarded metaphor sequences

Thematic imagery > generic imagery.

>It only makes you think about the direction, not the story.
For you. People have been analyzing this story pretty hard. I'm not even claiming it's deep but denying that people are actually giving it a serious try to look for something in it means your claims are subjective.

TL;DR
Zack's intellect intimidates me

It's not a meme.
Your mind and judgement are warped. You're out of touch.

GG WP.

The dude was a senator. Who gives a shit what his name was? Same thing goes for skarsgards character. What use is it that it is said in the movie but you can't even remember it? Waste of fucking time.
