10

twentieth

excluding 50s and 60s players

Jordan - obvious
Magic - GOAT leader, PG
Bird - GOAT clutch player, SF, trash talker
Kareem - best offensive weapon of all time, Duncan level proffesionalism on the court
Duncan - Magic level leadership, most efficient player of all time, GOAT PF in the best era of PFs
LeBron - the most gifted player of all time, whether he reached his potential or not. Has the whole package and then some
Shaq - same as LeBron, dominant beyond anyones control
Hakeem - changed the game for big men, even then, still the most dominant finesse big man to play the game

that's a pretty solid top 8, I really don't know who's after that.
I would say Kobe is the front runner.
Then Iverson just at what he did with what he had.
Then Dirk because regardless of his accolades, he was one of the hardest players to guard, ever.
If Curry won game 5 of the finals, probably would've said him regardless of his chucking. But that's out the window, him and Durant will never be in any discussion ever again, maybe the Warriors can be considered a GOAT team, but still.
Karl Malone is a Kareem tier offensive weapon.
Isiah Thomas is a Magic level leader, and goat manlet scorer, proto Iverson.

I'M BEING OBJECTIVE, I DON'T EVEN LIKE MOST OF THESE PLAYERS

this list is based in order on the players I would choose to build a championship team/franchise around
1. LeBron
2. Duncan
3. Jordan
4. Magic
5. Bird
6. Kareem
7. Hakeem
8. Shaq

Damn good list man
>someone being objective and intelligent on spee

talk about someone who gets way too stuck in the moment

No Wilt. Opinion discarded.

>I place Duncan

>excluding 50s and 60s players

Okay I don't rate my top 10 the same as everyone

I have starting 5 + greatest second 5
I prefer positional....

1st TEAM.....top 5
>magic
>jordan
>bird
>duncan
>shaw
2nd string
>oscar
>kobr
>james
>malone
>kareem

>Duncan
>most efficient player of all time

how are you defining this untrue statement?

Since 1960, Duncan is
46th in True Shooting
47th in Offensive Box +/-
39th in Offensive rating (with Kobe the chucker btw)
24th in Free Throw Rate
25th in Offensive Rebounding Rate
15th in Offensive Win Shares
10th in Usage Rate

Reggie Miller is a far superior example of offensive efficiency

1) MJ - you so nuts if you pick anyone else here

2) Kareem - TWENTY year NBA career after a four years in college, NINETEEN All-Star appearances, won Finals MVP at the age of 38, averaged 35/17 in a season.

3) Russ - 11 rings. Easy era but he played great team ball and dominated Wilt H2H despite being outmatched physically

4) Wilt - Dominant statistically/larger than life figure.

5) Magic - Insanely clutch and versatile. Along with Larry, built the NBA from a fringe league to the juggernaut it is today.

6) LeBron - Can't in good faith put him above Magic, though he is far more dominant statistically, as Magic's era was infinitely more difficult. Greatest player of his generation by far though.

7) Shaq - Impossible to defend in his prime.

8) Bird - Was probably 99.9% as good as Magic in his prime, but only played for 13 years. He was probably better than LeBron at his peak though as he fit into a team better (can play off the ball) and was a bit more clutch.

9) Duncan - Pretty much no weaknesses anywhere and dominant defensively. Won at least 50 games EVERY YEAR of his career besides the lockout seasons.

10) Hakeem - Greatest one-man playoffs in history.

5-8 is really close though.

Honorable Mention:

Oscar, Jerry West, Dirk, KG, Malone, Barkley

in the top 10 all time

>dominated Wilt H2H

That's actually false.

Wilt just dominated Russell less than he dominated everyone else H2H, and because the Celts were a loaded team and got MUH RINGS the narrative was born

excluding older players (roughly anyone pre kareem and dr j). 3 point line came in for magic and birds rookie season and completely changed the game.

1. kareem abdul jabbar
2. michael jordan
3. lebron james
4. magic johnson
5. hakeem olajuwon
6. isiah thomas
7. shaquille o'neal
8. tim duncan
9. kobe bryant
10. kevin garnett/scottie pippen

>building a franchise around bird or duncan over kareem or hakeem

>criticizing other lists

>Isiah over Shaq and Duncan
>no Dirk or Malone

Great stuff bro. Can't disagree with anything you say here. Cheers!

I should've said reliable, he's moves and judgements were effiecient. Every play that he had his hand on was for the better. If he has to score, he'll score, if he sees a wide open 3, he would pass it. His only weakness is he wasn't very athletic or big, so he got posterized alot, but he was still a top shot blocker in the league.
Probably better to say he probably had the best basketball mind for a bigman.

1. lebron
2. jordan
3. duncan
4. kareem
5. magic
6. wilt
7. shaq
8. kobe
9. russell
10. west

11.brook

before the block highly
after the block below kobe

Top 5

>tfw Kobr probably would've tore something if he made the playoffs last season

youtube.com/watch?v=J3NvhxKicJY

>duncan deserves to be placed higher because he's listed as a PF

well done
dubs checked

Jordan
Kareem
Kobe
Magic
Bird
Duncan
Shaq
Lebron
Hakeem
idk whos #10

that's also a reflection of playing on the best team with the best system/coach in the league for his whole career. while he was a big part of that, it's hard to say he was the dominant factor, as the Spurs have not suffered too much even after Duncan was well out of his prime. He is in some ways the Bill Russell of his generation.

>literally who

Among bigs, Kareem, then Tim very close.

This is the saddest video in NBA history. I bet you can't find a sadder video from a game.

I bet Ibaka hates himself a bit for just reacting on instinct and going for the block in a game that's already over. Duncan just wanted one last old man dunk...

1. Jordan
2. Russell
3. Magic
4. Kareem
5. LeBron
6. Bird
7. Wilt
8. Duncan
9. Kobe
10. Shaq

>no wilt
No thanks.

>going out like that
damn, that's his last career shot attempt

>Duncan's last career shot
>Durant's last series win with the Thunder
>OKC's last series win for... ?

I assume you mean among PFs because he's not a Top 10 All Time Player.

I put him 3rd behind Barkley and Malone.

Harry kane is a better spurs player țbh

look its the samefag kobe hater from /nba/ general

>excluding 50s and 60s players
>having a guy whose main era of NBA domination was the early 70s and the ABA era (Kareem)
Why do people always do that? Kareem was literally beating a league that didn't have the best basketball players of his era in it.
Don't get me wrong he's top tier, but if you're going to exclude 60s players and not include a single player drafter before 1979 besides Kareem, might aswell rule the 70s out too.

>him and Durant will never be in any discussion ever again
I'm sure you said the same after Lebron's 6pts final performance in 2011.

>Karl Malone is a Kareem tier offensive weapon.
lolno, biggest choker in playoffs history

Other than that, it's an alright list.

>Greatest one-man playoffs in history.
That's Duncan in 2003.

not in it. mj, magic, bird, lebron, kobe, shaq, wilt, kareem, hakeem, dr j, Bill Russell, pippen, are above him, all off the top of my head
