It's theoretically possible, but not practically. The embryo would have to be implanted and attached to a good blood supply probably on the colon then you would have to get the right hormones delivered on the right schedule. Then you'd have to do a c-section (or whatever). Maybe in 50-100 years, so no time soon.

i think, from a medical standpoint, its mostly down to convenience since the inverted skin of the penis functions as the actual vagina. i know there are some procedures where they will use a part of the intestines instead of the skin.

Tijuana here. I don't know that "vaginoplasty" is the operation here, inasmuch as there is no vagina to plasticize. The usual process is to remove the testicles and then invert the penile tissue into the body, thus creating a vagina.
Sexual reassignment has, up until now, been the domain of plastic surgeons. They're all about appearance, not about function. Here in Tijuana our doctors not only know about all the AMA-approved procedures, they also study in Europe, where lots of interesting things are going on. Even so I doubt that modern medicine has figured out how to reassign functional reproductive organs. Hell, the poor FTMs still don't even have proper penises.
