It cut out the fat that bogs down a lot of other current blockbusters

Drums.

Effective at what?

Great first 20 minutes.

Because it finally puts the patriarchy in its place.

It was primarily visual in how it told what little story it had, which is somewhat rare in mainstream movies these days.

the section of this article talking about it does a pretty good job of summarizing what makes it so masterful. feel free to skip the rest of it if you don't feel like reading about how much the author hates Inarritu.

ctrl+F for "4. FUNCTIONAL FILMMAKING" to jump to it

It's self-assured world building. You feel as though it's a peek into this vast nightmarish world where so much happens and here's just a bit.

Amongst tons of other things done exceedingly well. Direction, editing.

Practical effects.

...

because you're a video game playing manchild

Why the fuck is it in all caps?

The guy's gimmick is emulating the Hulk's style of speaking. It's retarded, but the writing itself is generally very insightful.

Great style, amazingly executed practical effects, and solid visual story telling. It's hard not a love a film after that.

>*not to love a film

fugg

Witness me is a good meme

Because people like dumb action shit like Transformers.

Mad Max Fury Road offers exactly that, but allows plebs to validate themselves because MUH GEORGE MILLER and MUH INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION.

This film is a meme, and the sooner it will be forgotten, the better.

Just like you. Sooner you're forgotten the better.

you're so right. this movies horrible, when will people learn that Green Room was the better movie

Good read user thx

>remove based Gibson
>remove the Australian setting

fuck this "film"

It's a 50 year old stage-coach western with modern effects and a post apocalyptic setting. Simple to the point action driven and didn't get slowed down with bullshit

yes us philistines can only recognize genius when nobody else can, like Batman V Superman and Green Lantern. The real Cape Kino or whatever.

Reddit must be thirsty as fuck for action films if this shit is all they can harp about.

this honestly

>dat birdman article
how can inarritu ever recover?

It's just one big long carchase. And it is fucking awesome.

Am I the only one who hated the story of this film?

And no, the fact that it's "visual" don't make it good.

change george miller for visual medium and independent production for practical effects and this is a 9/10 pasta

Being shitty.

This frankly.

It's a technically well-made movie that is ultimately shit because of the non-existent story, weak protagonist and SJW agenda crammed down the audience's collective throat.

I feel bad for you if you unironically think it's good.
