Never seen someone win a fight with Taekwondo.

They aren't satan but they are useless against guns and you'll most probably won't have to use them your entire life anyways

Useful if the other guy doesn't have a gun that could shoot you with.

don't know mister satan, why don't you tell us?

Well, Satan, irl they rarely come in handy and at worst just give you ill founded confidence, so they're just fancy sports in the end.

Martial arts > gym.

There is so much bullshit out there. People unironically think Bruce lee was anything other than a glorified choreographer. I've heard people say he could beat prime Mike Tyson. As a rule If it's used effectively in MMA, then it's good. Most eastern martial arts are trash.

CONCEALED

CARRY

I've done Taekwondo for 10 years and kickboxing for 3. I can tell you that tkd is close to useless in street fights, kickboxing can win you most fights against a layman. If you want to be killer, take a striking sport along with a grappling sport and you're good to go. I live in holland so I don't have to worry about people shooting me.

is right. Bruce Lee is an actor and Tyson would whoop his ass easily.

Don't listen to these basement dwelling memesters. I'm a red stripe in Tae Kwon Do (level right below red belt which is right below black stripe which is right below 'watch out buster'). I've easily tossed kids twice my size over and once the sensei even had to hold me back and call off the fight because I was about to unleash an axe kick on this other kid.

Essentially if you want to toughen up and catch all the ladies, put on a gi and start learning your Katas inside and out.

I'm and a black stripe and daily reminder that I can kick your ass if I use kickboxing. You can't axe kick anyone taller than 160 btw.

Judo is the only good practical martial arts, maybe bjj depending on the school.

Overall the whole thing is just faggy.

Boxing + Wrestling is better imho.

In a 1v1 fight, you'd definitely lose against someone trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or even Judo. Only when you're fighting against multiple opponents is kick boxing any use, and then you should just kick any one who comes to close in the nuts and try to make a run for it.

>and once the sensei even had to hold me back and call off the fight because I was about to unleash an axe kick on this other kid.

YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT MY MENTALITY BRO, ONCE I GET MAD I BLACKOUT AND BODIES START DROPPING. MY MASTER SENSAI HAD TO HOL ME BACK DAWG.

lmao uh-huh. Tae Kwon Do is bullshitdo

Bas Rutten here would fuck you up

Yeah no shit he weighs 25kg more than me.

You don't know shit about kickboxing.

I once axed kicked multiple boards in half.. so yea.. I think I can handle some Dutch pansy

t. Bas

I was calling you Bas Rutten and saying you would fuck up the guy I was replying too

>TWISTED FUCKING CYCLE-PATH

Tell me how you'd defeat a Brazilian Jiu Jitsuka then.
You'd be on the ground in a second, and then you'd be fucked.

Boards don't fight back.

Oh, t-thanks

>Brazilian manlet tries to grab me
>Each time he tries to come close I jab his face and kick his thighs and back up
>His legs collapse before he gets his hands on me

Obviously it depends on the skill of the other guy, I'm just saying that one technique doesn't automatically beat the other. Both have pros and cons and you should just do both.

BBJ and Kickboxing are both practical and it would depend on the individual. Just in my anecdotal evidence from what I've seen a lot of over confident grapplers approach a middling tier kickboxers though and get beaten. It's best to be well rounded desu. Learning one or the other leaves big holes.

I would put you on the ground and break your arm in seconds.

This is how it'd go m9
youtube.com/watch?v=4Q9RJIje7hc

As kickboxer you basically need to KO the Jiu Jitsuka with one of your first hits or you lose
>Each time he tries to come close I jab his face and kick his thighs and back up
You're making the completely unrealistic assumption that you can back up faster than he can approach you walking forward. The other fighter is not some end boss in an RPG where you can just go in and out of the danger zone at free will, and you seem to be assuming your opponent is for some reason both slower and weaker than you.

Internet tough guy

He didn't land a single punch. The average Jiu Jitsuka has no experience in taking punches. A few hooks and he'd be out.

> lel im so tuff I would kickbawxing yoo

You'd be dead if you came near my dojo.

Oh yeah? I'd pull out my katana and teleport behind you in milliseconds

youtube.com/watch?v=UbNy9qwYThI

>The average Jiu Jitsuka has no experience in taking punches

I did Judo, kickboxing, krav maga and then boxing. And I think I learned something new from each of them. Each sport gave me insights into fighting that I hadn't had before.

A lot of people hate on Chinese martial arts, taikwondo and Aikido, but often the techniques are quite valid. It's just the training doesn't teach you what they claim to teach you, because the philosophy of the art goes before practical application. But you will still learn new things from them.

I'll tell you why, Denmark Satan.

youtube.com/watch?v=4DzcOCyHDqc

Taekwondo is a sport so they don't claim anything, but Aikido is certainly guilty of this.

>Most eastern martial arts are trash

Too bad most "eastern martial arts" were created for combat in actual wars, and then westerners (starting with amerifat soldiers stationed in okinawa) took them, brought them back to the west and mcDonaldized them. Judo was an incredibly violent discipline before it became "sport suburban 10 years olds practice on monday afternoons ".

Anyway muay thai>>>>>>>>>everything else

I want to try out muay. In which ways is it better than kickboxing? It uses elbows, no?

Actually, Judo is a fairly new sport. It still a bit dumbed down in favour of competitions, but it has never been a super violent sport.

When I did Krav Maga I often used techniques I learned at Judo in ways I never thought possible. Shoulder locks to disarm someone for example. And how to hold someone without getting elbow'd in the face. It's a shame they don't really teach that in Judo anymore. I'm afraid that knowledge will become a bit lost to the masses.

What would you do if you were concerned about your ability to defend yourself? Your options are

>buy a gun and get a concealed carry pemit
OR
>buy years and years of lessons in East Asian interpretive dance

What do you choose?

Get a cellphone and call the bolice.

This might shock you, but some cultures don't prefer shooting someone in the face over every single issue.

Learn the militarized version of each martial art for practicality, these tend to do away with too many forms since their aimed at training conscripts etc etc

>get a concealed carry permit
No thanks, I don't live in a paranoid shithole

>self defense
I clearly stated what it waas for. If you aren't defending yourself you shouldn't be hurting people with or without a gun.

Most people that did it were awkward lanky white kids
source: me

Purchase and carry arms for my defense, of course. Unfortunately, this and running away are the only methods of recourse against criminal acts afforded to me in this nanny-state nightmare of a country - unless I´m willing to risk a firearms offence, of course.

Then show me. There are exceptions. Muay Thai is based but nah, most eastern martial arts are bullshit and always have been. Show me some of this incredible Gung fu/Akido/Wing chun used in high levels of MMA. The talent pool has gotten so good and no professional fighter uses this shit. People always say Cung lee, but watch the dude just hammerfist people.

In the Netherlands Judo and Kick boxing are quite popular sports for kids.
But it's nearly impossible to find a wrestling gym here.

I can defend myself with my fists because the aggressor isn't concealed carrying a pistol.

>This might shock you, but some cultures don't prefer shooting someone in the face over every single issue.
You´ve been watching too many spaghetti-westerns, Maximilian.

How do you know? By attacking you they've already shown that they are subhumans who care nothing for the law. They easily could be carrying a gun.

>I can defend myself with my fists because the aggressor isn't concealed carrying a pistol.
You can´t predict what an aggressor is carrying, and in the case of weaponry, a knife is no less dangerous than a firearm - and the aggressor will at the very least be armed with a knife.

I hope your country is violently overtaken by literal communists who proceed to rob and beat you at gunpoint. Maybe that´ll teach you the value of self-reliance. Fucking nu-male.

Go google sanshou if you want combat sports martial arts
But you'll need sparring to be effective at self defense, which many McDojos dont do

MMA is a very specific setting. Knowing how to use weapons for example that Ching chong arts might teach is totally irrelevant there. Or having to watch for a second monk coming at you. And they don't even tell you getting the fuck away from violent situations is a valid option, as they do tell you in Aikido.

Not that I would pick any of those arts above a sport for self defense.

>it's another episode of the pro-gun american living in finland zealously defending his toys

>But you'll need sparring to be effective at self defense
You´ll need a gun or light feet to be effective at self defense.

What's the point in posting bullshit like this? This thread is nothing more than one lie and misinformation after the other.

What is it about Sup Forums and Liddit that compels people to lie so shamelessly?

I mean if some idiot is trying to one up you youd have to defend yourself

If its a bunch of idiots then you should run if your alone

Most martial arts are useless in street fights. I remember when my old High Schools kick boxing champ challenged the best Taekwondo fgt for an mma match. Taekwondo nigga got fucked in less than a minute

>it´s another episode of the delusional europoor desperately accusing sound-minded people of being american
I´m Finnish. Believe me, if there was any way for me to gain American citizenship, I´d be speeding for the airport at this very moment.

The only fights I've been in involved angry boyfriends or drunk assholes. I'm not going to hold those people at gunpoint but I feel safe knowing I could kick their ass if they provoked me. I live in a good region, so there's no nigger going to rob me or something.

Moreover, I'm pretty positive a conceal carry isn't going to save you from an armed mugging.

If you're rich you can marry me. You can't have my boipucci though.

In the Netherlands most fights end as soon as someone falls to the floor. So boxing is usually all you ever need.

>angry boyfriends

Imaging gay domestic violence between to actual equals and fighters is pretty awesome

>The only fights I've been in involved angry boyfriends or drunk assholes.
That is of no concern for the average citizen, who ought to possess the right to arm himself/herself for purposes of self-defense.

>Moreover, I'm pretty positive a CONCEAL carry isn't going to save you from an armed mugging.
The odds of survival are always better for the armed person. This is literally why armies exist and why governments worlwide cement their position by imposing strict firearm regulation.

In here most fights end when someone is dead/unconcious. Russians do that tho

I'd Fuck all of you up. Anyone brave enough meet me in front of Sobeys in 10 min.

>This is literally why armies exist
Citizens are no soldiers, not by a long shot.

>why governments worlwide cement their position by imposing strict firearm regulation
You're talking about NRA lobbyists. Now who's the one being unrealistic.

Do you really think that a citizen from the Netherlands would go through great lengths to get a legal firearm AND a conceal carrying permit for the odd chance that someone with a gun is going to rob me? Don't be ridiculous.

Oh boy here we go

because chinks are like 5'0 tall and get beat up by real sized humans.

Alright guys, who would win in a fight?

A Dutch police woman or a fit guy with military grade army pants?

I dunno, i feel the dutch are too relaxed to hate each other
>oh fuck sir you sure got me
>oh yes I did now benis in bagina:DDDD
>hahaha nice prank sir

...

she wins on looks alone. I'd let her give me a cavity search.

Women are incredibly easy to beat unless you get hit in the nuts. Even he most fittest women get rekt by average dudes

We have retarded football hooligans like the British though

Everyone has those
Tbh the dutch are lucky their so confident, maybe thats why they have europes most diverse city

What are police women even good for?

Roleplay sex

I wonder what the girl with the spray is thinking

Don't want the boots to get wet.

rude

Can we conclude that learning what militaries use is enough?

Time for penis inspection.

That's a fitness model, not real police. That's her boyfriend. Her name is nochtli if any of you want to find more.

You're actually wrong. She was a police officer, but later she left the corps to become a fitness trainer.

Ik ken haar alleen van dumpertreeten.

Being the cute arm of the law :3

Ik ook.

Much like the sword and spear
All is made irrelevant by firearms

Why spend half of your life perfecting a martial art when some asshole who spent two hours at a range can easily kill you

...

Nope, military tactics are focused on military combat situations, if you are not in the middle of a war zone (like some parts of mexico) and armed with the adequated gear that shit will be close to useless

...

you're telling me militaries don't train some form of close quarters combat?

>carrying a gun when a female officer can carry my gun for me
top cuck

Depends on what the standard is.
If its the bare basics to get people outside of their comfort zone, or if its Spetznats(Specialist Group) in some form.

whatever suits the needs of the people

I love this photo.

...

The nose knows.

they are not.
of course, there is a lot of mythology behind them; but the training and the fight preparation they give you is really good.
i've trained Muay-Thai, Taekwondo and Kung-Fu; later i just stick with Muay-Thai.
also, it will depend on the fighter, the individual; it is not that some art is better than another. but some individuals are better fighters.
