Yeah sure, you obviously know more than me about french people.
No one gives a shit about the english language and the UK in France. Most of us don't even know about the "lingua franca". The majority of the french people don't care about english being the international language, we just don't talk in english because we suck at it. Our educational system is terrible. At 20 years old, people have the same english skills as they had in the beginning of highschool.
It's actually the brits who fucking hate us for no reason. Particularly when we see shit like this :
