Have you ever personally met a famous athlete? Not like a fan meet and greet, but like actually hung out with them

Have you ever personally met a famous athlete? Not like a fan meet and greet, but like actually hung out with them.

I went camping with a member member of the '69 World Series Mets because I was dating his daughter at the time and she invited me. Really nice guy but I couldn't talk to him about baseball because I don't watch it.

*granddaughter
Fuck I am retarded

I'm related to a guy who boxed a guy who boxed ali

Dan Marino came over to my parents' house when I was about 8. He was a pretty cool guy, seemed genuinely pleased when I told him I was a Dolphins fan (I wasn't though).

I was friends with Jim Leyritz's son for a couple years, so I often went over to their house after practice. He wasn't afraid to buy nice stuff for his kids but he didn't spoil them either, a really fine line to tread imo. They had this really awesome pool that had this bar-type thing along one side (the seats were underwater), so you could sit and drink/eat while watching a game on one of the flatscreens on the upper walls of the gondola (at least I think that's what it was, like a tent but made of wood and stone).

I played football with Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and Blake Brockermeyer's (OT for Carolina Panthers) sons in middle school

my ex girlfriend was a relative of Gary Medel from Ínter de Milán. I got a NT signed by him.

wut

my cousin played for the philadelphia flyers in the 80s, and was kinda famous I guess but Id be surprised if anyone under the age of 40 knows who he is now.

Doesn't really count but I was the lifeguard on duty while they were filming the pool scenes on End of Days (which were later cut, I think) and Arnold Schwarzenegger came and chilled with me on the bleachers for a few hours. He brought me dinner from craft services.

My parents know Marino, I met him, he was a nice guy, I pretended to be a Dolphins fan.

I'm friends with Colin Webster, son of Mike Webster. He told me some great stories about his dad (before he went downhill). He also told me some really sad stories and him, stuff he did towards the end of his life. Heartbreaking shit.

Come again?

I was at the casino in Peoria one night in 2007. The IHSA state basketball tournaments were going on in town at the same time. MJ's son Jeffrey who was attending Loyal Academy in the Chicago suburbs was playing, and rumors were swirling that he was there watching his son.

Anyway, I was playing at the VIP tables that night, and sure enough, guess who walked in? He sat down at a table in the corner with an older white guy I didn't recognize. I watched his for about twenty minutes. He was throwing down between $5k-$10k per hand, and seemed to be doing alright. I was also looking around the room, and noticed that there didn't seem to be any security or anything. So I just went for it.

I got up from the table I was at, and sat down two seats down from him. He gave me this look like "Who the fuck do you think you are?" and gave me a kind of annoyed snort. I threw down $5k, and he threw down $50k in cash. I got dealt a 12, hit and held after a tense few deals left me with a 20. He got dealt a 15, hit, and busted out immediately with a queen.

He absolutely lost his shit and called security over and ordered them to kick me out.

Fun night.

Most of the Burton pro riders from the last 10 years or so. If weed smoking was an Olympic sport they'd be Platinum medalists ha.

Who is it?

I met Alshon Jeffery at a party he hosted before Carolina played in the Women's Final Four last year. Got to talk to him for about 10 minutes. Very soft spoken and down to earth. 10/10 would meet again

I had beers with Tim Dwight on my 23rd birthday. Also when I was a kid Cam Neely would play street hockey with us kids and then hang out with our nannies.

Sam Hinkie literally posts on /nba/ general

I've spoken with him on Skype twice and had no idea desu

I've met many Olympic fencers, but that happens when you have a sport as specialized as fencing.

i used to date Francesco Totti's younger sister-in-law when we were in high school. I went to his house a couple times. He's a very likeable guy, a bit distant most of the times and he didn't talk much, but when he did he was always funny as shit.

One of my classmates in high school went on to become a pro divegrass player and Swiss footgolf champion.
However
>famous
no.

Probably not famous by international standards but I once met Tero Pitkämäki (javelin thrower) at a gym in Helsinki.

The douche left all the plates on the bar when he was finished.

I was at a Stanford basketball game when Andrew Luck showed up and sat courtside, like two seats down from me. Some freshmen came up to him, asking for a picture. He took their phone, stepped back, took a picture of them just standing there looking confused, handed the phone back, and changed seats.

Yeah, Rui Patrício a few years ago. Lucky for me he always was one of my favorite players ever since his debut where he defended a penalty.
I'm from Leiria and my dad is a good friend of his father. Got to go his house in Lisbon and he gave me a signed shirt he actually used in one his past games.

He's very discrete and modest.
Pretty cool guy.

If I ever meet him again I'll suck his dick for the Euro, no homo

My cousin played for the the Rockies, the Reds, and the 2002 Angeles, so I got to meet a lot of the players on those teams. The Molina bros were the coolest, really funny guys.

I worked at a summer camp where some former PGA golfer was a golf instructor. Guy was funny as fuck and told us insane stories of when he actually had a lot of money. He's a whale now. Wish I could remember that fucker's name. Mark something I think?
