a friend of mine released these demos and I'm helping him release an album. I personally recommend "I Wanna Marry You" as one of the better songs he's written

New album on the 12th, it's a debatably infringing negativland-esque sound collage. I've been bad about giving feedback, so I'm going to say something about every album ITT that has "electronic" in the genre tags, as well as returning any feedback I get, until I go to sleep and maybe tomorrow too. In the meantime, please rate or review my stuff on RYM

This one is always good
As always, the top dawgs are Even Oxen, Connor Leary, Peaches Davenport and Pink Pots. There are other good ones too; I'll try and post em in a little bit.
>What's stopping you from associating yourself with a label?
I don't know what I'm doing right now. I've considered joining Hutto's label. Who knows how long I'll be making music though; it's not something I've been doing since I was a little kid or anything...it could just be a phase, so joining a label might be pretentious. Plus, if I was actually hitting it big right now, I'd want to go Chance the Rapper's route and see how much I could do without a label.
Oh, and I don't consider Jacob and Friends or Cavern Brew a label, I didn't sign anything to get in there.

I listened to this earlier, good stuff. Oddly unique sound despite the DIY sound
As for the question of the day, I am the label he's associated with.

I know some of you really like this one. For me it's the embodiment of hitting an absolute low in the middle of winter. I think it's my best work. I plan to release this as part of a complete album sometime around January/February with the delayed tape release.
Still loving Copy. Really enjoyable for studying lately. Excited for the new album.

This is pretty crushing music, it's produced in a way that makes it sound so small and intimate. It's like if Kid A became even more Kid A. The melodies are really successful too.

Thanks for listening. To answer the person who asked the other day, the song 'everything' has never been recorded and I have no plans to record it right now
To answer the thread question, the labels haven't reached out, so I guess if they did I would look over their terms and see if I wanted to be associated with them
and also Good Music:
I also did something a lot weirder, only guitar is used on this but I really love it
youtube.com
well satan, the glitchy plunderphonic sound is prominent in both yours and Girl Talks "Secret Diary". I was just reminded of it heavily when listening to your stuff.
>lofi, emo, indie, reeeeee
There's a demo here I made a while back as well as a collection of songs I found that I recorded through high school.
Could listen to this if on DXM. Not really a big fan of "Ambient" but it's p good. I especially like how you lower the bit rate on a lot of the stuff, nice dying battery sounds.
The song is nice and your singing is solid. Production is a little bit flat though. Sounds like you didn't change your strings before or something.
It just sounds like Teen Suicide. Arrangement is a little boring desu. In my opinion a song with two chords can't really get away with having the same strumming pattern and background instrumentation for 3 minutes.

I'm still working on a full length solo. I have some songs written. Also a full length with a band
And I don't even know how to associate with a label. Do you just send stuff in or something?
Nice drumming. It reminds me of the beginning of Rampton by Teeth of Lions Rule the Divine
I dig how much variation there is in this. I feel like people sometimes use the tag "ambient" as an excuse to release a half hour of unchanging drone. This is really good though

You definitely know how to write compelling chord progressions, the actual composition of this is great and I love the effect-laden sampling. Maybe experiment more with sidechaining your kicks to complete the psych transformation.

Nice sound design, not the best production quality, but I'm still enjoying it. Maybe try more full parallel compression on the percussion to make it a bit less flat, I'm no mixing expert though.

That's some of my favorite feedback I think I've ever gotten for that. Thanks, I'm glad to hear you think that.
>I feel like people sometimes use the tag "ambient" as an excuse to release a half hour of unchanging drone
Thanks for the feedback on my stuff, and I definitely agree with you on this. Don't get me wrong, some of that stuff can be great, but it really takes a lot for it to stand out to me.
Love your music as well. I gave some detailed feedback on Alien Woods/Alien Love awhile back and have it downloaded on my computer. Keep it up, I look forward to hearing what the full length stuff sounds like.
Thanks! Do what works for you, but I'm glad to hear you think it's worth checking out later.
what kind of shipping does bandcamp charge for lps? does it do a flat rate like amazon or just calculate it based on weight/locaiton/etc?

meant to be a reply to my original postthis is really cool, sometimes this stuff can get a bit repetitive but I really dig it
I really like this too, I'm not even sure what I'd call it.
Hello bandcamp urchins. It's time to play:
IS IT WORTH YOUR TIME?
The game where the genres are made up and the mixing doesn't matter.
Today's contestants
Mid-west emo, self described "reeeee"-core from Oregon. And as tribute to America's most "reeee"-core state they've been cursed to live in, they're perfectly at home ripping Modest Mouse's guitar riffs. They wish they could be louder and wish they could afford more than a $50 condenser mic, but strive for that loud punk anthem sound in spite of it. Nevertheless, it always charming to see a artists desperately reach for what is always just out of reach. 1st track is a good one and Backdraft is a solid attempt at a powerful closer.
IIWYT?: Probably
The Glass Tapes often takes his trips to west Massachusetts and when he does he always brings his condenser mic. There he spends a couple of days strumming a couple of chords, adds reverb to it, and puts it on bandcamp. Albeit, pleasant sounding, but certainly fleeting.
IIWYT?: No
De poco is a group of musically competent friends who make music together after a night downtown failing to pick up chicks. The bass is too loud, drums to quiet, the vocals way too obscured, and the instrumentals not all that engaging. "There are so many sound on this thing!" was probably said at some point as one dude cycled through the presets on his microkorg.
ISWYT?: No
"Recorded layer by layer on handheld cassette" is boasted about as if it even needs to be said. Still, competent lofi shoegaze. But, doesn't change the fact that nobody gives a fuck about lofi shoegaze no matter how competent it is.
IIWYT?: No
Until next thread! Remember, keep doing what you love!
