Foundation, good series.
Athur c Clark
Childhood,s end
You should if you like detailed Sci fi
Foundation, Foundation and Empire and Second Foundation are really good.
I'm going to recommend some space opera(that mass effect apparently ripped most of the plot from).
I think I saw this suggested somewhere, I might give it a go
Also, were ebooks with eink a fad?
...
I love Asimov's writing...Foundation was just the series I never read is all.
...
I honestly have no idea, I pirated it and read it on my laptop
Here, have some really dense, detailed, and autistic history.
The King James Bible

Revelation Space was pretty good. I've heard there are further books in the series, planning to read them.
Very interesting world created, especially loved the light huggers
This book will always be a favorite
Garbage ass movie aside

Stupid plot aside... this book was horribly written
Earthsea, Fire Starter, Brave New World, A Dog's Purpose, Plato The Five Dialogues
Sleep tight porker
I fucking loved a dog's purpose. And apparently there was a sequel

What the hell is this book even about?
The whole sprawl trilogy is pretty good.
Same with his short stories.
Cat's Cradle. So good; one of all time favorites
The picture of Dorian gray
Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
It's the manual to your life
pic related and i loved the entire riftwar saga by raymond e feist
Edgy
another good vonnegut book is Welcome to the Monkey House. read it if you haven't
Get that shit out of here!
I would expect 90% of people to absolutely hate this book but I think it's masterful at being what it is.
yes
Hey man, cyberpunk always has a little bit of edge to it, it's part of the genre.
This is one of the best science fiction books ever.
I read that and catch 22 back to back. Really got me thinking how bat shit insane people are generally
Dostoevsky is awesome, Notes from Underground is great as well and a lot shorter. If you get a copy of any Russian stuff, the Pevear and Volokhonsky translations are some of the best out there.
>young adult anything
>good
Holy shit this whole thread.
this book is fucking garbage, how many books have you read to call this "God Tier" jesus christ
I never read books for fun but I did read Animal Farm by George Orwell in school and I thought it was interesting.
Totally agree.
Post something faggot
I bet in grade school you were the fag that complained any his group sucking but didn't try to help at all
Catch 22 is legitimately hilarious.
Cherryh appeals to a very specific subset of science fiction readers.
I'm going to avoid the obvious Dune, and instead post something else by Herbert.
goddammit, you people make me sick.
Might as well be a book. Freakin' love this story:
bit dot ly slash 1m9EW8Z
Soldier x
Thank me later
Mein Kampf
Here's another favorite of mine:

Severely underrated book.
...
Read all these. Deff god-tier. Worthy of the thread
I read part of a translation of that. Could not finish out of sheer boredom. Probably the translater though
Loved the short story Sandkings by George R.R. Martin
K. On my list now
Reminds me I need to read that book
Childhood's end was surprisingly readable. It had great imagery. Reminds me a bit of this EVA actually
...
...
Cyber Punk. Its edgy at the core, but will always be the aesthetic of my choice
great book.

sleep tight porker
Also reccing pic related, We by Zamyatin (1984's direct influence), Envy by Yuri Olesha, Nikolai Gogol short stories (I love The Portrait and The Nose), Pushkin short stories (The Bronze Horseman), and two Mikhail Bulgakov books I can not recommend enough, Heart of a Dog and Master and Margarita. Master and Margarita is the best book I've ever read, if you read it follow along with the footnotes.
I got a bit carried away, but that's a good primer on Russian Literature,
Yay I'm a subset! I find it interesting how she writes fluently about humans emotions especially dealing with a lack of belonging and also produces the most realistic imaginations of space battles that I believe exist today.
...
For a pink mohawk flavor, instead of Neuromancer's black trenchcoat, try Snow Crash. It's still cyberpunk, but taken to the other extreme.
I just like her weird aliens.
Fuck it, i'm just going to post the NPR guide. Its a bit dated, and there are some questionable choices, but its mostly alright.
I've never heard of anybody else reading this book series, online or irl
harry potter??? fucking lol fuck off
Apparently Disney approved added Thrawn to the official Star Wars universe.
Not going to be the same as Zahn's amazing trilogy, but with Zahn writing the content for the new character, I expect great things.
This was my favorite of the star wars books, although the bounty hunter tales was close second.
Disney needs to make some bounty hunter themed films
real good, but the diamond age is his best cyberpunk imo
and anathem is better than both, but very different
I already posted it
And you didn't say "sleep tight porker"
Fucking casual
I really liked his Empire from the Ashes trilogy. Heard the Honor series was supposed to be better.
David Weber is another of the good space opera genre.
this moran thinks he's pretty cool.
will do user.
I finished this book last month. Took forever, I'm proud
come on dude. Its a good book. Everyone knows it.
You just mad because its something everyone knows.
The audio book version is highly entertaining as the narration is perfectly done.
I enjoyed cryptonomicon a lot more than I did his other books.
