Yes.

No, you fucking idiot.

No, because there is no air intake? I dunno you fucking tell me

the plane would move backwards before taking off

Will you fuck off?

This thread will take off.

If it somehow matched the exact speed of the plane so it gained speed without driving off the front or rolling off the back until it had the acceleration to take off.

It requires air to pass over the wing to lift off.

Not unless it rolls off the conveyor belt and gains lift from the passing air.

how are there som many stupid people on /B? wtf
ofcourse it will take off the propeller is repelled by air not the wheels so it will mabye go a bit slower then normal cuz the wheels are spinning twice as fast but the airplane would take off without any problems...

Hold a toy car in your hand. Spin the wheels by hand. Does it make a gust of air suddenly flow over the toy car? No? Just spins the wheels?

Same fucking thing happens here, dumbasses. And that's assuming that the wheels are zero friction. On the other hand, planes can and DO take off standing still (including the wheels in case you're a dumbass) with strong enough headwinds, as seen here:

the plane is on wheels, so the conveyor belt is essentially nonexistent.

seeing as the wheels are not the means of propulsion, it will leave the conveyor belt and take off.

The answer to the question is yes, because the wheels aren't providing power at all, the prop pulls it along.

In reality, it would probably just crash off the front of that short ass treadmill...

No, lift requires some forward motion

What do you think the propeller fucking does??

No because the play is staying in one position even tho the wheels are moving. The plane needs air to pass through the wings and I'm pretty sure wind won't make it fly either. Even if it were to fly, it would most likely come back down real quick from the lack of speed and air intake needed to stay up.

Autism

The propeller is design to pull the plane forward to cause a medium (air) to create lift under the winds. Without the lift mechanic the plane will not fly.

I've been saving this one for a long while...

This.

No, there is no air fast facing the plane : the wings cannot work.

youtube.com/watch?v=CaimSh236MM

Do you even even?

No, because p=mv

yes

The plane is accelerated by the prop not the wheels.

The wheels just run free and don't give a fuck what the ground does.

Prop acc. plane takes off.

use your brains you fags

heres a you

Will it take off?

HERE ARE THE YES AND NO THOUGHT PROCESSES -

1.NO
People reason that the engines are off and the conveyor belt is moving the plane backwards. So the pilot fires up the engines just a bit to move it back forward up the belt. The pilot then apples a very low speed so that as the belt moves the plane backwards, the pilot edges it back forward. This keeps the plane in the same spot.

2. YES
Assume you are at an airport and you have some rolling luggage. You are pulling the luggage along through the airport by the handle. The luggage wheels do not matter at all, it's your pull on the handle that moves the luggage. Your pull is akin to the jet engines moving the plane forward. Now assume you are approaching one of those flat moving conveyor belts you see that people walk on to move faster through the airport. Let's say the conveyor belt is moving backwards and you are moving forward at the same pace. As you approach the flat conveyor belt you step off to the side, BUT with your arm extended you continue to pull your luggage forward on the belt. Your pull on the luggage handle is akin to the jet engine moving the plane. Again the wheels don't matter at all because all forward power is coming from the engines. As you walk forward (off to the side) at the same speed the conveyor belt is moving backwards, the luggage moves forward with you on the conveyor belt. This is how the plane takes off.

Unless the wheels are powerd no matter how fast the treadmill is going the plane will roll off the treadmill and crash depending on how high the treadmill is.

No (A), the cube is not accelerating but just sitting there and when the portal passes over it it doesn't transfer velocity to the cube so it will just slide down the slope.

Take flight my sweet

Seeing that the plane would move forward regardless of the treadmills speed air will move under the wings

The wheels on planes are free spinning, it's Litteraly impossible to match the speed of a plane with a treadmill as the plane (as far as the wheels are concernd) is seperate to the ground.

If you had a plane with powerd wheels and you matched the speed of the wheels to the treadmill than no it wouldent move and you would have a very expensive dumb car.

The plane would move forward regardless of the treadmill.

The wheels are free spinning to the plane they arn't there.

>/B

Why would it stay in one position? The wheels don't suply power the prop or jet engine does so the plane would move forward no matter how fast the treadmill is going.

this

I shall check you

It would probably just get lost in the ocean
