>Blackstar not nominated album of the year >only nominated for best alternative album >Justin Bieber's Purpose is nominated for best album of the year
This is the single worst crime the Grammy's have ever committed. It's even worse than Jethro Tull winning best metal album. Discuss.
Luke Sullivan
Quit lying OP
Charles Jenkins
>one popstar is nominated instead of another >the single worst crime the Grammy's have ever committed
Connor Rivera
The fact that you still care about the Grammy's shows that you're still a pleb.
Music isn't about fucking awards. David Bowie is dead, he doesn't care if he gets some award. His music is important to people, and that's what really matters.
John Flores
not that i appreciate bieber or these awards, but you should kill yourself
Brody Reyes
>you want it darker enough already. he doesn't need more recognition.
Adrian Davis
Grammys is just a TV show dude. No need to take it seriously. If a TV show could choose to have an old dead guy, or the biggest pop star in the world as their celebrity cameo, whose fanbase will add to their viewership/ratings/ad money, which one would they choose?
Daniel Lopez
>taking the Grammy's seriously
Adam Harris
it's a good album, but if this is your aoty you should listen to more music
Ian Mitchell
The Oscars don't nominate Transformers or Marvel films for best picture. They nominate plenty of films that don't do well at the box office but have some level of artistic value.
Why should music be an inferior art form to films? Why doesn't music deserve an awards show with the same level of prestige as the award shows for film?
Aiden James
>Equating an artificial creation of modern-day pop needs to David Bowie
Christian Johnson
>>Equating an artificial creation of modern-day pop needs to an artificial creation of old-day pop needs
what's wrong with that?
Owen Clark
never listened to bowie^
Isaac Roberts
>projecting
Kevin Fisher
Worst snub since MBDTF
Parker Johnson
This Oscars are nominated by those from the Academy Grammies are nominated by how they sold and (((them)))
Jaxon Parker
The Oscars are just as much of a sham as the Grammys and generally nominate just as surface level shit for movie of the year. I don't know what Oscars you're watching.
Dylan Lewis
Purpose was definitely good tho. The album showed a side of him that was thoughtful, lovelorn, and practiced. It's well done pop, not just earworm candy pop, but adult songs that covered topics important to the generation yet not so serious that it felt like a sermon ( I'm looking at you, Kendrick). All the edgy faggots in YouTube comments who had only heard "baby" realized that a mature Beiber actually could make an excellent pop record. Definitely more relevant than blackstar, which is a good composition, but only became well known due to the death of bowie.
I say the better album won.
Austin Gray
Just another example of the commercialism of today's music industry. It's not about the music anymore, it's about money, popularity, etc.
Nolan Parker
unironically this
Brandon Nguyen
>but have some level of artistic value watch more movies you pleb
Eli Adams
what the fuck is wrong with you
Isaac Rivera
solid b8
Jason Young
>muh "authenticity"
Brayden Sanders
so you mean bowie wasn't a popstar?
Ryder Wright
no man what's wrong with you for mistaking what amounts to a pretentious makeup about an obvious "message" for something "artistically" valuable in film, whatever that actually means
Isaac Flores
no you missed user's point completely in a race to be a contrarian "patrician."
Jose Kelly
They need this It's how they validate their fast food music
Henry Cox
As long as the Oscars rely on the academy voting, it's a sham
Thomas Wood
no he was, but saying that all pop-stars are equal is obviously just b8ing for (You)'s.
Jason Harris
lets see one album was played in every teenage/young adults bedroom and party for weeks on
