Highest grossing R rated film of all time

>highest grossing R rated film of all time
Thoughts?

wait 'til you get a load of reddit

Brothers Grismby was better

Who gives a shit.

Hopefully it will result in more R rated films being made, having proven that an R rating can mean lots of profit. We might finally escape the shit that is PG13 targeted film making.

>capeshit making a bunch of money
WHOA HOLD THE PHONE THATS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE

String indicator as to who watches children's superhero movies

I liked it well enough but it wasn't actually a very good movie as good movies go. I don't know why.

However, I'm really hoping that this will help in some way to bring back more R-rated movies that are not simply gore porn. I'm kind of sick of punch-pulling PG-13 action flicks.

Tell that to BvS' snapped budget

It was extremely mediocre, I have no clue what people were so excited about.

brother?

>Rated R
>"children"

Deadpool 2 will be like Iron Man 2; a huge disappointment.

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Not even memeing.

>dude just turn your brain off xd

>tits and naughty language automatically make it a movie directed towards fully functioning adults

I wish. I always wanted a brother.

R — Restricted. Children Under 17 Require Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian. An R-rated motion picture, in the view of the Rating Board, contains some adult material. An R-rated motion picture may include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements, so that parents are counseled to take this rating very seriously. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated motion pictures unaccompanied by a parent or adult guardian. Parents are strongly urged to find out more about R-rated motion pictures in determining their suitability for their children. Generally, it is not appropriate for parents to bring their young children with them to R-rated motion pictures.

It was completely different at what current movies are doing, it made fun of itself and the audience and the actors and wasn't afraid of breaking the 4th wall to make a comment someone may have while watching it. This is what hollywood execs thinks and will greenlight shit ton of copy cats in the next months In reality it was that used a popular character that was basically bring to live on the big screen and adapting its character and charm almost perfectly at how deadpool would be in a movie about him, being different and the like worked because deadpool IS a different character.

What I fear is that Hollywood will think that the thing that make it work was the superficial shit that I named before and we will see shit ton of other movies that want to catch that deadpool money.

Was Reynolds an integral part of making this movie successful?

This is Reddit. This is memes.

Reynolds was an integral part of making this movie MADE

What did he do?

Is that adjusting for inflation?

>mfw Colossus subtly breaks the 4th wall

"accidentally leaked" a CGI deadpool fight scene (the one in the beginning of the movie)

And fans went batshit demanding fox to fund it, fox caved it cause they saw how big the demand was.

leaked test footage which made everybody flip their shit, putting pressure on execs to get the movie made

>he unironically thinks the rating means anything in regard to its audience

Call of Duty is for adults too then right?

The movie only had a chance because the retarded exec that was pushing against it was sacked and went to LOL Sony to be a fucking retard there.

I fucking hate this movie so much. The fucking cringeworthy jokes everything it was one of the worst movies i ever saw in my entire life. And to make it worse, i had to watch Ryan Reynolds fucking stupid face and a fucking cgi spiderman or whatever the fuck, a giant metal pleb retard and a sjw-proof lesbian or whatever the fuck was that. look le ironic intro credits xd deadpool? more like deadbrain. if you liked these movie, then you are fucking mongoloid piece of shit that i dont know how you fucking heart remembers to beat. Fuck you.

Just watched it. Fucking mediocre, barely paid attention in the last 30 minutes. Cringed hard at the x-men cameos. Jokes were really, really lame.

I think I've watched maybe half these capeshit movies, all in the wrong order. I'm swearing off this bullshit since I was hyped by apparent plebeians to watch Deadpool.

"It's not like the capeshit!"

Fuck me in the ass

You sound like a fun and great person to be around. It's because of your winning personality that so many people are endeared by you and even love you.

Of course it isn't, no one ever adjusts for inflation for these things.

Also BoxOfficeMojo says Passion is still ahead of it

gb2 kid

Yeah, unlike you, you stupid fuck, who sticks watching these OMG LE EPIC MEME XD movies right? fucking pleb

unfunny shit

Nice rebuttal

lol...

Go live yourself.

It was a fun movie. It showed that capeshit can be great if the actors and production crew have fun with it.

>wasn't afraid of breaking the 4th wall

Something a lot of people don't realize is that breaking the fourth wall is a long running gag in the Deadpool franchise. He does it in the comics all the time. It seems pretty ridiculous to me that people on Sup Forums complain about him doing it, it's part of his character. This movie was great, very true to the style of the comics which I wasn't sure would translate well to film but it turned out great.

boom

>R rated film

What does "R" stand for?

It is actually his own brand of coping mechanism. As in he is crazy and talks to an audience he thinks is watching him all the time and that his like is a comic/movie.

Yeah I know, which is why I mention that Deadpool IS a different character and the movie is a faithful adaptation of the character on the big screen. I was just basically mumbling what some retarded exec would think why Deadpool was successful in order to greenlight retarded copy cats of hilarious badass action heroes that will break the 4th wall constantly because deadpool did it and made shit ton of money.

Many R rated movies have had much more ticket sales, back when seeing a movie was $5 instead of the upwards of $30 you're paying for a movie now depending on how you see it

Not impressed at all in the gross revenue because of inflation

Reddit

When he did that?

My local theater only costs $8 for a ticket.. I've never seen it upwards of $15 even at the nice big city theaters.

Daily reminder that if you liked this movie you have absolutely no right to shit on Marvel movies for being generic, and a couple of violent scenes, some swearing and fourth wall breaking won't change the fact that it contains probably the most cookie cutter origin story in recent capeshit history.

Theater tickets are absurdly expensive these days, even relative to inflation.

"Highest grossing" means literally nothing.
