2(3) and 2*3 are the same but differ in order in which you do it if it appears. 2(3) has more priority than 2*3 an cannot be broken up because it is a byproduct of the distributive property.

The answer is 58. Multiplication and division happen in order from left to right, not multiplication first because the acronym is spelled that way.
