No, he took some instrumental beats from a project some guy was pitching (the project named "the weekend") to people in the hip hop scene, and he free-styled over them. They disagreed on what the album would be but he kept the 3 instrumentals.
He posted them on the net (without crediting the instrumental producer) and Aubrey Grahm put them on his blog where people noticed him and offered label deals.
Do some research on it, his story is fucking crazy. He's actually from Ethiopia and started doing lines and partying at age 11.

I'm the producer in a producer-artist duo called E2ME (Earth 2 Mars Expressway). Our projects are meant to play into and represent the downsides of human nature.
