t. Fifteen year old who just got out of his post rock """phase"""

I'd say childhood is first wave (Talk Talk, Slint) and third wave (GYBE, Mt Zion, Mogwai) and adulthood is second wave (Tortoise, Cul de Sac, Stereolab) but maybe that was just me.

Adulthood is grasping music theory and realizing that nothing is "patrician" or "pleb", only more or less complex, and you should listen to what you like.

Note, the complexity doesn't determine how patrician the music is, because you fuckers love some basic ass shit that you praise as "patrician".

t. Plebs who don't have 24 breathing in their face

These are just silly umbrella terms. It's actually much simpler:
post-rock in the 90's = good
post-rock in the 2000's = bad (with a few expectations)
post-rock today = dead as fuck sadly

Childhood is idolizing Kanye.
Adulthood is realizing J. Cole is better.

Childhood is thinking hip hop is passable in any way
Adulthood is listening to good music

Childhood is listening to the same music as your friends
Adulthood is forming your own opinions, discovering music on your own and listening to the music you like, because you have no friends

Childhood is being elitist over popular music.
Adulthood is knowing that you're too well-read to care.

Am I the only one who feels bad for Corey Feldman

They're not silly, you're just ignorant.

3rd wave is my favorite post-rock. Caspian is my fave pr band. What now?

No
People laugh at him but they don't understand that Hollywood raped him into the monster he is today

Slowcore is pretty heavily influenced by post-rock dude.

what do you think these songs are?

there's good shit in both genres, stop obsessing over what is more "mature" or patrician.

No

excellent post here's your reward

>op makes a thread about post rock vs slowcore
>plebs just start talking about post-rock because they haven't listened to enough shit to even know what slowcore is

The guy still dresses like Michael Jackson in 2016. Even though it's out of date he still does it anyway.

He might literally have Stockholm Syndrome.

This thread is really gay

let's here some of your shit faggot

>he posts pics of Camus when he makes arrogant posts against the """"plebs""""

too pseud for this planet

It's just a reaction image my budderino don't get your knickers on a twist my lad

Mother has some I'll give it to you but Funhouse not really

what do you mean by too well read

they're really not that distinct, stop obsessing over genre labels

codeine have more in common with slint than red house painters, for example

He means that I AM NOT VERY WEEEEEEEEELL REEEEEEEEEEEAD

those are just completely different sounds, user

post-rock is not a real genre, not until third wave anyway

they're genres that share the same musical language, especially first wave post-rock. feeling superior for having a preference between the two kinda just shows that you don't "get" either

I don't see that desu
Codeine and RHP are quite different yes but they don't remind me at all of Slint

What happened to the arrogant user who was posting just prior? You seem mighty deferential all of a sudden.

Funny, that.

then you're not listening

not him, but it's true, just listen to , so many similar elements.

oh, and it's no coincidence that pajo made a shitload of slowcore albums after slint, or that one of the best slowcore albums (the for carnation s/t) was partially a slint reunion

stay pleb familia. i'd advise you to stop viewing music as a competition
