Is there any electronic music that uses non-standard time signatures?

Not necessarily on every song but I'm surprised that I haven't come across much electronic music that strays away from 4/4 time.

lad...
i'm surprised your knowledge in electronic is so superficial. i thought you guys are better that this

He does use a lot of polyrhytms but usually over a 4/4 base. I can't think of any tracks of his that are straight up in like 7/8 or 5/4 or something.

Never got round to checking out VS, found this which is in 7 when the beat comes in about half way through which is pretty sick

That's why I'm asking

You got any tracks to recommend?

go listen to Untilted by Autechre

This is good too

A lot of what's been recommended is IDM which is I like but it all sounds really cold and machine like. Anyone got any electronic weird time signatures with a warmer sound, i.e. focus on harmony as well as rhythm?

The last third of this FlyLo track springs to mind

>which is I like
*which I like

I just realized it's "Untilted" not "Untitled"

most of VS tracks are in 7/4 but he fucks with all kinds of weird sigs
i heard one that was in fucking 15/16 or something

That's pretty mad

I know a jazz track which does something like that, it's in 7/8 when the piano comes in but then they add an odd number of 16th notes at the end of one of the bars and it throws me off every time.

everything is in polymeters.

this is tasty

I'm enjoying this, keep it up

>I haven't come across much electronic music that strays away from 4/4 time.

this is by design, though. the majority of electronic music is EDM of some kind, empasis on "Dance." as such, it needs to mix with the tracks that precede and follow it. even if you match the BPMs perfectly--the drums line up--if the time signature is different, the mix will sound off because the measures don't line up.

but also just most rock, pop, blues, folk songs are in common time. people just like common time, mostly.

>mfw trying to mix in a Tortoise song with an uncommon time sig for 20 min at the crib before I figured out that I'm dumb. at least I didn't try it live.

>what is 2-step

how is 2-step not 4/4?

You're in this band? Dude this is so cool shittt

whats the sample from? I know its some really famous piece of classical.

check out Poemss, which is Aaron Funk's pop side project with some girl
