2016 Top Ten Albums

Rate/Demean others

I've come to terms that this is basically it.

I haven't listened to too much this year.
It's funny how 3 hip-hop albums ended up on my list even though I'm not a big fan of hip-hop.

how was The Follower? I haven't gotten around to listening to it yet

Parsed down my typical chart just for you OP

I love the fuck out of everything on there except for Elseq. Sirens & The Follower are underrated at well.
Ehh wasnt a big fan for most of these.
Nice taste. I love seeing Love Streams & A Weird Exits in you're chart.
It's really good. Very Hypnotic and enveloping

The rest of the list has been moving around a lot but the top ten is fairly solid now.

lol there are far too many white people in that list for it to be noisey

About leaks? Literally me and everyone. Literally an army of everyone.

December 15th carry over is a slightly different story but I think most people are open to it and generally agree with that date.

Not to mention there's a large precedent of letting the dust settle, so you're stepping over multiple lines by including new xiu xiu

pure autism

Not even close

Only doing 5

Good picks for the most part
>Wildflower
Blackstar, AE, BP and Love Streams are solid choices
Same as above really
Hipster
Blonde was pretty solid

And you don't have to wait a single day, just post in the correct thread. There was a 2017 thread made earlier today if there's not even one up right now.

>post in a different thread because ONE album isn't officially released yet
autism

>Painting With

Again not even close not to mention reading comprehension.

Post that album in the right thread.

pretty pleb desu. p4k-core.

Did you hear The Impossible Kid?

I'm in a same way in that blackstar is my 2016 aoty yet I've listened to very few non pop albums

Thanks for reminding me about Love Streams

not the best year but better than 2015

honorable mentions:
bottomless pit
babyfather album
my woman
weyes blood - front row seat to earth
i didnt like the new shxch that much but the album before was pretty good. Stil lhavent goten around to the new bbf mixtape. decent list.
young thug whew
not bad

forgot my list

:/

>Preoccupations
>Better than 2015
wew lad

good golly what u doing??

s'barely ok but '22, A Million' was pretty lame and Parquet Courts was one of my least fave of the year.

Just barely, maybe. Stoked to finally see some love for Preoccupations, even if it wasn't nearly as strong as Viet Cong.

I like you two :-)

There have only been about 15 albums overall that I have heard and really enjoyed this year.

>Swans - The Glowing Man

>Jesu/Sun Kil Moon - Jesu/Sun Kil Moon

>Future - Evol

>Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Skeleton Tree

>Frank Ocean - Blonde

Viet Cong was my AOTY of 2015 but I found it hard to pick favourites otherwise.

It was my #1, far and away. Though did you try 'The Agent Intellect' by Protomartyr or 'Holding Hands With Jamie' from Girl Band?
My #2 and 3, respectively and they share some of the same sensibilities as VC.

new Andy Stott was so disappointing sans Butterflies and New Romantic

He could have a terrific best of album at this point though
Surprisingly good, I'm a sucker for his dubby techno. Most people seemed pretty indifferent toward it though

New Deerhoof was underrated
Also Pinkshinyultrablast 2 great albums in a row, and still ignored in the mainstream

Can't even get started on math rock

>Anna Meredith - Varmints
>Even Oxen - Arrayed Above the Seraphim Lights
>Angel Olsen - My Woman
>Elysia Crampton - Demon City
>Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
>Be - One
>Kero Kero Bonito - Bonito Generation
>Beyonce - Lemonade
>Skepta - Konnichiwa
>Xenia Rubinos - Black Terry Cat

>Stott was dissapointing
Yeah I really wanted a more cohesive album, maybe even with some even heavier dark ambient vibes but he fell into the cut up vocal trap so many have gone to (ie Love Streams)

Only good answers, although both have albums I definitely wouldn't put near a top of the year list.

I don't like most of your list, but I gotta give you props for recognizing how fucking good ALL of Thugs three solo projects were this year, not just JEFFERY.

was incredibly hard to limit myself to only ten, but these are probably the ten albums I listened to most this year

good

bad

yawn

autistic retard

weak year

...

(:

Isn't she just a less poppy, African-American version of Dido?

say what you will about bible 2 but small red boy is fucking genius

they might not the best (some are clearly flawed), but these are the ones I enjoyed the most

loool
>New Deerhoof was underrated
word
its hard for me to say im sorry was pretty good :)
nice

>he actually enjoys lil uzi vert

>he doesn't

Can you please post the album and artist from your choices? I know Kanye and Jessy Lanza but the rest of your albums seem interesting.

yeah, it was pretty good, probably in my top 20

lol I know you from discord

>I'm Up above SS3
Yikes my dude

good looks on Lexxi and Elysia Crampton

Swap out one of these for Elka -Chants (too lazy to change it t bh)

unfiltered, autism in the rough. kys

1. Lemon Demon - Spirit Phone
2. Death Grips - Bottomless Pit
3. Weezer - Weezer
4. Jeff Rosenstock - WORRY.
5. Car Seat Headrest - Teens of Denial
6. Rome - The Hyperion Machine
7. Diarrhea Planet - Turn to Gold
8. Babymetal - Metal Resistance
9. White Lung - Paradise
10. David Bowie - Blackstar

all that thrash at 1-9 and blackstar only at 10. baka

I've gone from pretentiously listening to Autechre to "wait are you guys listening to this seriously" to really digging their first three LPs. And now elseq 3 is AOTY and I'm not even considering anything else

To be fair, it has a lot to do with this not being a great year for music? Neither was last year desu, actually last year was worse

anyways yeah elseq 3. eastre is a masterpiece
