What are your 2017 resolutions?

What are your 2017 resolutions?

How are you progressing on them?

well?

No more drinking alone. Going well so far.

That's it? What other goals do you have?

to quit Sup Forums

What are you going to do instead?

finish my studies
lose weight
get a gf
get a job

How do you intend to accomplish each of these?

What steps do you plan to take?

New years resolutions are stupid.
It's like saying "I'll do it tomorrow", you won't do it.

You talking about yourself?

Got something to tell us buddy?

Never had new years resolutions.
If I wanted to change I didn't wait until January to do it and neither should you.

Try to start on a keto diet to lose weight, also to eventually quit Sup Forums.

It's called making a plan for the year and assessing how your previous year went.

I do this every year to see how my progress went in my goals and what I need to re-calculate or replan.

Not making a plan is retarded and will lead to less than satisfactory results.

I had none so I achieved 100% of them and it's only the 7th january.

1. Finish this year of my degree without failing any classes.
2. Finish a personal project I've been working on for 2 years now (programming).
3. Read a book every week (i.e. 52 books), relevant to my life (so no literature).
4. Do something useful for my career every day and log it.
5. Drop 5 kg.
6. Visit at least 3 new countries.
7. Continue working my job next to uni for my resume.
8. Start with learning a language.

Why didn't you make any?

Jorge?

I'm not a great planner. I'm more of an ad hoc person. Things get when their time has come.
There would be too much to worry about anyway.

People who make great plans are often highly priveliged with a lot of supporters and ressources.

nice dud
I can get behind this

>People who make great plans are often highly priveliged with a lot of supporters and ressources.

You seem to be mixing up cause and effect.

Cause: They make great plans

Effect: They are successful and appear "privileged"

LOSE WEIGHT EASY

user PLEASE LISTEN

"TDEE CALCULATOR"
COUNT CALORIES
DONT FACTOR IN EXERCISE

ONLY COUNT CALORIES EATEN VS TDEE AND EAT 500 LESS CALORIES THAN TDEE

Good stuff lad, I've done the 52 books a year thing kind of takes up a lot of time but it's great.

1. Failing is sometimes fruitful
2. I dunno
3. Sure bro. What book can be read in one week?
4. Don't be a slave to capitalism
5. Ok, how you do it?
6. If you must. What are the benefits?
7. You start to dusgust me
8. Again one of those shit things I despise ...

When did this turn into a "Things unsuccessful people say" thread?

No, the ressources privelege you e.g. Parents that pay for stuff, people you know ... I've looked behing a lot of success stories .... they are always backed by ressources

I have nothing wrong in my life except maybe that I only shitpost in Sup Forums when I'm working but what else can I do in 12 hours looking at monitors and security cams?

play vidya as much as possible

save money for useless shit like 1500€ headphones and computer parts which i don't even need

continue going to gym, which shouldn't be a problem since i like to watch as my muscle grows

avoid women but try to be a 10/10 handsome alpha male

don't skip any classes at uni

He's a bitter loser, bitter losers want everyone else to be as bitter and as much of a loser as they are.

Are you the same retard who made this post?

You seem to have problems with criticism

But that's not criticism, it's just plain retarded.

You've never accomplished anything in your life and build up all these delusions and hate for people who have/working towards it.

That's just not true. I have finished everything I started in my life. I mostly didn't choose the easy way.

I'm just at the point where I want to settle...

Finishing your posts on Sup Forums doesn't count

I thought you would come up with a better response. Maybe try to disprove me for once.

Disprove what exactly?

I said I'd be speaking German by the end of this year and I'm doing relatively well so far, I've been taking German courses everyday except for Saturdays and Sundays. I am not giving up. Especially since it's my only goal this year, basically. Everything else is secondary.

I shall learn German.

Success stories are backed by parental ressources.

Is this ok or should I word a hypothesis?

Warum machst du das?

>Success stories are backed by parental ressources.
>Is this ok or should I word a hypothesis?

What does that have to do with anything?

It doesn't mean anything

Du schaffst das Brudi

Yes it does. If you start from 0 it is much harder to reach 100 as if you start from 90. But the guy from 0 has to compete against the guy from 90.

Maybe I'm somewhat off the original thread topic. But plans got to be backed.

What are your plans?

>jerk off less
Doing well, down to 3 wanks per day.
>drink less
Also going well, down to half a bottle of whiskey per day.
>get laid/become a wizard
Only one of those is going to happen this year, and I'm hoping it's the first one, but right now progress is still stronger towards the second one.

Weil die deutsche Sprache interessiert wirklich mich.
Ich will auch die deutsche Literatur lesen.

Wish I could give further explanation in German, kek.
Unfortunately I don't know much by now, but I'm motivated.

Danke, Brudi (:

Who cares what's harder? I don't give a shit what other people have or had I'm focused on being the best *I* can be.

>Maybe I'm somewhat off the original thread topic. But plans got to be backed.
Wtf do you mean

Plans are how you intend to accomplish something.

If I said "I want to get rich" I cannot and never will get rich because it means nothing, I haven't laid out a methodical and pragmatic approach to my goal.

If i say "I want to get fit" that also means nothing.

The question is HOW, when, how will I know when I have it? For that you need to plan. It becomes impossible to work towards something when you have no idea what you're trying to do.

Saying "I want to get rich" is retarded.
Now when you say "I will send 15 applications a week to get a job in [field], then I will save x% of my income per month and minimize my expenses by assessing them on a quarterly-basis" is when you make some progress, for example.

learn fr*nch so I can communicate with fr*gs

>Success stories are backed by parental ressources.
horrendously inaccurate

t. has first hand knowledge and experience of the contrary

SACRE BLEU

:^)
can you speak french?
Like I can understand more and more basic french, I was in /fr/ earlier and could understand the general gist of most posts, it made me pretty happy 2bh

After I barely passed French in grade 9 I had never required it again in Canada.

fuck that language, English master race never forget your roots brother

Not bad, I just give you the corrected version:

Weil mich die deutsche Sprache wirklich interessiert und ich deutsche Literatur lesen will.

To me, the older I get I only know what I don't like. Most things seem equally shitty.

You see, I'm not 20 so I guess I'm beyond that I want to get rich stuff.

Have you got more to offer than an anecdote?

Those ressources are not only money. Those are also an listening ear, interest, compassion, guidance... Oh I get all sentimental

>To me, the older I get I only know what I don't like. Most things seem equally shitty.

That's because you're a shitty person with no passions or dreams

>You see, I'm not 20 so I guess I'm beyond that I want to get rich stuff.

It was just an example, it could be applied to anything.

>Have you got more to offer than an anecdote?
>Those ressources are not only money. Those are also an listening ear, interest, compassion, guidance... Oh I get all sentimental

You just don't get it, do you?

Who cares what other people have. Why does it matter if someone is born richer than you, just make the best of what you have. If you can't run, walk, if you can't walk, crawl etc.

stop watching porn

I'm tired of not being able to pinpoint what exactly am I doing/creating in this world. This has been bothering me for a year now. Every day, at least once, I ask myself: "What have you done lately, that's concrete?". Spinning empty words on a daily basis.
I want to do something with my hands. Enter a profession that involve concrete labour, so I made an appointment at the employment bureau. Going to ask them what kind of jobs they have in this specific description. As long as it's still not outperformed by machines. Though I go there reserved, because these state employed parasites are dissasociated from reality, due to their comfortable chairs and conections

In short, I want to get into smithing, metal works of some kind. A competitive job, doesn't matter if it's not highly paid, as long as there is a pile of work. I am well acquainted with chemistry, so I'm looking to be more than a "grunt"

>i want
Then do, then be.

God speed, Croat. If you want then you will.

I wouldn't call it shitty. I'm just not thaaat optimistic.

The world is too complicated to say: I want to be X or I want to work in Y and the way there is Z.

To say it in your words: Many people can't run or walk, but crawling seems to be a crappy way to move, right? Is this really worth moving at all?

>Is this really worth moving at all?

Yes it is obviously worth it. What's the alternative? Wallowing in a puddle of shit and piss and crying like a girl?

Fuck off with this retarded defeatist attitude. People have come from worse situations than you and made something of themselves, or even changed the whole world with their ideas and inventions.

I think we have come to some kind of entente cordial here.

Getting my own coutry

So what the fuck are you trying to say

I don't really understand lesser "people"

...

Your home cannot survive without the generosity of our taxes

What do you mean with lesser people you uneducated twat? Are you sure you're Canadian? You seem to be a burger

You make no sense

What the actual fuck are you trying to say this entire thread? Are you the same person?

Then stop being rude. What I wanted to say that we were coming to some kind of understandig. Or better, I wanted to express that you're right.

But see, call me european or whatever but I don't get american optimism.

You say: Every man is the architect of his own fortune.

And I say this is not 100% correct.

I respond with a quote by Bill Gates: "If you're born poor, it's not your fault. If you die poor, it's your fault.

Quote invalid.

He wasn't born poor so he's not in the position to say that.

> His father was a prominent lawyer, and his mother served on the board of directors for First Interstate BancSystem and the United Way. Gates' maternal grandfather was JW Maxwell, a national bank president.

> At 13, he enrolled in the Lakeside School, a private preparatory school.[25] When he was in the eighth grade, the Mothers Club at the school used proceeds from Lakeside School's rummage sale to buy a Teletype Model 33 ASR terminal and a block of computer time on a General Electric (GE) computer for the school's students.

I wonder how many schools had that at the time.

>He just looks for excuses to justify failure

Kys

nope, just exposing your weak rhetoric
