My Japanese Aunt was really excited when I told her that I was learning Japanese and gave me my Uncles old japanese to english dictionaries. My mom is impressed just by my being able to read any of it.
Shame she died before I could become decently fluent.
Shouldn't really be ashamed or embarrassed to learn a new cartoons, unless you only want to use it to decipher shit quality moving drawings
