I -almost- like this 'future bass' stuff. I like flume's new album, im probably using the wrong genre name because i dont know shit about electronic music.
problem is, when i try to find more stuff like it and search for 'future bass' all i get is bullshit extremely loud compressed dubstep kinda shit. i like the whole vibe of this album but i can't find anything like it that I enjoy. i want something dancable, not super ambient or slow or anything. but just not this cheesy in your face dubstep raver bro shit.
Animal (the album) by Fakear or Storm queen - look right through (mk remix) I guess the genre your looking for is house?
Jonathan Reed
That's chillwave kinda.
Listen to Odesza, Purity Ring, or Tycho

Future bass is indeed a commonly used name for this genre. Most people agreed this album was kinda meh, so you're 2 for 2 here.
As for recommendations: >Flume - s/t (way better than Skin IMO) >Hudson Mohawke - Butter >Mura Masa - Someday Somewhere EP >SBTRKT - s/t >Caribou - Our Love
That's just off the top of my head.
There's actually a pretty decent subreddit called /r/futurebeats dedicated to this kind of music, but you didn't hear it from me.
Flume isn't future bass. His sound is so different, compared to generic future bass that sounds really fucking cheesy with the exact same samples used every time.
I'm gonna suggest Arca, Mura Masa, New Zedd, Wave Racer and Mazde.

try jamie xx, disclosure, maybe rustie
James Bailey
yeah but so is Flying Lotus and so is Arca, wonky is the worst genre descriptor ever it's just a term for electronic music that isn't super easy to categorize and sounds different
Brayden Ward

also, shlohmo, nosaj thing, groundislava
Nathan Evans
++++++++++caribou- our love. super underrated, should have gotten more attention than jamie xx for the last 1.5-2 years

Does anyone know if there is a no-vocals version of Skin ? I like what he does with the instrumental part but the guest singers are all bullshit overproduced pop garbage
