Tfw I've devoted the last 4 years of my life to solid training for the Royal Marine Commandos. Tfw I have been diagnosed with Chronic Compartment Syndrome in my lower legs and need to undergo surgery. Tfw the careers office have informed me that I will receive a permanent deferal from ever being able to apply. I have no back up plan. No solid qualifications, I don't want to go back to working shitty jobs. The dream is over.

Thanks man. In all honesty what I have learnt from this experience is that people don't really seem to care. It's a case of suck it up and get on with it. My parents would rather I went back into a shitty job than take time out and try turn my life around. The usual getting threatened to be thrown out etc.

Yeah the surgery has a 95% success rate but the Royal Marines are so selective when it comes to training. If you have ever undergone any form of surgery they see that as a weakness. It's so strict but I understand their view. I'm 24 at the minute. I've thought about persuing a career as a climbing instructor or some form of mountain guide. But that takes a long time to get properly qualified.

well it's not that we're poor, it's more like my mother is the only funcional society member while my father, who used to be a graphic designer back in the '90, lost his job and now he's depressed and old and we basically have to make up for him.
I can't blame the man, he's a good father and he always did his best when it was his time, now I'm afraid he's beyond the age he could find himself useful for any purpose, and we have to stuck with this situation as well.
My hobbies are music, vidyas, films... I used to draw back in my days, now I always find myself pissed off about how bad I got while time past.
