I was screwing around on the deep web after I was on /r/onions out of curiosity. This dude posted a pastebin on all working onion links. Not knowing what the fuck I was doing, I just started opening some random links. Opened over 50 of them and one of them suddenly is a link to a pizzeria site. I saw a few thumbs and high-tailed out of there immediately.
If this shit is so readily accessible, I imagine many who discover the deep web and mess around can end up stumbling upon illegal pages.
Has anyone ever gotten in trouble with the law for that? I imagine thousands of people each day are new to the deep web and have no idea what they're doing or what a link could contain. This is only my 3nd time using the deep web. First time I didn't get past the hidden wiki. Now I'm worried as fuck because of what I just saw.

are you 12?

Pretty sure it's just certain sites and they only crack down on excessive traffic to the page. Even then, the FBI should have better shit to do than to lock up some 40 year old dudes jerking it to kids, like oh say, finding out what the fuck Hilary Clinton is doing.
That or they're coming for you right now to kick your door down. My advice, burn your modem and grab a bug-out bag, you're now a fugitive.

just go cry to mommy shell help

You'll be fine, tor is actually as secure as the FBIs or the navy's encryption programs, they use the same browser as you, so it stands it should work just as well.
And it was a accident so......you didn't do anything wrong
Justin Miller
I had a friend who downloaded a mass porn file from a hunk website. He deleted it immediately when he saw it contained kiddy porn. 6 months later it was traced to his IP address and now he's in jail for years. You 're fucked mate

you're almost certainly going to get a warrant issued for all of your devices. if they can find any of those images cached on a drive, you will likely be charged with possession of cp. they will overcharge in a bid to get you to accept a plea deal (saves the cost of a trial). if you get a good lawyer and fight it they might drop the charges (unlikely) or you might go to trial and possibly lose, because juries are often full of women who assume everyone suspected of being a pedo is guilty and must be sentenced to 1000 years in an iron coffin with spikes on the inside. if you opt for a bench trial, the risk is that the judge is computer-illiterate (won't understand your arguments) and will drop the hammer on you. a plea deal will involve lots of fines/probation/community service, and almost certainly require registration as a sex offender for a period of time (varies by state), possibly for life. you could ask to make an alford plea (kinda similar to a no contest plea, only you maintain your innocence while acknowledging that the prosecutors have enough evidence to convict you), but they will probably insist on you registering as a sex offender no matter what, so you're in a bit of a pickle there.
you could try using a free utility like DBaN (Darik's Boot and Nuke) to wipe your HDD, but that could result in a charge of tampering with evidence on top of everything else. Tough situation all around.
Whatever you do, don't say a word to the cops, lawyer up, and don't forget to say your prayers.

So how long have you been registered, and how weird is it to tell everyone in your neighborhood about it?

I knew a guy ten years ago who had a lot of extra computers so he put them for sale as servers. He was getting $2000 a month from someone in Russia.
Three years later FBI raid his house because apparently the Russian guy was using them for a kiddie porn site. He got 25 years with no parole.
God bless him. I can't imagine what's happening to him. He was a great guy
