ok as i listen to Sup Forums core, i find a few interesting things
this isn't one of them. this album is nothing but long droney jam sessions with light vocals and nothing too adventurous happening. compare with other "boring" bands like radiohead, and they seem much more lively than this emo garbage.

i think it's better to look at individual essentials charts to get into genres

that's fair, but i think if i were to show the Sup Forumscore list to, say my cousin that usually just jams pop-punk or whatever, i think they would be able to pick out different things they might enjoy from diff genres, rather than diving headfirst into something they're not extremely familiar with

I felt the same when I first heard Loveless, only liking Only Shallow. Then over time other tracks started to really stick out. I'd definitely recommend listening to the +1 version of Sometimes to really appreciate it.
