how hard is it to beat a heavy fentanyl addiction? so hard that theres hydromorphs being stacked on top of a massive daily fentanyl dose by patch

its times like these im happy im a meth user rather than a opiate user

im neither. i quit doing hard drugs a couple years ago. i dabble in party drugs here and there now. this is my father. he takes it legally for pain, they've increased his dose so much over the years that they now stack hydros on top of it. its really fuckin him up. doctors wont take him off of it. hes with drawled a few times and ended up in the hospital. shits nuts man, ive been a drug user for a very long time and ive never seen something this fucked

im not too familiar with fentanyl (duragesic i believe?) or opiates in general but to withdraw, he is going to want to do it under medical supervision at a hospital. in fact thats the only option

i would imagine. like i said he droped CT a few times and ended right in the hospital almost dead the first time. the problem is he thinks his actual pain is getting worse and they keep increasing the dose. when really its not his pain increasing its his tolerance. his body wanting more, a higher dose. that causes more pain id imagine.

like i said im not too familiar with opiates, but what are the dosages out of curiosity

im honestly not sure. very high, like i said they stack hydromorphine on top of it daily as well.

stacked hydros once his dose got so high that htey didnt wanna up it anymore. hes been on it for quite a few years

you mean hydromorphone? yeah man honestly detoxing at a hospital is the only reasonable option in my opinion

Doesn't fentanyl kill you if you take more than 2mg?

yes hydromorphone sorry. very well, this will be a tough battle. i figured hed probly have to go that road

im pretty sure they measure fentanyl in MCG's dude

yeah they use ug. ld50 is some ridiculously low number

Why would he wanna stop the meds if hes in chronic pain. Naturally tolerance will go up so see a doctor for a higher dose .

Tyrosine for the dopamine production
GABA for the CNS regulation (also helps the bowels)
D-Phenylalanine (not L or DL) for endorphins
Need stacks of omega 3/6 and magnesium as well.

Tie that in with daily exercise, a juice cleanse, and a structured taper he should be able to come down to nothing. And by that time hi should have a stronger body.

I was on daily hydros now I take some lean on occasion... like less than once a week.

What sort of pain is he treating?

dont listen to this faggot.

first of all, ALL amino acid are levorotatory, thus he would need L-phenylalanine not D.

second of all, phenylalanine is not required in additional amounts for endorphin production. since endorphins are peptides, they are composed of many amino acids and not just one.

also it would be redundant to take both phenylalanine and tyrosine since they can be interconverted into one another

Quick listen to this guy, he clearly has stacks of first hand experience dealing with opiate addiction...

Did that really work? How do you know it wasn't a placebo effect?

i do not have experience with opiate addiction, but i do know a few things about physiology

sorry guys OP here i had to step out for a sec.
because its fucking him up man. i dont even like being in a vehicle with him anymore. he sleeps all the time, his memory is shot. he broke his back years ago really bad, he walks now but not well. hes also a really bad diabetic and deals with crazy diabetic neuropathy in is legs/feet/hands(spelling?) hes been on gaba's before also, did nothing.

Who cares if it was? That was the advice an addiction specialist gave me. He suggested amino acids and GABA aren't well understood in their effects but can help with a dysfunctional brain blasted by years of opiate addiction. They don't turn into the various things, they just help the brain regular itself. I was the patient not the doctor...

Like I said even if it is a placebo it was the only thing that ever worked. Ignore that nay saying know it all. It wasn't that long ago that all of western medicine shat on massage and acupuncture... now we have massage and dry needling being suggested by GPs.

Don't decide something doesn't work because some random user suggests it shouldn't. Try it out, if it doesn't work for you try something else. It's a better option than being systematically pushed onto higher doses of dangerous opiates.

you wouldnt happen to mean gabapentin (brand name: neurontin) would you?

yes

ok just wondering. just do me a favor, if you do plan on going with that other guys advice, please buy L amino acids and not D amino acids...

you do raise a good point
